Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
Bonnie was so miscast
Mia Farrow should have been Bonnie Parker. They physically resembled each other, they were shy and easily lead. Faye Dunaway looked so ridiculous with the 1960's bleached blond hair, the "Cleopatra" eyeliner and the over-the-top "pushey", loud personality. May have been the director, but, she was just wrong. The books I've read do show a lot of realism in the movie, but, I would have liked it hadn't it been for Bonnie.
American Horror Story: I Am Anne Frank: Part 1 (2012)
Addictive
The acting is just marvelous. Being able to play these deplorable monsters must be a nightmare. Everyone is so good at it. I've always been haunted by the atrocities perpetrated at the old asylums, anyway, and seeing this cast at this creaky old building bring it to life; yikes.
Moll Flanders (1996)
Don't care
I didn't read the book. Sometimes it's better not too.
It's a wonderful movie full of love, hate, revenge, expectations, et al. Maybe it should have had its own title?
That happens sometimes. Remember, "The Shining"?
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941)
A Modern J & H?
I would like to see a modern version. One without make-up to "evil-out" Mr. Hyde. Just a great actor that can use body language and facial expressions to bring about the change.
Knightfall (2017)
History?
This entire period is fantasy, anyway. Complaining of 'historical accuracy' is a major redundancy. There's no proof of a "Grail", no proof of a Jesus...so watch this stuff as you'd watch, "Lord of the Rings" or some such.
A few historical people from the 13th Century is fine. Get a general, broad sense of the times, but, pretending to be some scholar of the time is silly.
Quantico (2015)
Juvenile
SoapOpera-type plot lines. With all the personal subplots, sexual encounters, love interests, it's amazing these people have time to learn anything. The women with their tight shirts and clevage, competitions, 'in your face' bossy know-it-all communication, they certainly aren't learning to cooperate. It's really not what I thought it'd be.
Strike (2017)
J. K. Rowling
Looked to me as if Rowling produced this, didn't write it. Am I mistaken?
It is developing some different characters in settings from seedy to extraordinary. City life is a worldwide phenomenon. You cross a few streets and go from one world to the next. So noticeable in Chicago, where I was a child, to Los Angeles, San Francisco, et al. Having a main character who seems comfortable in these contradictions, adds to to intrigue.
Metod (2015)
Great chemistry.
The growing feelings between the two main characters is so very realistic. The acting is superb. Respect, love, understanding and caring for one another brings the familiarity home. I would love to be friends with these characters.
