Missing (2009–2010)

Not realistic at all, bad writing all around
27 January 2024
The reactions, the methods, the attitudes, the premises, all totally unrealistic. The way the lady in charge handles mispers is exactly opposite of how a real cop would handle things. Heck, it's opposite of how anyone would handle things. Her instincts and methods are just plain ridiculous. She chastises her team for using initiative when they dare to go about looking for people the way police should look! On top of that, the resolutions to each situation are too neat and tidy. Everyone resumes happy families, regardless of the reason for a person going missing....all's well, nothing to see here. It's terrible writing. I'm actually surprised there was a second season. I made it through the first 2 episodes before calling it quits.

One of my favorite movies & soundtrack!
11 October 2023
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! This is one of my favorite films. It's so sweet and heartwarming. Most importantly, I love the music! My husband and I are both musicians and romantics. The thing about this movie that really grabbed us is the soundtrack. The songs, in and of themselves, are nothing special. However, each and every song that was chosen fits each scene perfectly! The songs truly set the mood. We're both avid film buffs and we often comment on how well or not the soundtrack fits a movie. I can honestly say, without hesitation, that whoever chose the music for this film is a GENIUS! You can actually feel the tone each scene is trying to convey with each song. It draws you in and keeps you there. There are only a couple of things about this film I don't like: 1. The blatant advertisement by the L. A. tourist board to ride use the metro and visit their hot spots and 2. The back-breaking, bending over backwards to appease Haaz Sleiman's coming out of the closet. Too much and not necessary. Other than that, I truly love this movie.

Wonderful & Heartbreaking
2 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie breaks your heart but it is so very well done. Glenda Jackson gives the performance of her life, in my opinion. Having taken care of both of my parents and mother-in-law, all suffered with Alzheimer's, the script very accurately portrayed what it's really like for both the care-givers and the afflicted. I think it's wonderful that, in the end, something good came out of her clouded thinking. I really felt like I was transported back to when my parents were still alive and what my husband and I had to do to help keep them safe. What we had to endure when they didn't know us, and when they would lash out at us like we were their enemies. This movie is definitely heartbreaking but worth watching.

Best British "Whodunnit" in years!
24 December 2022
This had us captivated from the very beginning and kept us guessing right to the very end! Usually I'm able to figure these murder mysteries out by half-way through but, this one was so well written, nothing was given away. All of the clues were there if you paid attention but they weren't glaringly obvious. Even the red herrings were subtle. We truly love British mysteries, it's almost the only genre we watch, but they can be very predictable. This absolutely was not! Excellently written, excellent performed, excellently presented! I hope the makers of this series come of with more, just as enthralling, stories in the near future! Bravo!

Both hilarious and touchingly beautiful!
31 March 2020
I truly LOVE the crew from Horrible Histories so I knew I was going to love this movie. They did not disappoint! It was absolutely hilarious, but what I didn't expect was that it is also very beautiful and touching. The end actually had tears in my eyes, very beautiful indeed. Well done Laurence and Ben! And well done Matthew, Simon, Martha and Jim!
