Lakewood (2021)
Do people actually watch this beyond 25 mins?
Awful. This is just Naomi Watts version of Locke. Locke was awful and was just a guy on the phone in his car. This exchanges the car for some woods.
Does it improve and some quality gritty action occur? I doubt it but I'd hit my limit when i realised she even had an Apple phone. If it was Android it may have made her role more tolerable.
Apparently I have to write 150 characters before this review will be considered for posting. Some movies don't warrant that many characters.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Utter junk.
Even granting this dross attempt at satire which is little more than side swiping propaganda that many other reviewers have sucked up and reacted with feelings rather than reason seems pointless but hey, I have spare time and I've already thrown away time I'll never get back. "Don't Look Up" is like a B movie storyline with pretensions of being better by shoving out some otherwise fairly good actors. I suppose jobs in Hollywood have been rather sparse though of late.
The story is disjointed because of the lame attempts at pushing a message..... which many will miss. The comedy label is incredibly kind, if you force a chuckle during this I salute you.
Give Idiocracy another watch rather than subject yourself to this tripe.
The Bystander Theory (2013)
A fun twist on a modern tale.
The majority of the 1/2* reviewers of this movie have only reviewed this movie!
I've managed to do some research on these people and it appears they have dubious links to Government agencies in several countries. This is a genuine conspiracy, maybe this movie is onto something and these people are desperately trying to throw us off the scent.
Oh, the movie was okay.
Age of the Living Dead (2018)
Programming junk.
When you start watching this sort of thing and expect it might be good and it's just generic rubbish that has lines in like "This is the New Normal" you know its purpose. This was being recorded before the current sham state of affairs too. Hard swerve.
An American Pickle (2020)
Not a movie to relish.
I won't bother writing a lengthy review discussing the good and bad points because really this is just utter bilge. Comments like "That's x amount of time I won't ever get back" are normally unfounded but with this it really was the case. Even reviewing it feels like I'm just prolonging the agony.
The Flight Attendant (2020)
Easy watching and fun.
It's a great watch, not too heavy which is just the ticket sometimes. The cast work great together and it helps the story flow.
For the body found next to you in a bed in a hotel room genre (It must be a genre dammit, if not then I just coined it) it plays the style pretty well with how the revelations keep a coming.
Only three in and I was feeling like I could binge a few more but hey, patience is the word and I'll have to wait for a week.
I wasn't really a Big Bang watcher so I only knew of the main protagonist fleetingly but she looks great and plays the role exceptionally well.
10 Days in a Madhouse (2015)
Very interesting film.
Having never written a review of a movie on IMDb before I was motivated due to two rather unusual ones from profiles only ever reviewing this movie. . . . .and giving a bad review. So, while it does betray its roots as a low budget movie the story was indeed pretty good. Definitely worth watching through to the end as the topic will certainly make you question what you believe about institutions for mental health.
