Luckiest Girl Alive (2022)
I Wish I Read The Book First
First things first: Chiara is magnificent.
I went into the film blind & half interested but was pretty invested after ~20 mins.
Some scenes felt empty- like something was missing but I couldn't articulate what/why until learning that the film is based on a book with (understandably) much greater detail than the film. But with a 2hr time stamp, I think they could've been more intentional with the storytelling. I will absolutely be reading the book.
I wasn't too impressed with Kunis to be honest. In many explosive scenes, there was almost nothing behind her eyes which was especially frustrating when Wittrock and Aurelia were so much more expressive and *believable*.
It was entertaining nonetheless. I'll probably watch again after reading the book.
