Highlander: The Source (2007)
There can be only 1 : And that is the Rating for this movie.
Too bad we can't give lower ratings than 1 in IMDB for this abomination. There can be only 1.
Story, Animations, Acting, fights, Sound all are competing with one another to earn the lowest score possible. Adrian Paul originally turned down this project presuming this to be a disaster. But producers convinced him to do this project. That would be some fairly strong convincing power they had used there, dragging him to this colossal failure.
I wonder what would be his reaction knowing the outcome of his decision after the movie.
There is nothing in this movie that is worth mentioning.
If you have this much time to waste, you certainly need to find a better hobby than watching these sort of atrocities.
Halo (2022)
May the semblance to Halo lore wouldn't deceive you in to watching this abysmal tale of 'The talkative helmet refraining emotionally desperate Master chief'.
"There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?"
- Prophet of Truth, about this series.
---------------------------
The producers should've at least 'watched' the games before venturing to damage the whole lore.
The story is fairly bland so far, with UNSC now being the villain murdering the children who are a 'threat' to their 'authoritarian rule'. The insurrectionists who were actually terrorists in some ways, are now the good guys. The main aim behind original Spartan program in the lore was to counter the terrorism of these insurrectionists.
In 2552, the Covenant attacks an Insurrectionist outpost on the planet Madrigal, wiping out everyone except for teenager Kwan Ha. She watches how the Spartans have vanquished the Covenant and then saved her.
Yet she is defiant when requested to help UNSC in unifying the colonies by sharing her experience to them, stating that she will talk against the UNSC to other colonies, contrary to the truth that Spartans were fighting the covenants. Maybe she had fallen too hard on her head so that writers can still persist with the 'Murderous UNSC' story.
The covenant, the terrifying brutal race is now having a human woman,'Makee' who lives amongst the covenant as a 'respected member' of its civilization. Even the prophets seem to respect her. What a twist to the original Lore!
Leaving the asinine platitude story behind since the other reviewers have profoundly cited the flaws in the story, the writers couldn't even make the legendary Spartan true to his character.
In the lore and games, 117 is almost faceless and rarely seen without his green-coloured armour and helmet. He is commonly referred to by his naval rank Master Chief, rather than his given birth name John. And when he talks rarely, it's concise and memorable.
Bungie's Frank O'Connor described the Chief as "so quiet and so invisible, literally, that the player gets to pretend they're the Chief".
------The Silent Hero- Epilogue Scene in Halo 4-----
In the game Halo 4 Epilogue, after the loss of Cortana, in the last scene with Captain Lasky, Chief is silently mourning which imparts a profound meaning to his character. Even Lasky cites this.
Lasky: "Mind if I join you?"
Chief: "Of course not, Sir".
Lasky: "At ease, Chief. It feels kind of odd for you to call me Sir." (Gazing at Earth) "Beautiful, isn't she? I don't get to see her often enough. I grew up on New Harmony. Attended Corbulo Military Academy. Never saw Earth in person until I was an adult, but... I still think of her as home."
Chief: (Silently staring out)
Lasky: "You don't talk much, do you?"
Chief: (No response)
Lasky: "Chief, I won't pretend to know how you feel. I've lost people I care about, but... never anything like you're going through."
Chief: Our duty as Soldiers is to protect Humanity... Whatever the cost. (Loss of Cortana is evinced in his timbre)
Lasky: "you say that like soldiers and humanity are two different things. Soldiers aren't machines. We're just people."
Chief: (No response)
Lasky: "I'll let you have the deck to yourself." (Lasky leaves)
Chief: (thinking about Cortana: 'She said that to me once, about being a machine')
------------
This epilogue scene from Halo 4 has profoundness due to the silence of the chief, especially since the bond between him and Cortana was intense.
Albeit, here in this TV show, 117 is a blabbering talking machine. They have simply destroyed the legacy of the reticent Master chief.
Pertaining to the 117 in the TV series, the Gravemind and audience are not in dissonance:
"There is much talk, and I have listened. Through rock and metal and time. Now I shall talk, and you shall listen..."
A hero need not speak. When he is gone, the world will speak for him.
--------Murderer Chief--------
In the TV series, Kwan Ha apprises that it was Chief who killed her mother. He even receives command from UNSC to terminate Kwan Ha too. She even portrays him as a murderer.
But in actual Lore, although John has difficulty understanding the 'undisciplined' lifestyle of civilians, he is fiercely protective of their lives and humanity as a whole. The mass slaughter of civilians at the hands of the Covenant was enough to drive even the stoic John into a cold rage. After the massacre of Draco III, John and his Spartans remained on-site until every Covenant soldier responsible for the atrocity was dead.
He always cared for the humanity and wasn't reckless as the series insinuates. During the Battle of Installation 04, when searching for the survivors of the Pillar of Autumn, a Marine named Fitzgerald was wounded by an Unggoy with a Needler. John-117 retrieved a first aid kit and expertly treated the wound, taking time to ask the Marine if he was alright. By 2552, most members of the UNSC held "John-117" in complete awe, even among his Spartan comrades. His exploits, compassion and prowess quickly made him a legend in his own time, and his mere presence on a battlefield was enough to inspire the hope of victory regardless of the odds.
The TV series Master chief suggests that he killed Kwan Ha's mother since it was an order given to him. But in original Lore, it is not so. He had kept his morality always despite of the orders from higher commands.
On multiple occasions John has directly disobeyed protocol, and even superior officers that contradicted what he personally thought was right. On the UNSC Gettysburg during Operation: FIRST STRIKE, Dr. Halsey decided to test his morality by giving him two data chips, one containing information regarding Avery Johnson's immunity to the Flood, which would surely lead to his dissection by ONI with little chance of replicating his immunity. The other was missing this data, and John originally planned to sacrifice his friend in accordance with directive, but realised that one man can make a difference, and crushed the complete record into dust.
So, the writers of TV series putting blame on Master chief for killing Kwan Ha's mother as an order from chain of command is asinine.
------------------
Now there is the Helmet refrainment of Master chief in the TV series.
In the lore and games, he rarely removes his helmet. In fact, He is described as being unnaturally pale, a consequence of spending most of his time in his armour. He is always seen with his helmet on, giving a clandestine depth to him, as if he is not a human to others.
In the TV series, Master chief rarely puts on his Helmet, as if he has some issue with it.
When Kwan Ha cites that it was Chief who killed her mother, he evinces signs of emotion and later when Kwan aims a gun at him, he blatantly removes his Helmet to reveal his face to her, a complete stranger in some way, asking her to shoot him in his head.
Expressing his emotions and being vulnerable to a stranger? Seriously writers should think before writing nonsense.
Most of the time, Chief is strutting without a helmet, whether it is:
while talking to the strangers like Kwan Ha, Reth (Crazy guy that the Covenant had abducted & released, and one who knows the purpose of Halo array), his old Spartan friend Soren,
nonchalantly walking through the crowded 'Rubble', a secret Insurrectionist base,
or even when he returns back to UNSC later along the silver team in front of all the military there.
The Chief in original Lore rarely takes off his helmet, which gives another perspective to the others, as if he is a non-human machine (or Demon as the covenant calls him with admiration and fear).
------------------- Episode 3 introduces Cortana and an emotionally charged desperate Master chief. 117 in lore was famed for his composed reticent and prudent character. Here in this series, he is an emotionally desperate raging human. In some instances he even roars in anger or frustration. He is everything he is not presumed to be.
Pertaining to Cortana, they have now embedded Cortana to master chief's Cortex. In the lore, She was integrated into his new MJOLNIR Mark V armour, not to his brain.
The Riemann cycling-thought Matrix is a central component in the programming of UNSC Artificial intelligence constructs. It contains a code directory, where all the impulses in the AI's mind exist. It is effectively the AI's brain. The matrix is not a physical object by itself, rather it is a program allowing the AI to be stored in a Data crystal chip for mobility.
Here in the series, the Cortana is always a part of Masterchief since she is part of his brain and can even control him.
The series Cortana also says that Dr. Halsey chose John to be the one having the AI Cortana. This is entirely wrong.
The Cortana in the Lore explicitly refutes this by saying : "They let me pick. Did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others, you were strong and swift and brave. A natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw, but me. Can you guess...? Luck." - Cortana.
The Cortana in the Lore/game has a deep personal loyalty to John, even during their first meet. Here in the series, Cortana is an obnoxious spy of Halsey, who often reports about 117's actions to Halsey like a tracker.
In Lore, She had exhibited extreme devotion to John-117 beyond that which her programming or mission required. She seemed to be most loyal to him & is willing to help him with any task he requested of her.
----
So, in overall, the series is a bland representation of the Legendary Spartan, Cortana, Covenant, & all original lore pulverising all the profoundness.
Anyone who had played the games or read the books and admired the series, would have the same feelings towards the writers after watching this, as Vito Corleone had.
"Look how they massacred my boy" ...

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
A canon of an eternal monotonous film
Prolonged boring scenes, awful plot, and lack of dialogues would define this movie at its essence. This is a pristine example for an overhyped movie, which would make you feel rue after you realize the truth : that you have wasted your time over this asinine movie. The prolonged warping scene through space (time) forcing the audience to stare at blazing gamut's of colour lights for around 10 minutes, alone will make you dizzy even when you started watching the movie with cheerful disposition. It's a ludicrous movie with no plot at all. If you wish to have a glimpse of the summary, please search google for synonyms of the word "soporific" .
The Predator (2018)
Predator ..... Levity unravelled...
Not worth to watch it if you are expecting a Predator movie in its glory. The script is quite shallow, and dialogues are abysmal filled with trivial sordid sex slangs. Not one character is worth remembering. The title of the movie is the only thing that insinuates any relation to the Predator movie of 1987. This movie has a preposterous plot and would be abhorrent to the spectators if they have an expectation that this would be in some way pertaining to the predator movie of 1987. The actions of 'Predator' depicted in this is quite ludicrous and is perfidious to the franchise. In brevity, the movie makes spectators baffled about why would someone be a spendthrift by ratifying the production of this movie.
Alien Predator (2018)
Watch something else please...
Even if you got plentiful time to waste, don't waste it on this movie. On a scale of 1-10, this deserves '-2'. Camera,Actors,Special effects,Story (Story?? )... Nothing is worth mentioning in this.Even spending ample time to give a detailed review on this would be a preposterous idea. There will be more cheer in a necropolis than watching this movie.
