Ali Wong: Don Wong (2022)
still funny with fresh material
I love her, her comedy of truths resonate with me. I really enjoyed this one and lol throughout. She gets raw and real in a few areas and and that's why it's funny bc there's truth behind it.
If you can't handle the truth then ali wong isn't for you.
Murderville (2022)
very difficult to watch even w/the special guests
It's over the top and not that funny or well "acted." I get what they're trying to accomplish, but it was so hard to watch and keep my attention. Many of the guest stars are not good with improv e.g. Annie Murphy was often at a lost for words and soft spoken and Will Arnett had to guide and help her out albeit over exaggerated.
Had to stop the pain.
Cyrano (2021)
Surprisingly good
I enjoyed the reimagining of this classic. It was different, romantic, yearning and heartbreaking. The music and rap was a nice addition. The costumes, set designs and the locations were great. Peter Dinklage was a great Cyrano.
Jim Gaffigan: Comedy Monster (2021)
Still Funny, Always Makes Me Smile
He's such a funny, intelligent and observant comedian. Always makes me laugh and smile. I love his smart clean humor. He easily transitions from different topics easily.
A Christmas Number One (2021)
Better than a Hallmark or a Lifetime movie!
I thought the Christmas song was actually pretty good. Found the song on Spotify/SoundHound. We need better Christmas songs.
This is at least watchable compared to all the whitewashed formulated Hallmark and Lifetime movies with the designated token black or half Asian person. Oh wait, this follows the exact formula.
When Nature Calls (2021)
just embrace the humour and the silliness!
The visuals are amazing and it pivots from the traditional animal/wildlife/nature shows, which is a nice change of pace. Dame Helen Mirren doesn't sound like she's taking herself too seriously in this show and sounds like she's embracing the humour and having fun. She does give a reason why she's doing this show in one of the episodes and it's a cheeky answer. It's nice to hear her laugh and do something different.
Perhaps you have to be in the right head space for this show or keep an open mind about it. It's not designed to be serious as the description says "funny" and categorized as a comedy and rated TV-14, those should've tipped you off. Definitely not for children as there are some adult humour and dialogue.
I actually enjoyed some of the silly dialogue and humanizing the animals. Hahaha, I actually chuckled out loud in ep. 2 around 25:12 during the ave maria opera scene, the dialogue was timed well. I re-watched that scene 3 times! The Matthew McOtterhey scenes were hilarious and so many more! I enjoyed the humour and silliness of it all.
Mulan (2020)
Barely Watchable
Wow...this was barely watchable. Turning Mulan into a "movie" was a wasted effort of time and a boatload of money. Disney has once again failed to delight customers by turning beloved animation into a barely watchable live-action movie in an effort to cash in on past laurels. Please Stop Remaking Animation into Live-Action.
