The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Not What I Thought It Would Be
Absolutely incredible second installment from Mike Flanagan. This was definitely not what I thought it would be and i'm pleasantly surprised at how different this series is compared to hill house. That being said, there are still so many similarities - that haunted, eerie feeling that plays so well throughout the season. Flanagan does it again, giving us a thrilling, melancholy, and twisting end to a beautifully written, acted, and filmed show. Can't wait to see what he does next.
The Biggest Loser (2004)
Inspirational and Tear-Jerking. 9/10
I am so glad this show is back!! I'm even more glad that they found two brand new amazing trainers, Erica Lugo and Steve Cook, to coach the teams. Being a woman myself, it's really great to finally see a female trainer with a truly attainable body. It's going to be a great season and I'm rooting for everyone! If you're looking for an inspirational, tear-jerker this is the perfect show for you.
I See You (2019)
Slow build-up but WORTH IT
I rarely write reviews for movies but I really felt compelled to for this one. I'm a huge fan of psychological-thrillers and this checks off every box for me when it comes to a movie I like. The entire movie is eerie and the musical scores perfectly compliment the directing. Take an hour and a half and watch this movie, seriously -- you won't regret it. The acting is great, the storyline is great, and when the climax hits it hits like a train coming at you 100 mph. I was absolutely engulfed the entire time. If you're a fan of eerie psych-thrillers with insane twists and turns then this is the movie for you.
Unbelievable (2019)
All Too Real
I'm absolutely speechless after watching this show (which I binged in 2 days flat). The producing, the directing, the performances from these actors and actresses was absolutely outstanding...and the story itself was brilliant. Thank you, Netflix for finally giving a voice to the forgotten and the unbelieved in our society. While this show is fictional, the story it portrays is far from impossible - as a woman myself, it's a daily struggle to make sure I, as well as my female friends and family, are kept safe and not silenced. This is a scary time in America for women and it's shows like this one that shed light on how silencing our society can be to those that need to be heard the most. A must watch.
EDIT: I recently learned that this show is not fictional and is based upon a true story. Even more heartbreaking.
