The Forgotten West Memphis Three (2020)
Big disappointment
This is worthless. It feels like the guy who calls himself an "investigator" and claims he is going to try to finally find some real answers enjoys it a little bit too much to be in the spotlight himself while talking about how much he cares. 90% Of this documentary is old information, the rest is the guy talking about how he is going to finally do things right (hinting at how bad it was previously done, which is only partially true and mainly counts only for the West Arkansas police force and the prosecutors). I kept watching because I feel like only then I can truly make a claim on how good a show is, and I also couldn't help but stay curious until the end about whether there were going to be any new revelations, but no.
Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer (2021)
Good, but the title is a bit misleading
This wasn't bad, at all, but I wouldn't say this was mainly about the Times Square Killer. We get a lot of insight in the history of the porn industry on Times Square, a lot of interesting information, but not all that necessary for the case. A little bit of background information is crucial, but this was 50% on the actual killings and 50% about Times Square in the 70s and 80s. All and all I did really enjoy the series, it was good and I hadn't heard much on this particular killer before. Worth the watch.
Trailer Park Boys: Out of the Park (2016)
Even TPB can go wrong
I feel like it was too loosely scripted this time. I love improvisation, but there was no structure here at all. They kept repeating themselves (that damn hunger).
I can't possibly rate it lower than a six though, because I love TPB nonetheless...
The Letter for the King (2020)
People should learn to judge and review books and the TV series based on them as separate works
I mean, it was to be suspected that a lot of Dutch readers of this wonderful book by Tonke Dragt would feel obliged to be negative about the TV series. Fans sometimes forget that movies or TV series that are based on books should be reviewed separately, on their own. You can see that people that haven't read the book are overall very enthusiastic, at this point of time they all have given 10 stars. I read the book when I was a child as well and I loved it. The series is very very different but I I am really loving it so far! It is definitely worth a try!!
