Boring
8 June 2023
I'm a long time Ari Melber regular. Recently however I've found that I can't get through his program. I am so sick of hearing about Trump's legal problems. If you watch this program on a regular basis you know all the key points. What I can't understand, is why Melber beats the same horse night after night when there's nothing really new to report. He needs to broaden his reporting on political issues. There's a lot more going on in the country that needs reporting and analysis. It seems to me that MSNBC is addicted to Mr Trump because the whole evening lineup has this same problem of fixation on our ex-president. One other complaint that I have is the predictable stable of 5-6 Talking Heads. For heaven's sake get some new faces Mr Melber, it would make your program a lot more interesting.

Hard to watch

The story line is totally depressing and this is driven home by the excellent acting of Cotillard. It was so real in fact I wasn't sure I could watch past the first half of the movie. Others have complained that this couldn't have happened because surely someone would have reported the abandonment to the police. I disagree, as the whole thing takes place over just a few days and the mother and daughter have little to no safety net. Fortunately, the tension was somewhat relieved by the character of the carnival barker/ex-high diver Julio. The scene on the cliff top presaged the ending, which though predictable remained nevertheless moving. Somewhat disappointing to me was that nothing in the mother's despicable behavior was resolved. This is real life not Hollywood.

Can' t take Joe Scarborough any more

I'm a long time watcher of Morning Joe. I've about had it with Joe who just does not seem to know when to shut up. As a regular watcher his repetitive and lame verbiage including his incessant reminders about his time in Congress are to me like nails on a black board. Further he constantly restates the obvious which for the show's well informed audience has to be galling and insulting. Dump the silly banter about sports which seems to have become a regular feature. There are plenty of sports channels.

Totally flat

Story line null. Acting uninspired. Dialog insipid with phony accents. Just plain boring. Hard to believe the producers couldn't see this slow moving train wreck.

Great photography, pas plus

Having lived in France for many years for post-grad education and married to a Française for over 40 years, I know a thing or two about French culture. So I was eager to watch this show which I presumed would have fun with cross cultural differences and curious how they would work those differences into a plot line so necessary to sustain a series. I managed to get through three episodes before calling it quits.

The show overall is silly and patched together. For example, what's up with random encounter with the all wise Chinese nanny teaching Mandarin to two preschoolers, who speaks PERFECT English (and presumably French as well)? Really?

Many reviewers have commented on the over dependence on clichés but since that seems to be SOP for American films about France, no surprise there. The French main characters are all predictable: the suave client taken right out of a rum commercial, the overplayed gay coworker, the snooty female boss. All standard props for script writers with nothing to say.

My objection is precisely there. This show has nothing to say. I was able to get through those three episodes by focusing on the fascinating Paris photography and remembering my time there.

So incredibly boring
7 October 2018
OMG how is it possible to do such a great job with production values and neglect the story line, pace and acting. I've just started season 3 with the hope that things would improve from a deadly boring season 2. No joy. Can't waste anymore time on this mediocrity. Just finished binge watching season 2 of Goliath on Netflix so I'm a bit spoiled perhaps. Goliath required rental of a motel room, bar room and court room.TMITHC obviously has production costs running to the mega millions. Goliath has smart dialog and an actual story. This series has neither.
