Saw Dune yesterday at an IMAX theater and the movie was visually stunning. However, the background music and lines spoken in whispers left me watching a film with virtually no dialog. I had no idea of what was going on. If you're over 60, this film is very difficult to understand.

Sound mixing was TERRIBLE!

The dialog and background music were often at the same level making the dialog very hard to hear for an old person (yes, I had my hearing aids in). Background music should be in the background, not in the foreground. Other than than that complaint, the show was good.

A touching movie

First, the cars have to be right for a period movie and they were for the late 60's. I hate it when I see a 70's car in a 60's period movie. This is a TV movie that contains some exceptional acting. I agree with "jonathangrubbs" that Cloris Leachman, Darby Camp and Chandler Head were very good. There was one scene, however, where Corbin Bernsen was downright GREAT.

Insulting as a progressive Christian

I couldn't make it through this movie. I turned it off less than half- way through. The movie depicted Christianity as this all or nothing religion that has no tolerance for non-believers or other religions. As a progressive Christian, I take inclusion very seriously and am comfortable with folks of all faiths or no faith. This movie had the opportunity to gently try to persuade folks that there is a God but chose to hit us over the head with a hammer that more or less states that if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, you're doomed. Every time I encounter this tidbit of Christian exclusivity, I want scream, "What about God's grace?" I'm sorry that I couldn't give this movie a rating of minus 10 stars!!!
