Reviews
The Baby-Sitters Club (2020)
I'm impressed!
I was hesitant to check out this series, considering it's made for children, but I saw that it had good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I just completed watching the entire first season, and I'm so happy I did, because it's a surprisingly great show and I loved it! I like that it wasn't too dumbed down/immature (*coughs* like most Disney shows are). It covered some topics that were a bit more serious which made it more interesting, but overall the series is still pretty light-hearted and fun, very enjoyable. One of the things I really appreciate about the show is it's casual LGBTQ+ representation!
I've never read the original books besides maybe a chapter or two, but now that I've seen the series, I'm curious about the books. I watched the series on my own but if you're a parent with kids, I think this would be good show for a family to watch all together! I'm definitely hoping for a season two.
Love, Victor (2020)
Better than "Love, Simon"
I had low expectations for this series, since I didn't like the movie, but I just finished up season one and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised! I liked it a lot. Compared to the movie this is, in my opinion, funnier, more relatable, and more realistic. The first episode was honestly kinda cringy, but after that, it started to pick up and I got invested in the storyline. Having a decent soundtrack is also a bonus!
Charmed (2018)
Pleasantly surprised
I thought I hated it at first but I decided to give it a second chance, after the first few episodes the story actually started to get interesting and it didn't seem as cheesy as the first episode. I'm glad they didn't just copy the original because that would be boring and pointless. I'm seeing lots of bad reviews and I'm guessing most of those people didn't watch the whole thing. I loved the original Charmed and I think this newer version is worth watching, at least the first season. I believe a season two is coming, but they honestly could have stopped at the end of season one, because it felt like a proper ending to me. Just go into this with an open mind!
