I'm falling in love with this movie
22 October 2020
I fall in love with this movie. I felt sad when this film ended, I was already hypnotized in this film. Taken from a true story, Hisashi and Mai really have an amazing story in bringing all the atmosphere, from heartwarming, happy, to sad. I am always touched in every scene. They both really have amazing and unbelievable personalities, but it's true.

Both Takeru Satoh and Tao Tsuchiya showed very good performances. The chemistry that is displayed is very charming and complementary. Takeru Satoh has once again proven that he is one of the best actors in Japan. How he portrays a vulnerable man, never discouraged, and always saddened, for me it is really amazing. I think now I'm starting to idolize Tao Tsuchiya. He's putting on a great performance here. He really transformed into the character Mai very well. Her acting performance in becoming a cheerful woman until she turned into a woman with a struggle with disease, it amaze me everytime I see her.

Incredible cinematography supported by beautiful scoring and music complements this film to be even more extraordinary. Over all, I love it so much. One of the best Japanese movie I've ever seen. Of course, I'll be watching this again, without a doubt.

Kajillionaire (2020)

Extremely Unexpected
19 October 2020
Miranda July seems to do a very good job of directing this film. I was amazed throughout the film with all the elements in it. A neat combination of character oddities, heart warming feeling, with a crime-comedy dressing, and presenting the reality of the lower class economy. My eyes are always stunned to see every scene and story development that is neat, not rushed, and very interesting.

Even though it carries the title kajillionaire, I like it when it is only used as a premise and not continued in the twist, because it will feel cliche if it's done, good job miranda !. The story is funny and entertaining, with the strangeness of each character, in fact it actually supports the story to develop better. Evan Rachel Wood is very exceptional here. The other casts are also very balanced in playing their roles, the problems of each character also support the chemistry and connections that are shown to be more natural. The cinematography that is displayed is very pleasing to the eye, the color palette settings, camera works, and the existing photography-cinema games are amazing, so they bring a light atmosphere with the screenplay that is played. Supported by scoring and background music that add a plus in this film.

Overall, it's an amazing mix of all the film elements. I enjoy it so much. And i Love kind of movie like this.

Delusions!!!
16 September 2020
Another Netflix masterpiece film. The combination of the cast of mega stars is never wrong to make the film feel alive. The whole story is arranged slowly but surely, bringing a complete atmosphere, such as the meaning of life, love, and evil. I really like it as all the crimes here are based on the rottenness of the human heart and mind, and reflect mostly the existing reality. It doesn't matter whether you are a religious person, a person in office, or an ordinary person, you will never be free from mistakes and sins.

I really like it when all the stories bring all the characters connected and connected to each other, there is no waste at all here. The story is explored perfectly by dividing the screentime of each character evenly. I also like that there isn't one character who stands out more, all the characters are very influential in the story here. The film uses repetitive scoring, with decent screenplay and cinematography. The tone that was delivered was diverse but still consistent with its main focus. Featuring a storytelling style with narrative intervals, this complex and long story has succeeded in making you not bored and being very interesting.

Boyy, all the cast here put on an incredibly powerful performance. Even though it only appeared at the beginning, Bennet and Skarsgard were very successful in creating Arvin (Tom Holland) 's background for the whole story. the same as Bennet and Skarsgard, Wasikowska and Melling show pretty good acting. Rilley Keough and Jason Clarke succeeded in portraying evil and scary characters, and Sebastian Stan who also succeeded in evolving into a badcop with a distinctive stature. Scanlen succeeded in bringing the role of a vulnerable girl, Pattinson always amazed him where he brought the character of a religious person but committed a sin. Lastly, Tom Holland, boy, he managed to escape from his spiderman image, he evolved into a likeable main character who is easy to get the attention of the audience. I think Holland will continue to improve his acting when he plays more non-blockbuster films.

I crowned this film as my second favorite Netflix film after The King. I hope Netflix releases more films like this.

The Continuity Still Looking Good
22 August 2020
Again, the linklater nailed it. Even though there weren't many conflicts or not as complex as the first film, I think this sequel still manages to spoil the audience in its own way. Still carrying the characteristics of the previous film, where there is a lot of outstanding dialogue between James and Celine characters. I was amazed how the chemistry of Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy is still phenomenal and there is no difference or performance that has decreased from the previous film. This proves that ethan and julie's chemistry is truly amazing and is at the top level in film.

I really like the continuity of the story here. Even though it's not complex, you will still be able to enjoy it very well. The dialogue that is delivered still reflects the ideas, thoughts, and feelings of the two characters here. I also really like the linklater directing style with lots of one-take shots, not too aesthetic but still very beautiful. technically, a film like this doesn't need a captivating filmographic aesthetic, because the characters and the story itself have succeeded in making this film great.

Best Quote: Its Not Perfect but Its Real
22 August 2020
What an awesome trilogy! There is one quote here which is said by James which can describe the entire contents of the film here, namely; "its not perfect, but its real". This third film really reflects how you have to think realistically but still have to maintain a sense of romance between 2 lovebirds. I like how the depiction of James and Celine who are no longer young, when they are adults, there will be more misery than happiness, but that's what love means, how these 2 characters try to find a way from all problems.

I always made mezmerise from the acting and chemistry of Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. they managed to maintain the quality of their character's connection even though it was 20 years from the first film. The dialogue given here is certainly very complex from the previous films. I like how Linklater can develop these 2 characters very far and well even though it only consists of 3 films, with a distance of 9 years as of the film.

I Expect More
22 August 2020
Honestly, I really like the main concept in this film. Involves a lot of parties, but still evenly distributed in the screentime distribution. Cgi is pretty good, and all the power that is displayed here in my opinion is pretty cool. However, for me personally, I feel that a concept like this can be executed better here in some aspects. There are many super-zoom shots but they are not balanced with the right scene for super zoom shots. The film would also be a little better if it used more organized framing and cinematography. really a very good concept but lacking in terms of aesthetics. There are also some parts that I think are still being forced into the plot. I like the scoring tho, very intriguing.

You can see here Joseph Gordon Levitt and Jamie Foxx really stand out in their quality of acting (Glad to See Levitt Back). of course, experience proves everything. Apart from the two of them, all of the cast displayed mediocre acting. They are still learning tho, so I don't blame them, I hope the best for their future films.

Beautiful Potrayal of Art!
22 August 2020
This movie is really beautiful. all the aspects in this film amaze me, all of them really fulfill the artistic aspects, according to the main subject. The plot is almost the same as 'call me by your name', but for me, this film brings out more beauty and has a better appeal. All the characters here are so charming, I like the fact that around the first 30 minutes there isn't any interaction between the 2 lead characters, even they haven't met at all. But the connection and the metaphors they provide are brilliant. You will be able to quickly understand what each character is feeling, and of course you will quickly fall in love with the character.

there is no scoring throughout the film, except for the last scene with the orchestra. Even without scoring, I don't think you will need a touch of scoring anyway, because the aesthetics of the cinematography that is displayed will already be very indulgent to watch this film. The framing and color palette are very aesthetic, I feel in love with every shot and scene. Truly one of the best films of 2019.

I Like This Kind of Action Movie
22 August 2020
Somehow there are many bad reviews about this film. In my opinion, this film is brilliant enough to wrap a crime thriller with lots of characters in it. I've watched enough action films, and this one is enough to meet my expectations in action films. The whole film feels very tense, with good action scenes, an interesting plot (especially the interconnections between the characters), and a little touch of interesting drama. Really a fantastic ride!

I like this film, but it still divides the screenplay between the characters quite evenly, even though the consequence is that each character can't be digged deeper into its characterization because of the problem of the screentime that focuses on the same core story. Even so, the story can treat it all. It's like an action film with a captivating adventure. All of the cast here are brilliant in playing their respective roles, thank goodness that getting lots of classy actors can help the plot and characters come alive. Scoring here is very important, because throughout the film, the scoring helps to feel the tension throughout the film. Not only scoring tho, but the cinematography here also makes tense with a typical take action but still can be enjoyed.

What a Performance!
22 August 2020
What an amazing performance! Having Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke here is like having two gold in one place. Since the beginning of the 2 characters that they played, I was immediately attracted and fell in love with the character. These 2 characters seem to have separate personalities or I can call it the relationship between bad cop and good cop, but somehow the chemistry that is given is very unified and seems inseparable.

The story is actually quite simple, but the complexity of what each character experiences makes it very interesting. The story is told quite slowly, but each scene has an important meaning in the story. The character development is very good, especially the hoyt character (Ethan Hawke), from scene to scene, the character grows even though it only takes one day's setting. Also, I like the last 45 minutes, these 2 characters seem like they have separate views and opinions and the atmosphere becomes more tense. The plot is very excelent, not complicated to understand but still complex in the story. Overall, this is a good police / crime movie.

Still enjoyable
22 August 2020
I think this western film is quite good and very suitable for enjoying, not to think about. Indeed, there are many cliche touches that you usually find in other western films, but this film is still interesting for me personally, and I seem to ignore that cliche because I really enjoy this film, I really like it.

This is a kind of film that is fast pace, especially in gathering the seven members. Character recognition and background are made as simple and concise as possible. However, entering the 2nd act or the last 45 minutes, I really felt an exciting journey from this story. All of the characters are very like-able and cool, with their own characteristics and personalities. Really interesting casting, making Denzel (a senior actor who is always cool in his role) as the leader, with a reunion with his charming hawk, and a successful pratt with his comedic-center, as well as the rest of the cast who are also stunning. Of course you can't expect more screentime balance and character depth, this is a risk with lots of good cast. The action scenes are very well-crafted and neat, and very jarring. Over all, its a good and enjoyable modern-western movie.

Kid's Point of View at War
22 August 2020
Many of the uniqueness of this film. This film has a distinctive story telling way by presenting war stories seen and conveyed by a young child. Not only small children, but I think this film wants to show warfare from the civilian side. All the characters here are also very charming, you will easily like the characters quickly. You will not be surprised why Gareth Bale has been so successful and has totality in his various films as you see him here. Even though he was very young at the time, his acting performance was very powerful and captured the audience's attention very well.

This is one of Spielberg's noteworthy works. You can see the editing, backsound, scoring, cinematography, and storytelling are in great harmony and inseparable from one another, what an extraordinary combination. Over all, not only is the technical combination enchanting, but also the story and the beauty of this film itself is already enchanting. You can feel sadness, joy, togetherness, and pain, all in one war-themed film, and things like this are very rare for you to find. I pay my respects to Stephen Spielberg and Gareth Bale.

Really Touching Post Dystopian Movie
22 August 2020
Casey Affleck's directorial debut turned into an emotional and intense film. The powerful dialogue from the father and son characters here makes the film develop from the beginning to the end very well. This proves that from the beginning of the script, this film is already strong in its plot. The concept itself is very unique, with a post-dystopian theme, but the theme is only for the background of the story, and instead focuses on a story of struggle, adventure, and journey which is still very good without any shortcomings as the story progresses. Every moment felt real and very believable, also very touching story.

Casey Affleck certainly plays an essential role here. Working as a director, writer, and actor here, does not make his performance diminish in any of these jobs. The directorial can be enjoyed very much with lots of shots and cool camera work and a story arrangement that is easy to understand, with 30 minutes of opening the introduction as well as forming very cool chemistry, and after that which focuses on the core of the story but does not lose the core of the father-son relationship. The scoring is also not bad for a post-dystopian film class. As a writer, the script is very well written, as evidenced by the many profound essential dialogues of each character. As an actor, his acting is really endearing. Shouout is also for Pniowski whose brilliant acting can match Casey's performance.

Happy Feeling
22 August 2020
I feel happy after watching this film. This film is very beautiful and I easily get carried away with the atmosphere and feel of this film. This is one of the types of coming of age movies that I like. The content of the story is not like the cliche coming of age films in general. I felt there was a difference that distinguished this film from other coming of age films. It is not only about love, but there is a deeper meaning to the story and its characters. There are also many excellent metaphorical depictions and book excerpts inserted here.

The story itself is truly profound. It really tells what youth life is that maybe many of you can relate, that's why this film captures teenage intrigue so perfectly. The backsound and the soundtrack are now very imprinted on my brain. The song "Take Care" from the Beach House. The exploration of the 2 lead characters here is delivered very nicely by the plot, as well as the charming acting of Austin Abrams and Lili Reinhart. There are some pretty, manipulative shots that are great for eyecatching. Overall, its beautiful, wonderful, and deep into your heart. Good Movies to recommend all of you to watch. Great Job from Amazon Prime Videos!

I Expect More
13 August 2020
To be honest, I expected more from this film. I felt this film fulfilled the value of the hollywood verse rather than fulfilling the story that this film wanted to lift. I really like how this film tries to raise family conflicts set in Africa, with Islam as its theme. But in some parts, I feel the interpretation of Islam here is messy when there is a Hollywood romance verse here. I mean, how can a woman for years adhere to strong holy teachings, but like collapsing when she meets a man (played by Yahya Abdul Maten). apart from that, i really like acting dakota fanning. The Arabic that Fanning does is practically perfect, and also, how she prays, and behaves as Islam.

Despite everything, the backstory that is lifted from the main character here is very interesting. it is very rare that we can find hollywood films that carry stories based on Islam. not a lot of cinematography and special scoring, but the story is quite interesting despite all the flaws and verses.

Very Bear
13 August 2020
This film can be said to bear in all aspects, but that does not mean this film is bad. This film has its own charm, such as taking on a comedy theme but in a western setting (it's really rare to use this kind of thing), by hooking up Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska. but unfortunately this film really supports comedy, crime, and the drama part. I feel like all the themes have been successfully lifted but it doesn't work optimally. and again, who's playing the character is also vague.

even so, the attractiveness of the story could treat all of that a little. Robbert Pattinson's ridiculous acting really made an impression on my brain. and also, mia wasikowska made me stunned because throughout her appearance, she managed to portray a woman full of anger and courage, which i have never seen before her appearance like that. Personally, I think this film is in the middle level, so it's not bad, it's not good either. not a lot of scoring to compensate for the cool framing. over all, its interesting western story.

absurd but work very well
13 August 2020
At first, I didn't have high hopes for this film. but after watching the whole thing, I was so impressed with this film. very unique when an idea that is so absurd and very simple like this can make the whole film very funny. The story itself tells of Carl (Jim Carrey) whose short story has to say yes to everything, otherwise he will suffer bad luck. all the objects and subjects that are here are maximized to perfection. over all, i was pleasantly surprised.

Thank you and my standing ovation to Jim Carrey. once again he proved that he was very exceptional in the role as a lead actor in comedy films. although the majority of the film's story is comedy, the romance here is also amazing. I love how this film can mix comedy and romance in a perfect and balanced way. The chemistry set up by Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel works pretty well.

One of the best scifi movie in 2010s
13 August 2020
I can say this is one of the best sci-fi films of the 2010s. In the 1st act or the prologue, this film feels like it's in a hurry to convey the summary of its backstory. however, you will find out why at the beginning it feels accelerated, that's because before the core of the story, you will be presented with a pretty mindblowing storyline. I really feel mesmerized with cgi treats and amazingly cool special effects.

with stunning special effects, this film is also supported by cinematography techniques and magnificent scoring from start to finish. several times I found good framing in shooting some scenes, mostly scenes from tom cruise. talking, about acting, you definitely won't deny how the totality and perfection of Tom Cruise's acting is. all the cast also I think put on a brilliant performance even though Tom Cruise took all the attention to him. Lastly, I think this film could potentially be used as a sequel or made a prequel.

exchange of ideas in romance
13 August 2020
This is why I like Richard Linklater. The film is not complex, there are not many conflicts, but it can still attract the attention of the audience very well. throughout the film we are presented with very captivating dialogue. all of the dialogue seems to contain an exchange of ideas between the 2 main characters, which I really like is a typical romance film like this. james and celine exchange ideas and thoughts, which is a very interesting way to fall in love.

The chemistry between ethan hawke and julie deply is absolutely perfect. we can see how each scene they are executed so perfectly. I really like the part where they're both in the music box, and looking at each other and looking away from each other. really classy acting. There are not many super cinematographies or fancy scoring impressions, but indeed the type of film is linklater, he can make drama material special without technical assistance and film aesthetics.
