Tape 407 (2012)
Trish and Jess were the worst!!! Headache medicine req'd
Get your exceedingly, Tylenol or whatever headache medicine you use because you will need it to watch this film. The only part that was decent was the beginning on the airplane. However, from the beginning the little girl Trish who states she's 13 but acts like impetuous five-year-old and the nonstop antagonizing of passengers around her was absolutely sickening . After the crash, it only proceeded to get worse the screaming and squealing on top of each other. The most ridiculous behavior specifically from Trish and Jess worst acting ever my head is throbbing. I can't believe I'm 50 minutes in and I'm still functioning.
The Prince (2014)
Annoying, unrealistic supporting character
I wanted to love this movie... Bruce Willis and all but the friend of The Prince's daughter drove me nuts. Her awful acting, whining voice, unrealistic need to keep her head up while being shot at in the car scene.... Omg. Really made it unwatchable after 45 min. But I about I pressed on because of the main character "The Prince". He delivered a mysterious, laser focused dad, turned assassin, turned father on a mission... Nothing like a father in search of his "little girl" with the mercenary skills to get the job done while inspiring fear along the way. The Bruce Willis portion of the story was a nice side bar, IMHO. Not terrible... Just could have done without Beth's friend ditsy approach to the character.
All the Queen's Men (2021)
The writing and acting is the worst!!!
I really tried with this show. The repeating if the same lines over and over, making the characters seem stupid is sooo hard to watch. Unfortunately this is the norm in Tyler Perry movies. Blue's character is not believable at all. The only characters and acting that regularly carry the show are the main dancers and their choreography on stage is good. I can't understand why the writer's of Tyler Perry's shows get the same feedback about the acting, the repeated lines ( like they are unaware of what normal conversations sound like) and bad acting hasn't encouraged them to improve their craft over the years... But all of these shows are the same. I just can't watch without fast forwarding to the dancers... The rest of this show is painful 😖😣
Mayfair Witches (2023)
The actress playing Rowan - awful for this role _ Ep6
I'm not sure if its how she's been directed to portray Rowan or her acting should/interpretation of the character but it's awful. The weak, fragile, needy, lacking confidence portrayal of Rowan both as a neurosurgeon and around her new family, as a witch is not the character Anne Rice developed in the book. Even in her encantatiin in Ep6, I had to mute the TV because I could no longer bare the squealing, mousy, unsure take on a powerful witch calling in the formidable demon, Lasher. I'm trying to understand why this actress was chosen for a role that should have so much depth and presence...hmmm, aesthetics don't make the character convincing and as a central figure for the series... It's hard to buy into the show following such a flat actress for this character. I really wanted to like it but I give up. I'll keep reading the book series 😒
Reasonable Doubt (2022)
Jax is the reason for the rating
Overall the show premise and story, while typical is good. What makes it hard to watch is the character Jax and the actress protraying her. Jax is an awful friend, wife and mom... She is hypocritical and egotistical to everyone around her, placing herself and what she does on a pedestal. And the actress tries to hard, and fails miserably, in her efforts to be"urban"... Feels forced. And please get her better wigs 😫
I'm not sure why this show is compared to any version, rework or otherwise of Scandal. Everything about Scandal ( from the legal and political accuracy to the actors and actresses.. Especially Kerry) is far Superior. I'm honestly only watching to see if Brayden is guilty and if Lewis gets the backbone to leave the Narcissist that is his wife, Jax.
Immanence (2022)
Thought provoking...
I initially saw this as a supernatural alien meets religion movie but I was so wrong. It challenged science to apply its hypothesis against long held biblical stories when signs of "the devil" and therefore the existence of God were revealed. Also very interesting about the devil being given"dominion over water, showing why Jesus walked on water' as referred to in the movie made me go digging for more information on this. In the end, to see the true reason the devil in the movie was allowed to interfere but still required to allow the group to choose to give up Jonah was really because God ( in the movie) wanted to restore the faith of Naomi... And then having her be born again after dying for 3 minutes underwater in the cage... That was powerful to me. Loved this movie... Very unexpected.
Jane the Virgin (2014)
Jane is the most annoying character ever!!!
The most judgemental, hypocritical superior character I've ever seen. I absolutely can't stand her walking contradictions and imposing her religious and social views on everyone around her while failing to live up to her own unrealistic, holier than thou standards. I constantly wished Rafael would leave her.
