Hell Bound (1957)
Since Mr. Reficul would sound too goofy
When Jordan (John Russell) comes to a health dept office as a phony pharmaceutical rep, he is announced as Mr. Natas. A reverse-spelled Satan works well for "Hell Bound".
Columbo: By Dawn's Early Light (1974)
Homage to "The Caine Mutiny" ideas
This is a very good episode, providing character contrasts between Lt. Columbo, Col. Rumford, his officers and cadets. The finishing reveal is subtle rather than "in your face". After finally seeing the entire episode, I was reminded of a few hints of "The Caine Mutiny" novel and movie. When Col. Rumford first deals with his "boodle boy" cadet Miller (and helps establish an alibi), he preaches about the student's geometry grades, "Work on them, Miller. Geometry is logic and logic is the battlefield of adulthood." In "The Caine Mutiny" when Captain Queeg is testifying on his own behalf about solving "the strawberries" disappearance, he explains, "They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I'd have produced that key if they hadn't of pulled the Caine out of action." And it's this "wild strawberries chase" that could have been a model for Col. Rumford's frantic hard cider dorm "shakedown" that disturbs the peaceful slumber of Columbo, officers & cadets alike. It also cements the bond between Columbo & cadets and sends martinet Rumford into deserved isolation as the old academy seeks a new future.
