Wow just.. WOW! So amazed how good this was!
5 May 2023
I had no idea this would be so good. I wish I saw this in theaters! It's like Guardians of the Galaxy but in D&D setting and for me it was even better. I can't believe how perfect they nailed everything most fun about D&D. I've seen so many poor attempts over the years. The characters are all interesting, perfect Actor choices. That cameo was one of the funniest I've ever seen! This was honestly the best movie Ive seen in years. I loved all the hidden Easter eggs. The action scenes are choreographed magnificently with tons of creativity as D&D games should be. Humor was spot on. I'd just like to maybe have included some kinda tie in with actual D&D players in the real world. But really it so far exceeded all my ideas for it. I'm very picky on movies especially now with TV so good. I want depth and this movie is the perfect length to really tell a full story with full character development in an allotted time. Even the editing is surprisingly good. Everything just showed a ton of heart and passion for the project and I can definitely see this becoming a beloved cult classic like Dredd and other movies that didn't get enough credit in theaters. AAA+++!! All around! Renewed the wonder I had for Films I haven't felt since Mad Max: Fury Road.

Not so bad
5 July 2019
People need to be more reasonable. It's a miracle this third installment even got made. Obviously there was a very strong drive to finish the project even though they've had very little encouragement all along the way. The acting is good and on the budget it has it's much better than I expected. Many low budget projects would kill to look this good. Sure they have to shorten the elements from the Book just like they did with Game of Thrones. This is actually a better writing job than the last season of GOT which was just nuts. This follows the book OK, it get's the main themes across and many people just seem to want to hate Ayn Rand and do what they can to belittle the concepts. These days with the Strong leftist control of most all of mainstream media, you see these ideas coming across on some of the top College Campuses that used to be bastions for Free Speech, now they have been taken over by very totalitarian overseers that do anything to Squelch free speech and brainwash our kids to their insane ideologies. It's very surreal and hard to imagine how we let this happen, but there it is. Movies like this are important and need our support. The books of Terry Goodkind are fantasy books with these concepts too and are very good. It was a good movie overall and better than many new releases on Netflix. Give it a chance and give some slack too for the effort it took to even complete these three films with so much obstruction in Hollywood trying to prevent it.

Bad Writing of Book & Movie bring down acting.
26 December 2018
This movie is really just a gimmick to put people in a contrived scary predicament. There's no plan to explain why or how it got this way because the book doesn't either. It's like a King short story that just wants to give the scare but doesn't have time for anything more. Some things I really couldn't get past with both the book and the movie. How is it that everyone just figures out that people are dying because of something they saw? There's never any evidence explained, people just all quickly go to blinding themselves so they won't see it. Never do we see such experiments to determine if the threat was viral or something much more plausible. Ok so everyone is supposed to just go along with people just figured it out somehow. Fine. Then you have more unexplainable contrived things happen you have to just accept and go along with I won't spoil. Where The Quiet Place contrived it's gimmick to have to stay quiet "Hear No Evil" this one is the second monkey. "See No Evil" and if you want to see a movie about the last monkey you could check out Pontypool. There's your "Speak No Evil" gimmick film. A perfect trilogy for the 3 monkeys. But none are really brilliant. Some have better cinematography, writing, or acting. But they are very narrow and claustrophobic stories you can't consider outside the contrived bubble it exists in. Worth watching though for a few good moments maybe.

5 For Cinematography & Acting only.
3 October 2018
This film is another example of why going out to the Cinema is becoming less popular. Films like this can't compete with really good TV Dramas out today. They don't provide room for deep character development or a story to care about. We don't get enough films today like Shawshank Redemption that has a great beginning, middle, and end with lots of story and character development throughout it's run time. I didn't care for the original Sicario much but this one is worse in that it really doesn't seem to have any purpose. There's no buildup, or payoff. The goals are vague and nothing really gets accomplished. The directing is great, gunfights are well done, and superb acting all around but it just isn't meaningful or memorable in any way. It seems like the first episode of a good war on drugs series but we know there's not going to be another episode so there's no real reason to get invested in any of the characters thus making the 1.5 hours pretty much a waste of time that could be better invested in something more complete. It also didn't make a lot of sense. We are left with far too many unanswered questions but at the same time, you won't really care about having them answered. I'm glad I didn't pay to see this in the Theater.
