Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Wow it's bad...
I couldn't stop watching this shipwreck in hope of it becoming better.
The storyline is unoriginal, entire scenes felt ripped off from several movies. Script filled with cliche's.
The acting was too dramatic and felt very amateur (not in a good way). The fighting scenes were covered with special effects and a dramatic score - but were very unprofessional and many of the actors seemed poorly trained for fighting scenes (especially the main villain).
The movie felt like it was trying to overcompensate for a poor script with a lot of everything. Almost as if they'd given AI to write a script and it just put together the best scenes of other movies and put them all together.
Now for the story itself, it had 1 decent plot twist in which the heroes were in danger for a few minutes, ruined by a "saving scene" which i still don't understand.
Sorry but the bad reviews were true this time (and I'm usually very easygoing with movies, enjoying even the mediocre ones).
The Bureau of Magical Things (2018)
Perfect for young teenagers and family
Has a certain charm that keeps it interesting. They really did the best possible with a low budget and unknown actors.
Definitely worth watching.
Our Boys (2019)
Unmistakingly low quality
Waste of time.
Putting politics aside, the show just wasn't done well. From the character development, the script and the acting, it was just painful to watch.
Not what I was expecting from Cedar who has previously produced wonderful films.
