What/If (2019)
Writer's Room must have been drunk
So many ridiculous subplots behind an equally ridiculous main story. Revengecreators wrote this drivel. Renee Zellwegger is the only reason to watch. Everyone else is wasted.
Wrongfully Accused (2019)
How did they lower the bar? It was already almost ground level
This. Is. Bad. REALLY REALLY BAD. Bad acting,
Terrible plot,
No energy.
Why did they make this?
Many Lifetime Movies are bad. This one sets a new standard for awful.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
First Four Episodes Were Excellent
The 6th was ridiculous The two plot twists at the end really made me disappointed that I watched this. Great acting except for the last 15 minutes. Then it became cartoonish.
London Has Fallen (2016)
Lifetime Movie for Men
I loved Die Hard. This isn't as good as that. I love Morgan Freeman. He's done better movies than this. And I love adventure novels with characters like Jack Reacher, Harry Bosch, Mitch Rapp and others. Mike Banning is an excellent addition to this group!
To that end, London has Fallen is an escapist action movie with a thin plot and some very silly lines. The bad guys are one dimensional. And the good guys are pretty much one dimensional too. Plus, it's impossible that all this stuff would happen. And, oh yes, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is the HERO. He's not going to die no matter how many people are there to kill him. There are sequels to be made! (Angel Has Fallen).
This is basically a Lifetime Movie for Men. But the acting is better and the plot is a little sturdier. I loved it for what it is.
Don't expect an Oscar movie. Just enjoy the ride!
King of the Corner (2004)
Great Movie and Great Opportunity
How often do you get to see an excellent film and then participate in a question and answer session with the director afterwards? King of the Corner offers this rare opportunity as director and star Peter Riegert is travelling around the US with this movie. His tour schedule is at the film's website www.kingofthecornerfilm.com.
The movie itself is a wonderful ensemble film centering on the life of Leo Spivak (Riegert), a middle aged Jewish man with a lot of problems. His job at a market research firm doing focus groups is mundane, his father (wonderfully played by 90 year old Eli Wallach) is angry, his teenage daughter is out of control and his marriage (to the wonderful Isabella Rossellini) is in a rocky period. The movie focuses on all aspects of Spivak's life without solving his issues.
The acting is great, the movie is entertaining, and Riegert does a marvelous job in his role as co-writer, director and star. There are funny and sad parts and it will make you think. I recommend it highly.
