Great movie and worth the watch
12 December 2022
I came across this by accident... and I wondered why I hadn't heard of it?

I have new respect of Depp as an actor and this movie proves it and was memorise throughout, and feel he would have been the only actor to consider for this roll.

The movie itself is funny, in a dry way, and this continues throughout the movie, but the sadness only really comes into effect near the end. It shows off Depps great acting skills, and this I had to admire.

Fantastic movie and certainly deserves a higher rating.

For those who rated this one star.... You certainly don't understand entertainment and actor's achievements.

Well worth the watch.

WTF was that??

I thought it would be an ok movie, and then the acting started. Yeek. There won't be any spoilers in this review, as just to watch it is a spoiler. As for plot... talk about a story going no where... ??

Wow- Fabulous
14 December 2021
Wasn't quite sure what this series was about, but was hooked in the first 15mins. Well written, well directed, never boring, and each episode became more delicious.

Now for season 2 and hope it is as good.

Well worth watching.... Warning: It is a Binger!

Yes folks, if you suffer from Insomnia, just watch this film.

The dubbing is terrible, but the dragon and the flying imp are cute.

This was Great

Warning: Spoilers
As a boatie, you Aquire a lot knowledge, and you have to think on your feet, should any trouble arise, and this is exactly what he did. As a boatie for many years, I watched with glee as he went about devising solutions to the get himself out of trouble... and believe me, when you are in trouble off shore... you work it.... Your life depends on it.

Yes, there were elements whereby I probably would have pulled all the doors off, after the 'head' (toilet) drama, so as not to be locked in again... and would have sent a signal /flare from the yacht first, when spotting the other vessel in the distance, instead of hopping onto his makeshift raft, half cocked, and paddling towards it.

But other then a few minor elements, I would have done different, this was a good watch... and was impressed with the acting and suspense it held.

I think in real life, the dialogue would have been increased a lot more if it had of been me... with many, many profanities, but it is a movie, and you don't want to ruin the script... Lol.

Possessed, or is someone on board... well, I know which way I'm leaning...

Far Fetched and Entertaining
11 June 2020
Well, that was a surprisingly entertaining movie. Some have mentioned flaws, but how can you have flaws in a far fetched, over the top movie! If you're wanting a good entertaining mix of fast paced action, with a mix of Guy Ritchie influences, and are happy with a bit of gruesome blood scenes, and don't take it seriously, then you will enjoy this. It had my attention. Well worth the watch.

Enjoyable but show format backfired
6 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The only thing that I can really make fault with is the format of the show... and the Ding Dongs. All contestants are talented and like with all creative people, they have their own style and with any competition, it is designed to broaden the mind of the contestants and have them step out of their square and be good at everything. This was good until the last five contestants. They gave 'immunity' for one contest, which back fired in the following contests. One contestant, who should not have been there, because she didn't manage to finish in time, or was just off the mark, but kept on winning in the Face Off, which in turn eliminated one of the best contestants, who should have been in the finals...not the face off queen. I feel this was felt by the judges, and they realised the format was not really fare. The show was enjoyable, and if you can ignore the DING DONGS, then I hope there is another Season with the format slightly changed. It just wasn't fare for someone to be in the semi final because she was always in the red chair, always in the face off.... this was disappointing

OMG!
15 February 2020
Believe me when I say it will be suicidal to venture past the first scene. But should you wish to take the risk, by all means do. You will be hammered with bad acting, rubbish storyline, and Christian propaganda. My advise is to fast forward from the end of scene one straight to the end credits. Terrible!

Well done New Zealand!
22 January 2020
This movie, has given me a new appreciation of the New Zealand movie industry. What a surprise!... and a worthy one at that. This was hilarious! The director/writers/actors/editors were brilliant. Some of the scenes left you laughing out loud and were so cleverly thought out. It not your usually 'horror' theme, with the usual gore, so if you expect that, then move on. The main character and her mother really make the movie, and as I wrote earlier, this movie opened my eyes up to the New Zealand movie trade. I'm not going to spoil you with what it about, so the best way to watch this movie is to not know much at all, and you will be pleasantly surprised. This movie, has been one I recommend for others to see, as its entertaining, funny, and you won't just get a smirk on your face but a good laugh out loud experience. Well done New Zealand.

Guilty! I enjoyed it.
22 January 2020
If you want to get the full effect of this series, turn off the dubbing and use the subtitles. It is much better. The series was good, with elements of the supernatural and visions involved. It was a little questionable in the editing and acting of a couple of characters sometimes, and maybe a few holes in the story content, but I let that fly, and led me to continue watching, mainly because of the story, as this was the main area that kept me there and continued to binge through and enjoyed it, until the last scene....were I was a little confused, so I looked up the meaning to the ending and it all made sense.

If there is another season, I will be surprised, as the ending does not indicate this, and the writers will have to have something REALLY convincing for me to watch it.

The few 'holes' in the story, make you wonder what everyone else does during the day and where, but you let that pass and continue watching the main characters, but all up, it kept me glued and enjoyed it.

I won't spoil it, so if you don't get the ending, look it up and it will all come together and you will appreciate the premise of the story.

Interesting and Hooks you in.
15 January 2020
Not being French and relying subtitles, I was hooked from the word go and there has to be something in it for me to continue watching. If the acting was that bad then I wouldn't watch it, but there were moments when you forgave a few things and I blame the director for that. The director of any movie/series, is the most important person and if he lets bad acting fly in, then it's his rep that's on the line. The story has good premise, there is a little over acting in some parts, but you let that go, with a roll of the eyes. There are moments where the 'pause is too long' and times you want to strangle the script writer with some of the dialogue, (subtitle translation) but you are drawn in to the story and you forgive these things. The acting was fine, the story good, and leaves you with a sense that there would be another season, or happy with the ending as is. I watch a lot of movies and series, and I can tell you that the ratings of many of these are incredible, and as for this show, I think a 7 is fair. I found it good, and it kept me watching... isn't that what is all about.

Shakespeare Fan
9 December 2019
It amazes me how other reviewers even bothered to write a review and gave this a one star rating, when their understanding of cinematography, acting is obviously limited and their appreciation of Shakespeare nil. To think they expected an action packed Hollywood action film with modern language would be developed from Shakespeare is like turning Thomas the Tank Engine into Thomas Pink Convertable. Of course this could be done in Hollywood, but it would be a comedy. This is a 'tragedy' and once that's realised, the mood of the play will be understood. I have never had a problem with understanding Shakespeare and have always appreciated and found it challenging to read into its meaning. The movie is fabulous and should be looked at what it represents and for what it is and not for what people think it should be. Others have appreciated it and if there were problems with understanding, they turned on the subtitles... even then you will need to read deeper to understand their words in modern English. The acting is superb, cinematography excellent. Well worth the watch and if not familiar with the play, just read up on this tragedy first, as you will then appreciate this movie. Well done.

Eyes Wide Open

What a beauty!.... This is one series I won't forget... it has a bit of everything, and it does not fail. When it first started, I picked up that this was going to be subtle comedy, and after the first 'departed ', I sat in awe, as I knew this was going to be special, and it was. Well and truly worth the watch...I would put this in my top 10 list. Enjoy, and take it for what it is and you will 'get it'...Excellent

Really?
20 August 2018
Why on earth, would this movie be remarketed and packaged out again after 10 years. This is good example of why I hesitate with Aussie movies. The only horror to come out of this movie, was the horror that it was ever made! Having grown up in Australia and spending a huge amount of my activities camping etc....one of the most important part of any trip is back up. Good grief! The movie was so bad with so may holes, that I just wanted to dig a hole for myself to hide my embarrassment. What made me laugh was that they get to the last leg and show a sigh of releif, then the movie ends with them on top of plateu surrounded by cliffs....Sorry, but when I look back on what I just saw, I just laugh!

Bad acting, editing and directing... The 'Horror' Team.

Sit Back and Enjoy
23 June 2018
It surprises me how so many people can't just enjoy a movie for what it is, and are are prone to just picking at its 'realism' To me the movie was entertainingly over the top and I enjoyed all that was going on. McCarthy is great in the role she is so good at. She is lucky to have that look that can be down played and perked up into something aluring with personality to match. I can relate to other students excepting her, as I too went back to college in my mature years and my fear was acceptance, and I was pleasantly surpirsed, that I was accepted for who I was, and had students more then half my age wanting to be my study buddy and invited to parties, so in reality, I saw the realism of this side of the story. The movie was entertaining, funny, and a feel good, so just enjoy it for what it is.

Hmmm
23 June 2018
If there is a movie that is not convincing, this is one of them. I am a little surprised at Ricci being in this, and not surprised that Cusack is. What ever happened to Cusack, are these the only parts on offer to him these days? The movie starts off OK, then folds beneath your eyes. In fact, I was laughing from when Cusack entered the scene. I am blaming the director and editing on this. He is just terrible. The scenes with him are trying to empasise intrigue and mystery and ended up a shambles. Really, I can't say much more, becasue in reality, the movie dosen't deserve it. I'm giving 5 stars for Ricci's sake.

Over the Top Rock again (smile)
23 June 2018
Look, I have to give credit to 'ol Rock, he seems to play the same part and throws in the humour and if anything, he dosen't disappoint in any of his movies. The movie is over the top, but anything he is in, is usually this way, but I give credit for an hour of half of entertaining drivel, with outrageous mamoth creatures, and thrown in comic releif, but if there was anything to critisise, it was that the green/blue/background screen effects were poor. Other then that, sit back, put your feet back, and just enjoy another 'Hollywood' over the top RAMPAGE on your screens. I wouldn't think any further then that. (smile)

Excellent!
23 June 2018
I love British shows and constantly on the search for new ones coming up and rarely am I not disappointed. Michael C Hall is one of the main leads, and am an avid fan of his from his Dexter days, and it was good to see him another role, that he pulled off so well. The show was full of suspense, with flash backs to explain events, and really, this was a binge watch....it was long enough, and even then you wished there was more. Perfect. Excellent acting, directing and editing. Binge to Unhinge!

Not Sure
23 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really not sure how I feel about this show. It started off with intrigue, then we were led into scenes that, in my eyes, seems a little over the top. Possibily, my persona would react differently, so I had to apply empathy to how others would react in situations pertaining to themselves. Having experienced the main characters reason for the show's premise, but of the 'higher calibre' , I felt that her reaction was over the top and that of someone who has been 'totally violated'. Teenage life is full of sexual discovery, and as she was already 'in the know', in truth, it didn't ring true. I managed to watch the whole season, but I'm not sure that I will be waiting in anticipation for season 2, like such shows as Dexter or Game of Thrones. Having done film and editing, I would say the acting is good, the directing is good, but I feel the Editing didn't quite 'cut it', to enpower the suspense that should have been erupted. I was literally saying out loud, 'oh for petes sake, get on with it' during 'dramatic' scenes, that were being dawn out. Ten episodes and to get this far, really? Six or seven would have covered it. Maybe season 2 will be a little more exciting and concentrate more on the actual 'pulse' of the show, and not emphasise on a sexual assult.

Actually, It Rocked!
21 June 2018
This was surprisingly good. It had a message to give out, but it was well acted, and directed and for those who watch it will be pleasantly surprised. The rating given is so silly and deserves at least a 7, but I am sure it has been brought down by the 'Amy Haters'. Good grief, grow up and give merit for the movie itself. Amy has done a great job, and for those who feel it might portray elements of her on stage performances, it is far from it. Amy gives a good performance and have to say that I was impressed with her performance. Give it a go and you won't me disappointed...it Rocked!

Fun and Laughs
25 July 2017
Being a great fan of Goldie's, she doesn't fail with her Goldie Walk....love it. The movie has some extreme over the top characters, but that doesn't take away from the movie. There were many laugh out loud spots and they were well executed. I feel both the female leads did a good job and if anything will ridicule reviewers that gave this entertaining movie such a bad rating. Movies are for entertainment, and yes it was a little vulgar in parts, but nothing that is not anywhere else in today's movie world. It was fun, it doesn't drag out, and the rapport between Goldie and Amy was great. I would give this movie a seven, but pumped it up because of the unfounded bad ratings from others. Go the Tape Worm!

26 June 2017
What a fantastic adaption of King Arthur. The beauty of movies is seeing a well known myth/legend, that has been made over a over again, and adapting a different slant to a story with imaginative execution. 10 out of 10 Guy, you should be proud. You've yet again, made another entertaining and dramatically different movie with your signature all over it....Love it. The acting is tremendous, with a small part from Beckham, looking very much in character, and adding humour in just the right places. If you want to see King Arthur as you have usually seen portrayed, then this is not for you, BUT if you want realism, mixed with mythical magic, action with a twist of Guy, then you WON'T be disappointed. It is such a shame to read the low reviews as I feel they just don't get the idea of movie making. They are supposed to be entertaining, and I feel that many have not seen the style of Guy Richie. This is Well Worth the Watch.(WWW)

Hmmm, Love it or Hate it
14 May 2017
I would have to say the first episode was hilarious, but after that, each episode seemed to echo the others....screaming matches, cursing...Really? Goodness, I would feel extremely embarrassed if I was one of these....Ladies?....no.... I think the term is 'Wannabes'. I know it's a show, and there is a certain amount of ad-lib script in there and contract commitment clauses, but I can see why there was a certain amount of reluctance from some of the hubby's to show their faces. BUT, if you want to take it seriously then you will despise it, But if you want to have a cackle, have the ability to fast forward, when the need arises, enjoy the laughter of Maddy and her comic relief lips, roll your eyes back during X's psychotic rants, and endure the insecurities of Lisa's wild imagination and sexual suppression, Victoria's 'for God Sake' rants and Nicole's' contradictions, then I would have to say, enjoy it. Go Krissy...and Maddy, you both seem to be the only ones, who have endured a certain amount of normality and good humour, under the circumstance, said any truths and have been true to who you are.
