The 4400 (2004–2007)
9/10
An unusual and under-rated sci-fi classic - worth a watch!
8 August 2006
Watching the 4400 is a bit like going to quiet café for a quick bite to eat and, unexpectedly, having one of the best meals of your life.

Hard to follow, and occasionally borderline kitsch, somehow The 4400 keeps you hooked with the fascinating characters, deep plot and unpredictable turns.

The storyline is highly original. The actors and the characters that they play are highly engaging. It tests some scientific and moral boundaries and makes some other programmes seem like music videos in comparison.

I think it is a sci-fi classic which, like Dune, will be loved by a small hardcore of fans, whilst most will just scratch their heads wondering what it is all about.

Dream Team (1997–2007)
What has happened to Dream Team in Series 9?
12 March 2006
This used to be one of the best dramas on TV, but the current series has lost its way!

There has been an obvious reduction in the budget, but what has happened to the fantastic characters like Carl Fletcher, Don Barker and Curtis?

The current plot seems too heavily oriented around off the pitch action, and very tenuous story lines (Eugene wanting to play Football for Australia?)

Also, when are they going to give poor Naomi Ryan some proper lines and let her smile a little? She was compelling on-screen in Mile High, but looks all lost at sea in the present season of Dream Team.

I'll keep watching, but only because of Julie Healy! Let's hope the next series gets back to the previous highs :)
