Good, but wish they'd show the routines
23 July 2021
This is a good documentary that gives a lot of insight to the lead up going to the Olympics, and it profiles the impressive ladies well. However, it bothers me that only the last 15 minutes of the episodes are super short and cut up routines. I know they wouldn't have time for much more footage if they showed all the full routines, but I would have liked to see more actual gymnastics, even if it was cut down.

Don't listen to the 1s, don't even watch the trailer
7 May 2020
I went into this movie knowing nothing and I have to say, it's definitely one of the better random horrors I've stumbled upon. Very confused by all the 1 star reviews here. Seriously? At the very worst I would give it a 6 for overtly obvious references to other films, but it wouldn't be fair because I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It's not on the same level as Hereditary, but it's certainly worth a watch. Also recommend if you enjoy indie films like Coherence. I can't imagine why anyone would give this a 1 - it's a classic premise with some unexpected twists, what's not to like!?

Going to repeat the narrator thing
30 April 2020
I couldn't even make it through the preview because she is SO ANNOYING. It is such an automatic turn off. Please find new narrators Netflix. I'm sure this person is great, but it sounds like the same person that narrates, The Circle and Too Hot to Handle and she drove me crazy during those shows too (yes I have a reality TV problem). I feel like I could do a better job narrating these shows and I hate my voice. Please Netflix. Stop ruining shows with this.

Good show, could be a half hour shorter
19 November 2018
I've watched the first two episodes of Dogs and already cried several times. These are definitely some heartwarming stories that remind us how Man's Best Friend earned his title. However, there is an excessive amount of b-roll in this series. I find myself waiting for a cut to something that adds to the story during long periods of dramatic b-roll. It would be fine if they didn't drag it out so much. My take: cut the fat, make this a 30 m show, and it could be a hit!

Warning: Spoilers
I really want to like this show, so I am holding out, but damn if they aren't making it difficult. Yes, it is intriguing, I like the dark atmosphere of the episodes and the acting is great, but....that's about it. We are learning more about the characters, but the case itself seems to be going in circles. It would be difficult to even put a spoiler in this because I don't know much more than I did after the first episode.

I read the book a few years ago, so though I don't remember all the details, I know who the killer is in the end. I'm not sure if this is taking away some of the enjoyment for me, but it is getting seriously difficult to stay awake. I would be less concerned if this was not episode four of an eight episode series. We're halfway through guys! I honestly can't make a distinction between the last three episodes.

I will watch next week, but if it's another snoozer, I'm out.

13 Reasons Why (2017–2020)

Very unconvincing
2 June 2018
I enjoyed the first season of this show, though wasn't the best thing I've ever watched. Everything about this season premiere is bad. The camera work. The acting. The writing. Yikes.

Everything about it seems very forced and unnatural.

I was skeptical after the first season and this confirmed my suspicions that this one would bomb. I might make a hollow attempt at the second episode but it seems unlikely. The only impressive thing about this episode is whoever is fitting these costumes. Not styling them (god no) - but the point is I was so bored that the well fitted clothing is my only takeaway.
