Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: A Dark Quiet Death (2020)
I'm bereft of speech
You know you've struck gold when the moments in which the characters say the most, are those in which they say nothing at all. The writing, the acting, the underlying message. It's impeccable.
This was amazing, and I honestly can't wait to re-watch it for the 4th time.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Fortnite dab me off this Earth
I had originally written a much longer, more detailed review in an attempt to pick apart this Greek tragedy as Marvel Studios officially exits caring-- stage left.
In the end, I ultimately decided to simply present a side-by-side view of Infinity War (IW) and Endgame (EG) over 2 major criteria:
Criteria 1 : The almost comedic devolution of the characters.
Thanos:
(IW) Three Dimensional and overall incredibly well-rounded villain. Portrayed as being afflicted with overwhelming grief which he overcomes only through his deep-seated foundational belief in 'restoring balance' to the universe, irrespective of the cost.
(EG) Amish. Reduced to the 'evil because evil' trope.
Thor:
(IW) Learns through the virtue of self-sacrifice, the innate and immutable responsibility one of royalty inherits through their birth-right, to be a just and able successor to their father, for the betterment of their people.
(EG) Broken-spirited has-been, reverts back to being a man-child.
Hulk:
(IW) Useless.
(EG) Somehow more useless.
Hawkeye:
(IW) Who.
(EG) Cares.
Criteria 2 : The plot being created by a deep learning robot skimming bad fan-fics.
On its own, honestly, isn't the worst film I've ever seen. Certainly very enjoyable, well-choreographed, sprinkled in there's some nice cinematography, littered with (for the most part) seamless CG, only a few editing mishaps, and with a some excellent quips here and there. Apart from that, however, it falls short on almost every metric.
What made EG especially disappointing was that IW felt like such a well-executed and promising first-act film for this follow-up to be just such an overwhelming let-down in comparison.
Overlooking the fact that this film has plot-holes large enough to navigate a burning blimp through. In the end it can all honestly be boiled down to simply being a little too overly concerned with being political, and in turn ended up being a very blatant cash-grab by Disney, along with some pretty flagrant beat-you-over-the-head, out of left field, virtue signaling.
Captain Marvel inexplicably gets a haircut off-screen. Thor delegates his throne to Valkyrie on a whim. Cap' passes off the shield to Falcon. It all just seems like a PC Twitter user's fever dream. Everything is just so arbitrarily connected that even-- uncharacteristic to Marvel movies-- some of the comedy seem misplaced. This film struggles so much with deciding on a pace, underlining theme, and prevalent tone that in the end the final product just ended up feeling lazy and non-cohesive.
In essence:
Pros -
Cons - Exists-- both canonically, and in real life.

Pick your favorite book, and then randomize the location of every word and letter in the book.
Now attempt to read the book.
If your reaction is something along the lines of ???????????
Then you have successfully simulated what it's like to watch this movie.
I'm convinced this narrative doesn't even have a script it is just an arbitrary collection of scenes that may or may not tell a story. The fact that the director of the movie even fought to have his name not be associated with this movie should immediately raise a red flag.
