Why Did I Get Married? (2007)
I love this movie, specially Janet Jackson
First of all it was unbelievable to see what they made Richard T Jones do. After watching the Rookie and the modal role he played, it was devastating to see the self-centered character he was.
He's a great actor I'll say.
I kept tearing up when ever I see Janet Jackson. She looks just like MJ.
I hate Angela, I was on the receiving end of a toxic relationship like that. The only difference is that I never cheated on the woman, yet I got an Angela and the full doze.
All and all this movie and the sequel is just really great. It's wonderful to show how some people and their lives reflect. Hopefully, it would help change how the reality, of our lives would change.
Tetris (2023)
Haven't seen this good a film in a,while
The film is not a sci fi full of fx film. It was simple and a very down to earth story. Even though that a lot of creative flourishing was put in to it from the film makers, I loved the movie and was very moved to the extent that two people went to bring this revolutionary game to us. And I loved how high the stakes were.
One of the best things we're the collection of music in this movie. The remixes and the retro music added to the nostalgia that tetris brought.
Even though this was not an 100% accurate representation of all the events, it was entertaining I'm sure it would have been entertaining even if the vfx was not included. I was always at the end of my seat the whole time.
House of Gucci (2021)
Gaga and Driver are so awesome.
I love the romantic portion of the movie. It shows the innocent and pure love. Until it's clouded by greed.
I've always been a fan of Gaga. And in this she was fabulous.
Definitely a movie worth watching.
In short, it's a movie filled with all emotions. And in just the right amounts.
The happy loving romance
The greed
The jealousy
Revenge and the darkness it brings. If it wasn't a true story, I would said that this would be only possible in fantasy.
Sad though how all the negativity looses one of the best brands in the world.
Very moving and emotional throughout the entire movie.
I love the happy couple to the end.
Dawson's Creek (1998)
The most real experience of teen and adult life shown on TV
I can relate to this show so much
How the characters just break up for no reason and again come back seem just what happens in real life. So much of this show is in my life. The Daring girl, the soul mate, the one your in love with, it all happened to me. And I can relate to how the manipulation and the drama can just overwhelm you. How dawson gets played every single time in his life. Women are just like that even in my life too.
It's like so real emotions, not your typical teenage drama, but very much your real life scenarios. Simply the best thing that came to tv
Thank you for this wonderful series.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Brillient. Just brillient
Brings back so much memories of Goose. Its, scary how much the actore playing Rooster, looks so much like Goose in physique and in character.
And the film itself was awesome. Its one of the few movies that I couldn't get enough of by watching it just once. I just feel the movies ended too soon. I so wished it was a tv series and wanted to spend more time in the Top Gun world.
All the missions and all the maneuverers were just the right amount of Hollywood and the right amount of reality. Very well ballanced
I love the first film. And I'd say that this is one of the rare moments where the sequal is as good as the original
Truely awesome.
Ray Donovan: The Octopus (2015)
This is so far the best episode
This is the best episode not just because from a cinematographic point of view but from a more sentimental stand point.
I love how the family comes to gether for Bunchy. Specially Abby, who takes care of Ray's brother Terry, as if it was her own. Its as it should be. Family, should be as such.
Most of the times, in real life, we see families, scattered apart. But this is a sure example of how it really should be. I loved how the kept Bunchy so innocent throughout, and that they gave a voice for him. His gal, who is like one of his superheroes from his childhood comics. I can feel the joy in his heart when she arrived in to his life. And it tops off with Seal singing Kiss from a rose. This was a well deserves joyous episode from a great sequence of tragedies that came before it. And I love it so much.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Multiverse is a solution to everything
It's just a smart use of all the wasted Spiderman reboots.
The different variations in each Spiderman film played very well.
And this film captured the best of all the Spiderman actors.
Batwoman: Rebirth (2021)
Great seeing John Diggle again
Best thing that happened after a long time.
The surprise appearance of John Diggle was much appreciated.
Love Story (1970)
95% the story of my life
I too got married at the age of 21 and my father asked for exact same request to let our love stand the test of time. My wife died from a an auto immune disease to the red blood cells. She died at the age of 23. And 15 years later I hear Raymond from Everybody Loves Raymond playing this beautiful tune, theme from love story and I just had to watch it.
Just think of my surprise when I see my life story playing right in front of me.
Though this film has several plot holes like the disease that Jenny got or why she got it, it's a great movie and in my case it's a sentimental one.
Watching this film was both painful and joyous to me like both of it sandwiched together.
The Slap (2015)
Amazing how two versions of the same story change perception.
When I watched the Australian version, I was rooting for Harry. But once the court trial is over, had issues with Harry. But still in overall saw him as a good person. But in the US version, Harry is portrayed as a prick from the very start. And how the story revealed past events before the court trial, some how makes Harry seem to be the bad person in this.
It's just amazing how the directors can do stuff like this. Very interesting. If you watch one version, do watch the other to see this effect
The Slap (2011)
This is why I'm an introvert
I feel for Harry here. Fine the guy should not have slapped the kid. But at the same time kids like this, untrained to behave properly should not be taken into public.
And when Harry tries to apologise, he gets struck down. And the story gets turned all around by Rosie. I am so glad I don't have to deal with stuff like this.
Mr. D (2012)
It's funny sometimes. But horrific at most
I'm someone who fears being embarrassed in public. This was a horrific thing to watch. When ever Mr D does something I have to just cover my face cause I cannot believe a sane person would do that.
Rocky III (1982)
Inspiration overload
A movie every sportsman should watch
Helps to be inspired to take it to the next level
Rocky (1976)
Sylvester is a true visionary.
This was 40 years ago. Even the writers today cannot come with gold like this.
It's simple, elegant, and goes right to your heart.
I can really see Sylvester writing this. Only he could have pulled off Rocky's character.
Such originality.
Hats off to you Sylvester
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Plot is very predictable and thin. But a nice film.
After watching this film I watch the earlier Rambo movies and I'd say that the plot is very predictable and short. It's even shorter than all the other kidnapping, slave trading films. We all know how Rambo films are. First encounter, get captured. Then revenge. That's all but shorter in this film. In the earlier Rambo films, the revenge and the success of the mission had some suspense. But the audience can see the ending of the film buy the first 20 or 30 mins in to the film.
But overall I enjoyed the film and gave me an insight to the character , Rambo which inspired me to watch the rest of the films. I'd say the first film so far is the best
Dumbo (2019)
The best Disney remake so far
This movie captures the best balance between the animated cartoon and a real movie. It was really nice to see that unlike the Lion King, which looks like a voice dubbed Nat Geo film, the director made really smart choices to show things that are possible ( except the flying elephant ). And I like the human factor which was introduced into the movie.
All and all every scene from the movie was a great remake.
The Lion King (2019)
Real life animals cannot act like animated characters
The real Lion King movie 1994 was so successful because the characters had cartoonic emotions. This was a file with animated characters meant to look very real life like. I don't think they can have it both ways.
This film looks like those cat videos where a person had voiced over a real animal
Ferdinand (2017)
As good as the original cartoon flick
The original story of Ferdinand was a real favorite of mine when growing up. This film does great justice to that flick.
Awesome movie but couple of goofs like how the girl knew Ferdinand's name
But very nice movie
Enjoyed every bit of it
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
I love how the new pack of characters
I love how powerful and mighty each character was portrayed to be.
I loved magneto for once. Too bad wolverine wasn't there.
As the film it was weak in plot and very predictable.
X men was always more than the action. It was more of a team effort was all of them worked and usually the plan would be surprising. But this was very much small as the plot was just about Jean.
Well in the alternate timeline things are different I guess
Kyûtî Hanî (2004)
A true live action ANIME
I love the style where the movie contain element from the anime like the first fight scene. Also it's like real people in a cartoon. Although the quality of the special effects weren't all up to "avengers level", any fan of comic anime would enjoy this.
I do find the camera to be too slow as anime is filled with fast jerky camera movements, I think this film should have the similar effects.
Overall I enjoyed this movie very much
Aladdin (2019)
This film was just meant to be a cartoon
Making a remake of the original cartoon was the mistake. They could have made another Aladdin film but not the remake.
I love all the characters in the movie everyone was very great in their acting, but we have seen a much better animated version with the genie voiced by Robbie Williams, an so far I'd say that is the best version of that Aladdin story.
