Vigil (2021)
Unlikable main character
AMY is difficult to like. As a visitor on the boat, she imposes herself on the sub and its Captain, as if she is just as important as those in charge. No sense of humor. Could have helped a person in danger of losing his life, but she didn't even try.
Overall, the story is interesting. With multiple twists and turns. Alternates between action on the boat and investigation on land by Amy's fellow police officer.
I know little about the details of a submarine and its crew, so any discrepancies with actual life vs. This portrayal didn't affect me.
At time, I wasn't sure i would continue to the end, but I stayed with it.
Eric Clapton: Standing at the Crossroads (2021)
NOT an updated 2021 documentary!
It appears that this may have been a documentary originally put together about 20 years ago, based on the estimated ages of the people being interviewed. Clapton himself was interviewed and looks quite a bit younger than he does now in 2021. Although I enjoyed the doc, I think it's very deceiving to make people believe it was done in 2021.
The Voyeurs (2021)
Turn sound off. Turn subtitles on.
What horrible voices from the lead actors. Justice Smith was the worst, as if he had marbles in his mouth. Sweeney acted a bit too childish, with crackles in her voice.
Away (2020)
Kept my attention even thru slow parts
A bit too much time was spent on each character's back-up stories, IMHO. Ever since the LOST TV show, flashbacks seem to be obligatory.
The Vast of Night (2019)
Incessant talking!
The Everett character is truly annoying, and I just couldn't take it. The whole thing about the actual 1950s movies and the Twilight Zone was that there was very little talking, but the constant mindless chattering just went on and on and on and on!
Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill (2020)
Not very timely!
Jokes about cellphones and texting? They sound like they were written years ago when these jokes were more relevant.
All of a sudden, he's become very physical. Very un-Seinfeld like.
