The Gentlemen (2024)
Great
Really refreshing, just a great watch! I binged the whole lot in one go. Don't judge. Kaya lost her accent very quickly, but the characters were brilliant.
Great seeing Vinnie being a different sort of character than he normally is. It is a Guy Ritchie series through and through. Full of little surprises!
Really in my opinion very enjoyable, and watchable to the extreme. If you love lock stock and also snatch, the film "the gentlemen" included. You will love this, as long as you love long format.
Actors fantastic, writing is amazing, the Netflixness is minimal, just generally a good Guy Ritchie series that needs no Madonna.
Monster (2022)
I dont know what to say
I am an Englishman and was born after his crimes. I have a fascination with this sort of thing, yet the killer is normally romanticized or you feel some form of sympathy for him.
This show just shows the deterioration of a person. That word is probably wrong, as his father was willing to admit he was an odd child, and did weird things, and a fathers prerogative was to protect his child. This show shows the descent (and odd lucid groundhog moments). Basically this show shows the reality as we know it today (from dahmer and others testimony).
It doesn't sugar coat or downplay it, just shows the true morbid nature of Dahmer.
(Typing this during the silent deaf scene (paused, I'm not that rude!) And just thought that even though I'm not a big "whodunnit" fan, or normal murder type shows, this was so good, and true)
Enjoy x.
Restaurant: Impossible (2011)
Kitchen Nightmare Ditto
I have watched one episode of this show, and it is literally a carbon copy of the kitchen nightmare format! Bad kitchen, chef comes in to see kitchen, head chef (HC) lies to presenter chef (PC). PC wants to see kitchen in action, and HC does silly things, PC brings them up on it and HC kicks off. HC then realises that PC is right. All is well.
Literally a Kitchen Nightmare rip off! Watch that, as Gordon is so much better!
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018)
Just as expected
Long time fan of the Coen brothers! This doesn't give you the satisfaction of one film, or two or even three! It has six! Each with a humbly and tragic ending or just downright depressing, but each with its own great thoughts! Not to give too much away, 6 great minisodes of insight into the wild west, which I am a keen fan. Bits of everything!
