Big Legend (2018)

Flawed but the main characters were real.

What kept me watching a movie that does have holes in the action and plot at times was the believability of the two main characters. It is an ex-Ranger who shows the character of a Ranger and a hunter who is a regular guy, not a monster out for blood but who is really a normal, nice guy. The interaction between the two characters seemed real to me, except for the overuse of the word, Chief. The Sasquatch was true to the "science" of Big Foot, just a bit more blood thirsty. You didn't need to see a really scary figure because the power of the beast is exhibited quite powerfully in the actions he causes. I would see the sequel and hope they patched up some holes and keep the characters real.

Very honest.

I have seen suffering like this and have been in the wife's shoes and this is very real. You have to understand the pastor's experience in heaven made his recovery more difficult (that might be a spoiler). His suffering was hard to watch but it was realistic. The spiritual struggle, financial trouble, and family trauma is just how it is. A near death experience, even without seeing heaven, makes you wish you had gone all the way, just to escape the suffering here and the suffering of dying again. It is honest and if you want to be prepared for tragedy here and heaven afterwards, it is worth the slow torture of watching this. It is better than doing yourself. The legal problems were also so true to life. Watch and learn and you might not have to live it. The last half hour is worth and since I see honesty throughout this film, I believe that is also likely the truth.

Read all the reviews before paying to see

I must have missed the masturbatory scene and I am glad I did. This was definitely a man's film. It is better to see a movie this depressing when it has some beautiful scenery, like Dr. Zhivago. (I didn't like Dr. Zhivago, either.) I just wish I had read the reviews all the way down. I just saw all those stars and the praise. The worst part was the complete lack of communication. You would think that when the oil runs out and we have no technology, that we will talk to each other again. The one good thing about seeing this movie is that you realize that most of history and most of the world has to struggle to eat but most of us who can afford to rent a movie don't have to think about it.
