Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak (2020)
Needed more focus on subject matter
As I started to watch this series I was so excited to see what people do to prevent an outbreak. The time they actually talk about pandemics and all the work they are doing was really informative and interesting to watch. And I appreciate it raises awareness of vaccination and public health issues. But whenever they add their personal life and religious beliefs, it was so irrelevant and off topic. Rather than these kind of conversations, they would explain us some scientific details and different studies that are done on the field.
It could have been better, but still worth a watch.
Les frères Sisters (2018)
Deserves More Recognition!
This movie is so underrated that I didn't know what to expect at first. I don't enjoy Western movies much normally, but this one is really good honestly. I think it's because it breaks stereotypes on characters like Eli, being an assassin, but also extremely kind, emotional and caring man. Or deep conversations on humanity and ideal world order that you don't hear much from that kind of movies. Besides, all the acting performances were amazing, and depth of the characters was so on point. You can easily feel many different emotions through the entire movie. There were funny, sad, shocking, brutal, heart-warming moments and you couldn't tell what was going to happen next.
It's a well written, well made slow burn movie. If you like that type I would recommend to watch it. For me, it's one of the best films I've watched in recent years.
Joker (2019)
Can't wait to watch it again!
I saw Joker last week and I still can't stop thinking about it. The acting, cinematography, music, lights, colours, all were amazing. I think there are many scenes that are going to be classic over the years like dance on stairs, putting his blood as a smile and so on. I'm really glad that they looked from a different angle and treated the story in a psychological way rather than including CGI stuff. That way I felt more connected to the character. I have to mention that Phoenix did a fantastic job here in this film by showing us all the emotions he's struggling from beginning to end. I loved feeling uncomfortable by watching a twisted mind in this dark atmosphere.
I think it's not right to compare Phoenix's Joker to Ledger's, because their roles took part in Joker's different eras. Phoenix played his birth, and Ledger played his prime. Both performances were amazing without doubt.
I can't wait to watch Joker again and definitely recommend it to anyone.
