Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Could have been good...
I was wondering why they made it a PG-13 movie. There was no other way, you can only enjoy it if you are 13 and have never seen any other sci-fi movie before. It's full of cheap tricks, inconsistencies, pointless explosions and tropes that is hard not to sigh every five minutes.
The story is simple and predictable. A young ex-empire prodigy hides among simple peasants only to be tangled in an interplanetary conflict that only she can resolve and get her revenge too. You've seen it a hundred times before. This time everyone is over the top serious, stereotypical and surprised all the time.
The good things are cgi and filming, but acting and the story arc is just bad. Not the worst tho.
The only way you can enjoy it is to treat is as a long video game trailer or a music video.
Save Yourselves! (2020)
Original idea
I've never come across this story before. For me, the main focus is on the couple lacking any everyday skill that is faced with the end of the world, and how they approach it. The aliens are just a concept and shouldn't be taken seriously.
I've enjoyed this one.
The Adam Project (2022)
Predictable and pleasant
If you're looking for a relaxing movie with no plot twists and predictable ending, The Adam Project is for your. You've probably seen it all before and can figure out what's going on in the first 15 minutes.
This is Ryan Reynolds at his finest: corny humor, action and not much sense.
The Little Things (2021)
Mediocre with poor editing
The story is simple, with an open ending though. What made this movie difficult to watch for me was the slow pace and the poor choice of editing that didn't match many scenes.
Z Nation (2014)
Hard to watch
I watched two episodes and had to stop. This is really hard to watch, but I'm sure some people will find it entertaining.
It's a simple story of a post-zombie-apocalypse survivors that try to escort the only person that is immune to the zombie virus.
Rather poor acting, plot is illogical, props look fake, characters are shallow. On top of that, it's obviously trying to copy TWD, but in my opinion there's nothing original about it.
I've recently watched The Last Ship that has the same plot but I found more believable and fun.
