Loved it and loved seeing Kim in this role. She definitely has the chops to carry a show. So sorry it got cancelled :( wish someone would start a petition so somewhere like Netflix could pick it up for another season.

Well done for the most part but filled with homophobia and shadeism

Good acting minus the older guy. Loved the grandmother and best friend devins acting. Petrice who plays Greg is a rising star. The stereotype of homosexuality being something you are recruited into is sadly worked into the plot and the light skin son being the good smart one and the dark son being the wayward bad one is also a part of the plot and these things show that this film was done by a white and I imagine straight woman thus the lack of authenticity. A good film but these stereotypes bring it down

I saw Dirty Girl at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2010 and it was amazing!!!
I thought it had a good blend of drama and comedy therefore when things got heavy or sad I didn't get depressed or too down because a few scenes later I would be laughing.
I thought it was the best portrayal of the beauty of a relationship between a gay man and a straight woman since Will & Grace. It also had a great soundtrack. I can't wait to have a movie night at my house with this movie. It was just a fun movie with depth. No academy award worthy performances in my opinion but the acting is definitely good but no mind blowing performances.

I saw this at the Toronto International Film Festival and as a 25 year old on a personal level I related to this movie and loved it!!! In my short life I've found myself in more than one love triangle and in many triangles that don't involve love and i thought the film represented that very well. Especially when you like someone and you don't know if they return your feelings and confusion that trying to read the signals can cause is all accurately portrayed in this movie. I loved the director's use of music to help tell the story as well. Just goes to show all you need is a good story to make a good movie. Not only special effects and car chases.
