Argh, nearly
11 May 2024
I love a horror, I love a kidnapping story, I love the thrill of it all.

This film was good, I liked the story, the age it was set, the soundtrack, the kidnapper, the kid wasn't annoying like most kids in films. I liked it.

Just, I needed more, from the kidnapper side. I suppose the mystery of the bad man is a good idea. But I needed to have an inkling into his past. Or maybe we shouldn't know, just so he doesn't get pity for the evils he did. I don't know.

There was good creepy bits, and the violence made me feel numb. The dog was the scariest thing!

There was just some explanations I would've liked but it was good.

Nostalgia
11 May 2024
Watching this film made me feel like I was a kid watching my Mums tv in the early 90's.

A sweet little film with a very simple storyline. Most 80's and 90's films/programmes were all pretty much simple stories. These days, films are always trying to be extravagant all the time with shock factors. I like me that this film felt very easy, fresh and homely. No major effects and fake personalities.

Liam is always great to watch, love his voice and accent. Always plays a wholesome man who tries to do the right thing.

Music was very sweet too throughout. I'm a UK girl but it's lovely having a hearty film to watch.

Also, just saying: Rita should've gone with him.

If all you empaths found this relatable, let's all cry together...
22 April 2024
Well, wow! What an emotional watch.

Before I explain about the relatable side, let me quickly say well done and thank you: Big respect to Richard Gadd. What an honour to be invited into his mind of abuse, vulnerability, insecurities, guilt, sadness and all the raw emotions we all feel. The acting was amazing. It all was.

I think, even though we all didn't have the same experiences as Richard, we sure have all felt that defeated in life, and I think he shows this really well.

We all have trusted in people or been nice to people that don't deserve it, then still feel bad if karma hits this person.

The speech was all of us, change the fame subject he wanted so bad and change it to love, or a want you crave, and you can resonate in what he says in that speech. Amazing.

What a brave man and thank you for making us all feel your emotions. Bravo.

Well
28 March 2024
Was hoping for a good come back. But didn't get one. Lindsey is cute and lovely always, acting or not acting. But I don't know who convinced her to do such a cheap 90's love story.

All of it was predictable, the acting was terrible. I hate writing it but it's true. Whoever sat behind the cameras and thought this was a good choice needs to be talked to.

It was tacky, it wasn't even feel good. It felt awkward and the characters personalities were all sickly. Not one character I felt warm to.

Lindsey even looked uncomfortable in every scene. I feel like she knew this wasn't a good one. And looked like she was just pulling out her teenage acting tips to try get through this film.

Sorry!

Perfecto

Warning: Spoilers
Well, what a wonderful film.

Belle is all of us women/girls. We have literally been made to live and be brought up for just beauty and for male satisfaction.

Belle, what a character. I enjoyed her becoming liberated in every scene as it came.

I was uncomfortable with the baby brain in her head. Her maker was it seemed, was not sexually into her. BUT, that's because he admitted he had no equipment for it. So perhaps if he did, then he would've subjected her to the usual frolicks men would want from a young girl.... That every man she met, wanted these frolicks. Or to destroy her like the man on the boat. Women are either seeked for sex ot seeked to be ruined.

The man who wanted to be a husband, he was infatuated with her childlike mind, and I didn't like she courted him at the end. He was still a weak, pathetic man who had his brain in his pants and was attracted to a child's mind. Gross.

Emma Stone, amazing. All of them was.

Amazing film to watch. Women becoming stronger and more educated, and men having a downfall from feeling unwanted. Bravo.

Urgh, triggered

Warning: Spoilers
You can clearly see this is a couple who don't have any chemistry. The casting was great because you can feel it's wrong.

Us women always see 'potential' and then the guy hits the floor hard when we realised we kidded ourselves. Thats on us women, I get it. He didn't live up to her ideals. She should've left but....

In this film, yes the guy was actually just trying to pull out romantic stops that in todays society, would find 'stalking' and 'creepy'. I get that too. BUT... Both want to be liked at first, then in the end, she wants out but doesn't say she does, leads him on to think it's okay.... BUT women feel like that have to be nice so they don't get MURDERED. So as much as we are looked at as bad for 'leading on', it's because men fear rejection, women fear getting killed.... So I hope men don't watch this film and think 'see, she was a tease and makes us crazy'. Actually, if she doesn't want to know you, as much as she made out she was before, just leave her alone. Don't stalk, don't text, just pretend she never existed. I worry this film will give men the excuse to say that women are the reason they act violent or crazy. Because he should've just left her alone, even if he didn't know the reason she left him. He needed to get over his male ego being bruised. And left.

Great film. Loved it. Just remember to listen to your gut girls, and men, just leave a girl alone if she wants to leave.

This is everything!

Wow, honestly I am mind blown. This beautiful story was amazing.

The hilarious Isla, she's always been a wonderful actress. She has a charisma in her that pulls you into every character she plays. But this character, really warmed me to her. Mary is so sweet, scared to be vulnerable, has the biggest heart. And funny of curse.

Gary in this is too cute, great actor and honest. Emma is too cute and what an actress she is!

This made me laugh, cry and feel real warmth. Even though people would think the topic of the programme would put them off, it really doesn't. It's weirdly believable.

Drama, comedy, sci-fi, thrills, gore, sentimental... This series had it all. So glad there's no over the top Hollywood crap, this is real. Definitely a series I never want to end.

Bravo to the makers, they made a masterpiece.

Enjoyed it!
5 January 2024
Im not sure on the low score everyone is giving but I thought this was brilliant. It wasn't tacky, it wasn't overly Hollywood. But had a dark, sinister feel to it with good effects. Imagery was nice, old buildings and a cold feel to the atmosphere.

The main leading woman was a great actor and very believable. I would say it was on par with Stigmata.

Storyline was good, felt eerie, music soundtrack was the right choice.

Ann's mother in it freaked me out from the beginning. That woman looked like she could tear you apart. Very believable her part in it.

I would love to go to an Exorcist school, sign me up!

It's not supposed to be entertaining
6 August 2023
The reviews on here are so problematic. People are moaning this isn't entertaining, it has no thrills and excitement. This is what abuse feels like, numb and dull in the stomach.

People want to watch physical abuse, want the shocks and horror of dealing with abuse. But it's not always like that. Sometimes it's odd, weird and strange.

This feel is real. The panic of doing something wrong, that your friends notice you acting different. And realising yourself that there is a problem.

Alice is taken away from her life, with friends. She is out of the situation and then it gets unsettling when she isn't just concentrating on being a good girl to her partner.

Abuse is horrific. Sorry if this didn't 'excite' you or you found it boring. But I think it was very valid in how disconnected abuse can make you feel.

Blown away!
6 July 2023
I never tried to watch this when it came out. Didn't think it would be my type of film... How wrong I was!

My daughter put it on and I was mind blown by the amazing feeling of the message this film gave out. I was taken aback so much. I've seen watched it a million times.

The music is so gripping and heartfelt. The acting was fun to watch. Every character I had no reason to grumble about. Everyone was amazing.

I'm not a crier, but my god did I cry to the racism, the exploitation of different people, and to the family at how strong they was.

Well done to the creators, the involved and musicians. I was mesmerised!

Hurt so much
9 March 2023
I can't get over how heartbreaking this programme is. A mother of three daughters, this hit hard.

The justice system, the stupid defence lawyers, the judge... How could they just out rule the evidence and go on a technicality... This had me reeling, pure anger and tears. Because of course, this is a true story.

The acting was insane, every single actor in this programme. They played it so well.

Claustrophobia!
7 March 2023
Hot damn!

What a film I came across! I didn't expect to be on the edge of my seat like this, definitely not at a few minutes into the film.

What a good little surprise.

It's like Alien but undersea. The claustrophobia of not being able to literally run away!

Kirsten was great, always loved her, despite the Twilight haters. This had a good cast, real panicking emotions and no one being an unrealistic hero.

Whoever does this as a job, I salute you!

I hope you give this the time and day, it's a fun and uncomfortable watch, if you don't like small places. I personally would've died of high blood pressure!

British Beauty
22 February 2023
Really loved this.

Can't beat a British, gritty drama. And even better when it's like real life. Real houses, real attitudes, real areas us Brits live in.

The actors were all great. Never heard of most of them, but they seemed pros. I bet they are!

Storylines were good, realistic between the characters.

Main story of the phone app, good idea. It's not like it couldn't happen either. Not out of the world thriller.

And the soundtrack, so brilliant.

This definitely has me on the edge a lot. Felt sorry for the kids so much. I'm glad this was a series, they had so much to say and explain. This didn't feel like it was longed out.

Enjoyable.

Jealousy and envy at its finest!

I hype this film up so much. It's a 70's made beauty. I will be recommending this to all my old skool horror lovers.

I was uncomfortable, aroused, laughing, freaking out, ill and darn entertained.

As a woman, I found the lead female characters liberating, their demeanour, they're lined, their looks. Beautiful. The male acting was great and the characters were spot on for the 70's.

Classic horror. I just wish this was in the cinema to watch. Soundtrack is spot on.

Why didn't I give it a 10/10, because I wanted more nudity haha.

Misogyny hits again
2 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Another film of beautiful women and men that look like they're the slobbish species ever. In reality, these women wouldn't put up with those men in real life. Not only are they selfish, whingey, loud, obnoxious, sexist idiots, they are ogres! As if these bright, lovely ladies would allow men like that be such a negative in their life.

Also the inappropriate situation of 40 year old men hanging and dancing with 18 year olds that look 14!

Men are sleazy and the women are amazing. This is a film made for Cis men.

The end, they be the men their partners want them to be and apologise. And the women coo over it. It's absolute rubbish! Makes me sick.

Wow!
21 September 2022
This is disturbing, unsettling and really strange. It's brilliant!

They should do all serial killer series like this. Not leaving any detail out at all. Make the audience actually get a look into the minds and reasons of why and how the killer kills.

Evan Peters is fantastic, he played it so well. I saw him as Jeffrey and not as Evan. Every actor was amazing. I'm so impressed with this series.

I never knew how white privilege the whole situation was with Dahmer. It's cringing and disgusting to see what actually happened during his active years.

Very well done! The team that created this, please do more of other psychopaths like this series.

Great film!
9 September 2022
Absolutely loved it!

It's a 9 because some of it was a little cheesecore, but not a lot.

Wicked idea for a film. Action, thrills, gore, romance, what more could you want! X

Great gore, really surprised me being a 2010 film, was top notch.

Great chemistry between characters. Was so involved in the relationships.

Soundtrack was spot on too. Definitely going to look up the music.

A scary look into the future!

Jude was gorgeous! Usually don't get the hype but in this, he wasn't arrogant like some of his roles.

Ignore the negatives. Just watch it and keep your mind open.

Would happily watch this again.

Pleasantly surprised! Watched this with my 14 year old, and what a lovely concept, and the meaning this film is expressing about the future. The only reason I didn't put a 10 is because I wanted to see how Natalie's life pans out after the end of the film!

I don't get the low ratings. I felt like it was a brilliant storyline without all the Hollywood over the top stuff. I genuinely felt sorry for the main character.

It did have me on the edge a lot but in a good way, no cheesy acting.

20 May 2021
I love a film that tries to be new, something different. So I found this good. I loved the concept of it. And I'm glad it was a little dull, not all films have to be glorified with drama. Also, kids are scared little beings, of course they'd cry constantly. They've all developed emotions, so that's why they're crying a lot. Enjoy this as it is and don't be so logic minded. Love a fantasy film.
