Binge watch worthy
24 October 2023
I watched The Fall of the House of Usher in 1 day because I wanted to know the outcome! It was very entertaining and the lesson for me was: don't be greedy! So much action/drana/greed/humor. I was hooked in the first 5 minutes. It's pretty much non-stop action. "The Fall" is told by the patriarch of the family of 6 children. There are some gruesome scenes but it' was so perfectly appropriate for the characters it happened to. Great acting - great storytelling! Wonderful job Netflix writers, director, producers for bringing a new take of Poe's "The Raven" into an extremely entertaining miniseries doable in a few days time!

Entertaining & Enjoyable
24 October 2023
I really enjoyed this DreamWorks film. It's based on the Krakens which are legendary sea monsters. (I don't understand the reviews comparing this movie to another). A teenager, whose mother did not inform her of her roots, discovers she is a "sea monster." She knew she was different and discovers her destiny accidentally. The movie does not have any slow or boring parts - it's action-filled with some adult humor. The only thing I thought was unnecessary in an animated movie targeted to kid audiences is that one of the characters goes to prom with same sex date. This was just a small part. I think we - especially children - should be able to watch a family movie and just enjoy it. People read too much into unnecessary content. Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken is a very cute & entertaining movie!

1st Half 10/2nd Half 2
31 December 2022
The first hour of this film was excellent. I laughed out loud continuously. The actors were outstanding; kids included. A disaster hits the family's town so they have to evacuate. The antics of the family & all the people evacuating the town were hilarious. The camp scenes (where evacuees stayed while the disaster was cleared) were silly and entertaining. Then everyone goes home and it's like they all went into a whole different script; switched movies; shifted gears; etc. No more laughing, no jokes-even the kids got boring. It got so serious when it could have remained funny & quirky. All the second half did was confuse & bore me. This movie had such potential. First half is definitely a 10; second half 2 at most. You could have kept us laughing but you ruined it.

Excellent; don't compare to book
15 May 2021
I didn't read the book so couldn't compare to movie; most would agree books are better than movies in general. This movie had me captivated from the moment it began. Adams & filmmakers did a fantastic job-making me question what was make-believe and what was real. There were twists that popped up which I did not expect all throughout. I was glued and will most likely watch again. To those who have read the book I wish you wouldn't get so angry, don't compare book to film & enjoy!

Hilarious!
7 February 2021
I loved this show and I will probably watch parts of it again because I laughed out loud at so many scenes. There were a couple of episodes where parts were slow or kind of unnecessary but overall the series was outstanding. The very last episode was so funny I rewound a particular scene at least 5 times and laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee in my pants! The sibling rivalry that the 3 adult children have is hysterical. I like Danny (R.) McBride and John Goodman so I was hooked at the end of the first episode. Each episode had me wanting more. The hypocrisy and pietism is in large supply; but humbleness is eventually found. If you are searching for an excellent comedy, this is for you. The Righteous Gemstones does not disappoint!

Jim Cummings=Genius
18 January 2021
The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a great movie! I don't get the negative reviews. Get a sense of HUMOR. It's a horror/thriller/fantasy film mixed with comedy that hits at just the right moment. The movie is very entertaining and Jim Cummings throws the punch lines right on target. I couldn't wait for him to smart off to the next person in his path because it was hilarious and had me lolololing all the way to the end. Plus it took the edge off the movie's scary parts. We could all use humor in these crazy dark times. Robert Forster is a favorite & I love that his last film was a dark comedy. I think Jim Cummings did a great job-this is a brilliant film. I love his style!

I tried really hard to like it...
17 January 2021
I was engaged for the first 20 minutes even laughing out loud a few times, then too quickly lost interest. Where the movie tries to be nostalgic; unfortunately it fails, sliding into immaturity and boringness. The plot could have gone in so many directions emotionally; however, It was a quick decline into stupidity and nonsensical dialogue. Some of the characters could have had longer/more inventive parts which would have perhaps made this more appealing; ie the B&B proprietor adding more comical dialogue. It was a little depressing to watch so not sure why it's categorized as comedy/drama.

No Emotionality
23 December 2020
The movie was so s l o w to get to any point and when it finally did, it was one after the other after the other. I didn't like it because once things did get going, 1) nobody showed any real emotion and 2) nothing was completely explained. It wasn't believable and left too many unanswered questions. It was BORING.

Annoying
25 October 2020
Anne Hathaway is so annoying; her voice, her look, her acting...She is and never will be on Anjelica Houston's level. This is not a good kid movie. I don't see how anyone could find it entertaining. It's a waste of time because they're too busy filming anne singing and making weird faces - which to me would be scary for kids. The "conference" scene was too long and boring

LOLOLOL
24 October 2020
I loved this movie! I watched by myself and literally laughed OUT LOUD at least every 5-10 minutes!. I love Sacha Baron Cohen and Maria Bakalova was excellent in her role. They had me in tears I was laughing so hard. I needed a great comedy to watch and it's hard to find one that keeps my attention; I will be watching again for a nonstop LOLfest! Thank you for making this for us especially at a time where we could all use cracking up in a good way!

Artemis Fowl (2020)

Excellent!
14 June 2020
I loved this movie and honestly don't understand the low reviews. I did not read the book but if you did and you are so freaked out, I feel sorry for you because you couldn't let yourself enjoy a fantastic film. Not all movies follow books; it's nearly impossible since books go into great detail. I loved the characters and the story. I was captivated and will watch it again. Lately most movies are remakes, boring or don't have much thought process. Artemis Fowl is adventurous and exciting. Not a dull moment. Thank you Disney for putting this (and Onward) on Disney+ and not theater first. I highly recommend Artemis Fowl and I hope there will be a sequel!

Confusing...
19 August 2018
The movie stinks. I can't stand the back and forth business with no explanation as to what is going on. There were constant flashbacks to the past like we are supposed to know who all the characters are. It started at the beginning and we hadn't even gotten to know the present characters so that makes it frustrating and confusing. The entire movie goes back and forth. The lead character's trying to figure out who murdered her parents years ago but she never comes to a conclusion; she seems to give up altogether towards the end. What was the point? We never find out 'who done it!" I can't stand movies that don't have a conclusion.

Another thing I didn't like is the filming technique "shaky-camera syndrome" and it was so random. Too bad no one on the movie making staff had the guts to tell the director he did a terrible job of trying to tell a story and that he omitted 99% of the answers.

Ignore the Tyler Perry Haters
8 August 2018
This movie was VERY entertaining. I don't understand the Tyler-haters posts. If you don't like him then why would you go see this? You obviously had your opinion of the movie before giving it a chance. I love all of his movies and this one had an exceptional plot. Taraji was excellent; I loved her character. Tyler gets it right on about jerk guys and the women who try to help them; then wind up getting burned. It's so real life. This movie included sadness, love, thrills and laughs. Keep on telling stories Mr. Perry because you are doing a fantastic job! I give it a 10 - I enjoyed it very much!

And I understand why...

Warning: Spoilers
WARNING SPOILERS! You Were Never Really Here....nobody was anywhere. It was all over the place. What was with the back and forth flashbacks of Phoenix as a child? That was never explained. If the writer wanted to do a piece about human sex trafficking then do it-it needs to be addressed because the media won't talk about it. But this was a garbage piece that went in circles. It's not art - I don't know who thinks this movie is in any way art. Save your time
