Les arbitres (2009)
Interesting perspective.
I have seen many documentaries on refereeing, but none have immersed me so much in the action as this documentary did. In the documentary, three referee teams are followed during the Euro 2008. Several cameras follow the referees, showing their every action during high stakes matches. We also hear the communication between the officials and the stress and pressure they feel after their every decision. As a referee myself I found the referee's actions to be quite a learning experience.
I felt that sometimes the documentary was a little disjointed. One moment Howard Webb would be having a coffee, one frame later he would be whistling the start of a match. I didn't mind this too much, but it might annoy other viewers.
After watching this documentary, I feel like watching more football matches that just follow the referee.
Very enjoyable documentary. I would watch it again and would definitely recommend it.
Sam & Cat (2013)
Kill me now
Spinning off from the unfunny Henry Danger and the moderately amusing Victorious is the new sitcom from the creators of various rubbish TV shows with the humor level of toddlers. Not a single episode made me laugh at all, or even crack a smile. All the humor is fart jokes, characters playing dumb, or insults towards the characters physical features.
Sam is a potential sociopath, and Cat is borderline autistic. Her voice made me want to die. Goomer or whatever his name is appears to be either a pedophile or severely mentally retarded. And the little kid is disturbing on many levels. I hate this show, for helping make the children of the world dumber. Never watch this show. Ever.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015)
Meh
A lot of people have complained about the "cranks" being zombies. I personally have always loved zombies so this was not a problem for me.
This movie was definitely more mature than the first one. The themes can be downright disturbing, such as the harvesting of the kids bodies for their blood while they are still alive. That's messed up. One character is infected and chooses to shoot himself. The zombies were very gruesome, especially in the scene in the sewers in the city.
This is definitely an action-focused movie. The action sequences are OK, but are plagued with shaky-cam.
An above-average movie, which is decently entertaining, but far from a cinematic masterpiece in any respects.

Judge Dredd (1995)
Underrated classic
Yes, there are problems with the film, many many problems. The script is filled with clichés, Rob Schneider's character is annoying and rather pointless, the story is pretty unoriginal, as are the characters and action sequences. But watching this movie, despite everything wrong with it, is a very enjoyable experience. I don't mean enjoyable like you enjoy it because it's bad. I genuinely liked it. I found the whole thing to be a good sci-fi action movie, with some mildly though provoking themes. It's a pity that critics didn't like it, otherwise I'm sure Judge Dredd would be up there with classics like Back to the Future, Star Wars etc. Although I'm definitely not saying it is as good as those movies. Definitely worth watching at least once.

Pixels (2015)
Ruined by Adam Sandler and bad attempts at comedy
Let me say the good things in the movie first. And admittedly there were several things I enjoyed in it (hence the 2/10 instead of 1/10). For a start the visual effects were very good, and made for some very fun action sequences. I enjoyed the scenes with Peter Dinklage very much. He was definitely the stand-out performance. Also the opening sequence was very well shot and captured the spirit of classic 80's arcades perfectly.
Now onto the problems with the movie. For a start, the movie doesn't seem to know who its audience is. It appears to be a kids movie, with lots of childish humor and a PG rating. But there are so many references to 80's pop-culture icons and games that most of the movie makes little sense to anyone born after 1982. Also there is a fair amount of low-level swearing and some very sexual references so I wouldn't really feel comfortable showing it to a child.
The cinema I watched Pixels in was nearly full, yet literally no one laughed at all during the entire movie. That made for an extremely awkward 100 or so minutes.
Now how about the cast? Well:
Josh Gads character spends much of his screen time yelling obnoxiously in attempted humor (I think) but it is just uncomfortable.
Michelle Monaghan is too good for this movie. That's all.
Kevin James is unfunny in this as POTUS. His humor consists of him knocking over things and generally being an idiot.
I already covered Peter Dinklage. His performance was excellent and helped earn that extra star from me.
Adam Sandler was doing his usual lazy, unfunny acting style. The story of him winning over Michelle Monaghan is completely unbelievable to the point where literally no one cares whether he gets the girl or not.
Just a very stupid movie which should not be watched, ever.
