interesting, strange but....
27 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Okay. Ill admit it is a bit tedious however i made the fatal mistake of not having it at full volume. The actual intensity comes from the sound design. (i think i had it turned down as to not wake roommates) it somehow seems like a found footage movie but its not. Which i think is interesting, very rarely are there people on screen and even then they are shrouded in darkness. The premise is indeed unique but this is by no means a party time slasher with all your friends. Id recommend a solo watch in the dark with an open mind and a bit of patience. Often times the best bits of art, movies and music often do.

Children of the Corn 3 = Hellraiser 3
2 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Now before you get up in arms about that headline Children of The Corn 3 isnt as good as Hellraiser 3 im fact Children of The Corn 1 is kind of a silly premise to begin with and comes nowhere near Hellraiser. Im simply stating that the absurdity reaches that level where hellraiser is intense and hellraiser 3 is kinda silly it is similar : kind of barely cohesive plot held together by great B movie dialogue and absolutely stellar gore effects (in this case by the genius Screaming Mad George) some kids from the cult get adopted by a couple in chicago. One wants to fit in while the younger one (Eli) wants to continue to worship he who walks behind the rows. End result: its just fun why else would you watch it? If you like Brian Yuzna Flicks at all watch it. Its fun. (its not a Yuzna flick but you know what i mean hopefully)

Warning: Spoilers
What comes at night? Nothing? A virus? This has got to be one of the worst most boring films ive watched in years. And thats saying a lot. Acting is like, i guess good considering the little dialogue and when there is an intense confrontation its over in a minute. This is by far not scary, gory or anything like you (or i guess just me) was led to believe. It somehow hijacks the premise of the original Night Of The Living Dead (everyones in a house for the most part) and make it boring as all hell. I'm not saying i need monsters or gore in everything i watch but this was just a slog to get through with an ending that means nothing at that point. Dont bother.

what the **** is this
19 May 2023
Terrible im trying my hardest to get through this show and ive ... lightly chuckled a few times. The character design and animation is horrible trash. I have no idea why they cancelled inside Job to funnel money into this way weaker, far less enjoyable clone. Usually im a huge fan of Robert Carlock and Tina Fey's work but this is just terrible. I dont know why i need to use 600 characters on IMDB now to literally just tell you all to not watch this, maybe send an email to netflix tellin them this show is irredeemably terrible and renew inside Job. Or make a new tv show based on pre existing stuff cause i guess thats a thing.

Aint Bad but
11 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So this franchise is entirely based on horror tropes, cool but it kind of doesn't really. I hate to say it but i couldn't care about any of the characters in this one less. Same goes for 5. In my obviously bizarre opinion if they're gonna play the "horror trope" game have a installment thats like Jason 5 (i.e. Completely unrelated to woodsburough) etc, get sneaky with it and yeah im even gonna throw this idea out there: outer space. I mean it worked in Jason X, Hellraiser 4 and Leprechaun 4. And Critters 4. Or even throw in the "theres always another woodsborough" ala theres an elm street in every town. Just some ideas to throw around. Happy slashing everyone!

Into the Dark: I'm Just F*cking with You (2019)
Season 1, Episode 7

Surprised me, however...
19 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I put this on late one night just because, and I thought it'd just kill 90 minutes or so, after a while though it proved smarter and better crafted than i thought it would be. The Antagonists are more cunning than they appear and the main character is acted very well as an overly paranoid and sad misfit who doesn't even want to be there in the first place. This makes the antagonists "pranks" all the more cruel and effective. Overall its a very well paced horror thriller with some intense scenes but never over the top. The Antagonists are the very definition of complete sociopaths and that can be scarier than any movie monster sometimes. My only complaint is the constant use of the stock Sound effect of an Eagle and the ending....doesn't really land as good as it could have but hey. It was good enough for me to review it here. Watch and have fun.

bad
22 January 2023
First things first Mindy Kaling didnt create this show shes a producer (and yeah the voice actress) so i think she's getting unfairly maligned but this show was/is just bad. If rumors are true that it was to be its own thing and not Scooby Doo related at all it might help. A little. Not a lot. Its still needlessly cynical, stupid, and poorly written.

Unless they come with some amazing completely unexpected twist this will go down as one of the worst adaptations/ interpretations of any popular series of all time. And just so people know i couldn't care less if they switch peoples race/gender/sexuality thats not even an issue. A fresh take on things can be interesting a lot of times. Unfortunately this is not the case here.

not sure what they were going for
12 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Scary? A little but if you're scared of an exaggerated version of the WWE wrestler the Fiend, or that thing from Death Note (sorry i don't know its name, just what it looks like) Deep? Nope. At the the end of the day i didn't know what they were going for, "kids are too attached to their phones?" "parents are over protective of their kids being too attached to their phones?" Im glad it didn't take place in the middle of the woods or some such nonsense its kind of just The Ring without substance or backstory to flesh it out. Aside from the titular character nothing about this is scary. This is a watch if you need to kill time between better films. Or just put on different film.

Not Bad, but Not unwatchable
30 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Theres a trend in horror movies "family troubles-they go somewhere- either the house has secrets or a family member has secrets" trope thats been done to death at this point and this is one of them. While theres decent acting and a few "oh crap!" moments i cant say i can recommend this one unless your bored and want to kill 80 minutes. All the twists that could have made this cool are rendered moot by a fairly predictable twist halfway through however a second twist at the end was pretty welcome. But once again not unpredictable. Also this is not a necessarily a supernatural or monster movie at all so dont expect cool jump scares or anything. What does happen could have been done way better.

its worse than you think
12 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I watch horror movies all the time and ive never seen one as boring and stupid and backwards as this. Im not even counting the gay conversion angle which to me didnt even really play as big a role as advertised. It was just a bad movie. Id rather watch Sleepaway Camp 3 or something. Im sure everyone who worked on this worked hard so I'm not trying to trash them but wow. This one heres a sad sack of crap.

Character design: zero humor: done way better by other new "sci fi adult cartoons" this is basically family guy for people who are too stupid to even like family guy. I dont wish ill on what im sure is a whole team of people but nah. This is the worst.

actually pretty cool

Warning: Spoilers
I think most of people are 50/50 on M. Nights films, this one was actually pretty suspenseful from the get go. Its a premise thats almost goofy but it gets some twilight zone points here and there. And as always with M. Nights movies theres a twist that i thought was fantastic. Unfortunately he put a twist on the twist, and that kind of sucked. Its still a fun film. (Note: i have not read the graphic novel it's based on so ill have to track that down) otherwise, curious and wanna kill 90 something minutes, by all means put it on.

More Suspense than Horror and thats a good thing
18 December 2021
I picked this movie randomly and assumed it would be a run of the mill horror/ paranormal type film but was pleasantly surprised it was more of an intriguing and creepy suspense film than anything. Theres not many pure suspense films without tropes you can see coming a mile away or over the top gore (both of which im a fan of) so i was glad for this change of pace.

The critic for the washington post who gave this 0 stars and called it filth clearly has never seen any other movies.

Amazing.
12 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was unexpected, and made me laugh more than most of the episodes so far this season, just for sheer ridiculousness. Especially Ludacris' short story with its animation style change and ultra violence. I feel like they just let writers go nuts with the stories just because it would be unexpected. Very fun, possibly a christmas episode ill watch once every year.

this wasnt very good
20 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The few episodes of the season that really worked were like old episodes of "Monsters" this meta-murder house thing just didnt work, as good as the acting was. Hopefully season 2 sticks with more self contained stories, we dont really need to revisit Asylum or Freak Show. (.....maybe Hotel could have a self contained story.) it still looks great the story was just boring.

I didnt mind the other episodes as much as some other people did but this was like a cool bigger budget episode of Monsters or Tales From The Crypt. Definitely more what i was expecting from this show.

7 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I rented this movie out of redbox thinking "yeah okay cool horror movie night" i did not expect it to be so in control and solid and quite frankly, actually kind of scary. Well done, not as over the top as the cover/ title screen would lead you to believe, way more donked up than that. I give it an oh hell yeah and go ahead and make a sequel. Do that thing.

Warning: Spoilers
It starts with tragedy then 4 guys get lost in the woods, yell at each other, (the acting is rather good) then creepy stuff happens. Then even creepier stuff happens. Then the monster shows up and only for a few minutes looks amazing. If youre bored and wanna watch a decently made suspense movie thats not really gonna scare the hell out of you, go for it. At this point weve all watched worse.

This is not nearly as bad as it's made out to be. (also the trailer is misleading) for its time its got a great combo of practical and computer special effects, reminds me of a bigger budget Saturn 3, its a fun 90 Minutes Not Wasted.

20 May 2021
Yeah the animation is strange and hyper colored but thats kind of its charm, i can list 10 worse animated shows off the top of my head that don't come close to the fun ridiculous whimsy of this show. (and honestly it wouldn't hurt if you're already into bizarre animation and noise music) I genuinely enjoyed this show.
