Pretty Little Liars: Hush, Hush, Sweet Liars (2016)
What on earth?
Marlene, you have officially ruined the show, ruined your chance of more viewers and pretty much EVERYTHING! I am never watching this pathetic excuse for a show, ever again!
Once again, two characters we don't care about turn to be the most important! Thank you, Marlene, for making it more confusing and stupider than ever!
The only thing that I was happy about, was the fact that Hanna and Caleb kissed. Other than that, it was awful.
Don't waste your time on this show. It is completely and utterly ruined.
Stag (2016)
Not sure what to think...
Stag is a fantastic mini-series. It's got good acting-, good- dialogue, good-(dark) humour. It's great. But, the last episode was a bit of a, how do I say this? Downfall.
A lot of things didn't really make sense. I mean, the scene where Johnners is about to shoot the moss-covered, murderous psychopath, Ledge yells "SHOOT!" And Johnners gets shot in the leg. And NO ONE seems to question why the moss-covered, murderous psychopath who shows no mercy, shot Johnners in the leg? At fairly close range?
Then we get to who the moss-covered, murderous psychopath is (and the clichés). To be honest, I didn't really mind who it was, I just wanted it to be someone within the Stag Party. And it was... sort of.
I basically counted two clichés. I know that's not a very big number and I know that every movie, TV and mini-series has clichés, but it's always nice to point them out:
1: Sophie (our moss-covered, murderous you get the picture) let's Ian go and and makes the deal of pretending that they never saw each other. Question: Why is she doing that? I mean, sure, he was telling her how Johnners betrayed Fran (Ian's sister and Johnners wife-to- be) and how he might betray her, too, but why believe him? I mean, he'll say anything to survive and get away from her. So why trust him? Because he's short?
2: The death of Johnners. Well, not his death, exactly, just the fact that Sophie was doing it. Ian places a bag over his head, Sophie comes in (carrying total silence) and hey-ho-what do you know, Johnners starts talking badly about her. Sophie gets angry, lets Ian go and puts Johnners through a meat-mincer. And that my friends, is a giant cliché I hate seeing. Not the meat-mincer part, the 'talking badly about me ally' part.
Anyway, I don't want to bang on but, hey, it is a review. Oh, and if you were to ask me which death was my favourite? Cosmo's. That was beautiful. Sad and bloody and scary but, beautiful.
Okay, now I'm starting to sound weird. Sorry.
Pretty Little Liars (2010)
Come on, Marlene!
When I first started to (binge) watch Pretty Little Liars, I loved it. The plots was great, the acting was great, the dialogue was great, everything was great... Then Marlene King (the writer of the show) decided that she wanted to make a bit more money, and chose to keep this show going for OVER SIX YEARS. And the best part? There is going to be a seventh season and (maybe) a movie. A movie! Why? Why do we need that?
Seasons one, two and three were awesome. You wanted to know who A was, but also sort of didn't. Now you've had enough and just want to know. Obviously, I'm glad that they didn't leave it at CeCe and Sara Harvey (two boring and no-need-for characters) being the A team. It all went downhill at season four. It became boring and the characters didn't do anything but talk to each other about how scary A was, instead of actually doing something about him/her. But, still curious, I chose to continue watching.
Now, we're at the present. With the second half of Season six and five years forward. After a while, Charlotte is let out and free to sing with the birds and dance under the sun. And then, she dies. In the first episode! I mean, seriously? You couldn't have kept her and have her character evolve for a few more episodes? She couldn't have more screen time? And now a creepy, texts like a 13 year-old A has appeared and you'd think the Liars would be a bit more careful, a bit more truthful and a bit less "We suspect everyone!".
Nope. They're back to their dumb high-school selves. And not one of them is with their high-school sweetheart. I mean, why are Spencer and Caleb dating? Obviously it's not going to last, but, really?
Anyway, I may write another review when the show has FINALLY ended, and I most probably won't watch until the finale. I mean, I'm hardly going to miss anything, except a break up, a betrayal and maybe a death. You know, the usual.
Come on, Marlene, you can do better than this!
Death in Paradise (2011)
Great at first
Death In Paradise is fantastic and I would recommend it to everyone! Well, I'd recommend the First and Second season.
When Ben Miller left, the program became a bit rubbish at first, but then, I guess, I got used to it and continued to watch. Then Sara Martins and Gary Carr left and it went downhill from there. The writing became sloppy, the acting became poor and it was just awful! Josephine Jobert and Tobi Bakare's characters are completely useless, Kris Marshall's acting is cringe-worthy and Danny John-Jules is about as funny as a chicken crossing the road.
Take my word for it, this program is NOT worth watching anymore and should have ended when Camille left.
