Kinda Got Me Thinking...
17 May 2024
First off, it is not going to be a movie for everyone. I wasn't really expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised at how, for what it was, the movie delivered. I thought Kirsten Dunst was perfect for her role. I thought the story was rather poignant, because of just how polarizing ideals, belief systems and politics has become, in the U. S. I'm sure there are quite a few states that would like to secede from the U. S., as a territory. This movie got me thinkin, how in this day and time... ANYTHING can happen. NOTHING is surprising or shocking, anymore.

All of the other lead and supporting actors and actresses did stellar jobs. All in all, I thought the movie exceeded whatever expectations I already didn't have. The camera work was also amazing. How it switched back & forth between the journalist's camera angle and just being a viewer of the movie itself.

Different kind of movie that may not be for everyone, but it was definitely worth watching, to me.

A REAL GEM
4 May 2024
I have watched this movie a few times, & it just continues to get better... with age. This movie is really thoughtful, considerate and beautiful. Hardly what anybody would expect from Eddie Murphy, which is probably why it didn't do as well as it could have... and SHOULD have. I highly recommend it, just because with all that IS going on in the world... this movie takes the opportunity to demonstrate the empathy and sympathy that are missing, in this day and time. It is truly a movie we ALL can relate to, on some level... a reminder of why we should be showing love EVERY chance we get. And remember... EVERYTHING happens for a reason.

Slow Road to Nowhere!
22 October 2023
From seems like a mash-up of Lost & The Walking dead. The acting is not bad, b/ b/c the storyline is thoroughly drawn out, 2 seasons of nothing explained or wrapped-up is rather inconsiderate & excruciating. It also felt like I was just being strung along, from 1 episode to the next. Instead of explaining anything from episode to episode or even season to season, new variables were introduced regularly, that just left me scratching my head. Not to mention, it'll probably be another year or 2, until the 3rd season.

How bad or good From will actually be will depend on how ALL of the plot twists play out... & judging by the likes of the first 2 seasons... that could be any number of seasons. After 2 full seasons, we know just as much as we did when the series first started! Not good writing @ all. 2 seasons of just stringing viewers along is HORRIBLE writing. Great way to get a series cancelled!

Creed III (2023)

A little TOO formulaic...
7 March 2023
It's just an ok movie. Nothing to write home about @ all. MBJ is solid enough, b/ I found much of the dialogue b/t MBJ, Tessa Thompson & the deaf daughter to be both unnecessary & irrelevant. Would have loved to see more of Jonathan Majors who was exceptional. The movie should have shown more of the relationship b/t MBJ & JM's characters as kids. The movie felt rushed at times & the fight scene @ the end was totally lacking. The early rounds are shown & str8 blasts into the later rounds. Overall, the movie seemed rather formulaic & rushed, b/ still entertaining, nonetheless. Definitely the weakest of the Creed installments.

Mmmm... still on the fence!
4 March 2023
Relatively entertaining iteration of TS's tale of the Dutton family. Definitely not as pretentious as the Yellowstone series, which I couldn't even finish. & not as coming of age, as 1883. Harrison Ford & Helen Mirren are excellent. Directing is solid. Writing... yeah, sometimes it feels like storylines are too drawn out. It feels like real time, that it's taking Spencer Dutton the time it's taking him to return to Yellowstone. Like, come on man... get on w/ it already! Overall, the series is entertaining so far, b/ I'll reserve my final judgement until the end... b/c there have been plenty of miniseries that started strong, b/ had craptacular endings.

An Irredeemable Series
4 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this series not expecting much, & I must say after making my way through all episodes, I found it rather unfulfilling & bland. Style and acting were decent b/ the storyline left a lot to be desired. Directing was meh. The series just didn't feel authentic... for example, who tf would have endured drought, knowing that they were literally sitting on a gold mine, b/c God told them to do so!? NOBODY... that's who! I found that to be extremely implausible. Not to mention the plot was slow af. I felt the series was slow & dragged on, for the sake of nothing. & there was nothing really spaghetti western about it. Clearly the term is just used as a marketing ploy, so that the series will be compared with ACTUAL great westerns, done by Sergio Leone. I tell you what, miss this garbage... & watch Billy the Kid or 1883, instead. I found them to be way more enjoyable than this bs.

The Searchers (1956)

Exceedingly Overrated BS!
24 November 2022
First off, I've never thought much of John Wayne as an actor. He was just the white man's white man, of the time. He wasn't a Humphrey Bogart, & certainly wasn't a Clark Gable. None of John Wayne's westerns have the grit ANY of the spaghetti westerns that Clint Eastwood did. & none of the WB studio resources associated w/ ANY of John Wayne's westerns made them ANY better... hardly like The Magnificent 7 or even Gunsmoke. The acting in general was subpar. Storyline was decent & directing was as good as it could be, seeing that the acting was just meh. Can't get blood from a stone. The Searchers was the 1st & last John Wayne movie I'll be wasting my time on. How people rate this garbage as high as they have is unbelievable, for such an underwhelming effort. I can't imagine any of John Wayne's other westerns have aged any better.

Verybizarre!
22 October 2022
Seriously? SERIOUSLY!? 7.1 rating for this craptacular bs? Absolutely laughable. Those that rated this movie higher than a 2 should be ashamed of themselves. Acting wasn't bad, casting was decent... b/ the plot just descended into nonsensical craptacular bs. It's not even a horror movie. How anybody thought Midsommar was even remotely entertaining is absurd & ridiculous. I can't even come up w/ enough words to review this trash. Do yourself a favor... don't even waste your time. There's nothing remotely entertaining, or redeeming about this movie. After a while I just kept waiting & wanting it to end. Do NOT even waste your time! You've been warned! That this movie is even rated as high as it is clearly demonstrates people have NO taste & think anything is good.

Ruby Rose is TRASH
29 September 2022
Everything about this movie is horrible... plot, directing, casting & acting. Not even Frank Grillo can save this nonsense. Ruby Rose is 1 of the most worthless actresses in Hollywood. Seriously... she couldn't act her way out of a styrofoam cup. When she was in John Wick II she didn't even say a word... & was STILL horrible b/c she just can't act to save her life. What I want to know is how is it that she continues to be cast for roles but has no talent.

Do yourself a favor... miss this garbage. You'll absolutely thank me b/c you didn't waste your time. You'll be more entertained checking out the back of your eyelids!

Uuuuuh huh! (Gotta say it like Elvis tho!)
9 September 2022
What can I say b/ this movie f'g ROCKS! Just all kinds of Motor City, D town, blue collar, raw af...w/ all kinds of gratuitous violence! Storyline/ plot is decent, b/ what it lacks in this area it EASILY makes up for in acting, directing & casting, especially. I mean seriously, you won't see a more seasoned bunch of veterans: Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Victor Argo, Tom Sizemore, Sam L., Gary Oldman, James Gandolfini. & a great cast of young stars: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, Michael Rappaport! What more could you ask for!?!? Acting was phenomenal! GO as the Rasta... AMAZING! That monologue DH delivers to CW was phenomenal... a true thing of beauty. In my opinion, easily one of the best monologues ever said in a movie! & the scene b/t JG & PA... Whiskey, tango, foxtrot! This is a real treat of a movie! SO, go get your popcorn... kick back & prepare to be THOROUGHLY entertained!

Billy the Kid (2022– )

Great but not exceptional...
1 September 2022
Tom Blythe is an exceptional fresh face. As far as his portrayal of Billy The Kid goes, he is solid. The supporting cast is good, as well. Overall, the acting from the entire cast is stellar. I thought the 1st season was extremely entertaining. I've read reviews where people complained about mumbling, sound & lighting, b/ I didn't have any problems w/ the production of the series. The acting, plot, cast & directing were solid. The only thing I didn't like was that it could have been more fact based, & the creative liberties that were taken seemed rather unnecessary. I see that the series has yet to be cancelled or renewed. BTK is certainly entertaining enough to deserve a 2nd season. I'd definitely be disappointed, if it weren't picked up for a 2nd season. I definitely green light it, before another absolutely & entirely pointless installment of Sharknado!

Woulda coulda shoulda...
1 September 2022
The movie had potential. Stallone delivers as his usual self. He actually makes the movie any kind of watchable. That's about all that is redeeming about this straight to video craptacular bs. CGI was ok, and not much the director could do to squeeze another drop out of the script. The supporting cast was just ok. Really just a bunch of nobodies, hardly worth remembering. What was exceptionally horrible about the movie is that the kid couldn't act his way out of a styrofoam cup & the anarchist plot was one dimensional at best, to say the least. Even the plot twist at the end was just meh. Sad to see Stallone so far off his blockbuster days.

Hell NOPE! NO WAY this movie is 7.1!
30 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's 4 of 10 @ best. It shouldn't even be considered a horror movie. I wanted to like this movie a whole lot more, & I had no expectation of it. The 1st 2 thirds of the movie was great. We didn't get any back story on the 'monster', b/ ok... I can live w/ that. Daniel Kaluuya & Keke Palmer certainly deliver, the directing was decent & the supporting cast was good, too. Michael Wincott was a nice touch... hardly recognizable. BUT, the f'g ufo/ parachute monster was such a cop out. When the movie went in that direction, I was like NOOOOOOOOO! B/ I'd already watched 2 thirds of the movie, so I just let the rest ride... b/ talk about disappointed. It clearly is the worst of the Jordan Peele movies, in my opinion... w/o a doubt!

A hidden Paul Walker gem!
17 August 2022
As I watched this movie, sure I enjoyed Jessica Alba, b/ it reminded me of how much I miss Paul Walker! The movie is not great, by any stretch of the imagination, b/ I found it relatively entertaining. Acting was decent... what you'd expect from the cast. Underwater camera work was exceptional. Jacque Cousteau himself couldn't have done a better job. Plot was plausible enough. Tyson Beckford was a nice touch, as well. Certainly don't see much of him anymore. If you don't expect much, like I didn't, you might just be pleasantly surprised... also like I was!

Disney level cornylicious...
15 August 2022
If you like b-rated horror movies, w/ some action and comedic elements splashed in, that smack of the late 80's, then this movie is absolutely for you! Unfortunately, it's not how I like my vampire horror movies, AT ALL. Worst thing about Day Shift is it tries to hard to be funny, action and scary. I guess actors are having to take anything just to stay current & earn a paycheck. Not even Jamie Foxx can save this craptacular bs. Do yourself a favor... skip it. This way you won't have to wish you had that 1hr 53 min back you just squandered watching it... like I did!

Arguably... the BEST!
14 August 2022
This movie gets it right in every way! I remember seeing this at the drive-in, when I was a kid! Most movies don't hold up over time, b/ this one ABSOLUTELY does. Great directing, acting, storyline, plot & casting! Definitely in my top 5 of ALL TIME! The shock value off the 1 scene alone still leaves you in the what tf did I just see zone, even if you've already seen it 10-15 times!

Missed it by THAT much...
16 July 2022
Definitely the weakest of the Matt Damon installments, b/ certainly not b/c of him. Storyline/ plot were subpar, at best. Tommy Lee Jones & Alicia Vikander give cringeworthy performances. Although a watchable action movie, Jason Bourne certainly diminishes the greatness of where the franchise ends up, which is most unfortunate, b/c prior to to this installment the franchise was solid.

26 June 2022
Nobody does revenge movies better than Koreans... NOBODY! Acting was great... plot was solid. A TRUE thriller. B/ the ending... left much to be desired. Definitely not a movie you'll consider watching more than once, b/c it's depressing af. Certainly not worth the high ratings either.

Great Action Movie!
23 June 2022
Sure, it's easily comparable to the Jason Bourne series, b/ that it is doesn't diminish the overall quality & intensity of the movie. Acting is excellent, plot is solid, exciting action sequences, & outstanding car chases! The fast moving camera cutaways, in the fight scenes left a little to be desired, b/ they definitely add to the intensity of the movie. I certainly wish there were more of this kind of action movie being made! Definitely deserves a higher rating!

Craptacular nonsense...
8 June 2022
In addition to just not feeling the woke feminist narrative, the storyline was completely implausible & the acting was horrible. The only thing that was redeeming about this movie was the end credits. Do yourself a favor & skip this trash. You'll absolutely be grateful you did.

Face PALM!
31 January 2022
This movie was some craptacular bs. It just lacked altogether. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't identify w/ ANY of the characters. Most of the actors couldn't act their way out of a paper bag. Felt like they just did the movie to earn a paycheck, b/ really didn't care one way or the other for their actual performances. The fight scenes were meh at best. Camera work was amateurish, directing subpar & storyline flat. I tried to give it 2 stars... b/ found myself not even able to justify giving it even 2 stars, even though I'm a Scott Adkins fan. The quality of his movies just seem to be getting crappier & crappier, which is extremely disappointing.

Worth Checking Out...
30 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love watching this movie just to see Terrence Howard's character get his assets whooped... THOROUGHLY! I am just not a fan of any of his work.

People who don't like the movie obviously don't get what the black man's experience was like, after returning home from the Vietnam War. Granted not every black man's experience was negative b/ as racism was still alive & well, in the US, of course it adversely affected a lot black men's lives.

I think the movie is entertaining, b/ am not a fan of the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot ending. I think what would have made the movie even more entertaining is if some of them got away... like Val Kilmer in Heat. Where's THAT ending at!?
