Boring and confusing
29 September 2020
My wife is a big fan of Harry Potter and liked the first movie very much. She and I started the movie twice now, only to fall asleep within the hour. We just can't get to the end without getting so bored, that eventually we turn it off and decide to call it a night. This means that I've seen that first bit twice now, but I still don't get it. It's just so confusing and without a real story. The movie is all over the place. Like little snippets... I don't think I'll give it a third try.

The Bold & The Beautiful in Spanish...

If you're looking for a gritty maffia story, this is not it. It's a lame, mushy soap opera. Man what a waste of time. I couldn't even make it to episode two. Avoid if soap operas are not your thing...

Time Trap (2017)

Negative reviews made me hesitant, but I liked it.
19 August 2020
I saw the movie on Netflix and as I tend to do I first looked it up on IMDB. Normally when I see ones and twos I assume the higher numbers are reviews written by people who have something to do with the production itself.

But because I liked the idea of the story I decided to give it a go anyways.

Even though the movie has some imperfections, as they all do, I found it really entertaining.

So there you have it, a real 'review' from a real person that has nothing to do with the movie itself and still liked it.

I'd love to see more of these kinds of stories on Netflix and in general.

You know where it's going, but it stil is entertaining...

If you've seen the trailer, you've seen the movie. There's nothing new in the storyline and it has all been done, but if you like this kind of movie you'll have a great time. I liked the humor in it and the characters are likeable too. I'll gladly watch it again in a few months or so.

I liked the first season...
31 January 2020
I liked the first season because of the sniping action, even though ballistics are not realistic. It was fun to watch. Season two slowed down from the first episode on and season three had me skipping thru scenes, because they were done over and over again with an other setting being the single difference. It just drags on and on....I didn't even care to watch the final three episodes. I couldn't care anymore.

Reviews mislead me...
10 December 2019
With all the positive reviews on IMDB I thought it was a good movie, but it really isn't. I'm a Van Damme fan, but this movie is just done badly. The camera is all over the place, even when there's no action it just jerks from left to right. The music is bad, the story is dull and there are way to much boring scenes that just don't fit the film and take the pace out of the story, if you know what I mean. All in all it's just a weak movie, that isn't even interesting enough to play in the background. Sorry, Jean-Claude...

I'm a Stallone fan, but this is bad...
7 March 2019
Ever since I was a kid and I saw Rambo II in the cinema, together with my dad, I've had a soft spot for Stallone (and his) movies. Some were better than others, but it was never really bad. This one, sadly, is. In the first minutes the bad acting stands out and you're nauseated by the shaky cam. I'm really dissapointed, because I was looking forward to another Escape Plan movie, like the first one. And I just can't get my head around why the hell directors keep using shaky cam. It adds nothing to a scene other than rendering it unbearable to watch.

Not quite up there

Warning: Spoilers
After watching Luke Cage I thought this would be a good series to watch next. I was wrong. It's not that it is shockingly bad, but after about six episodes the story and the main character started to get boring. A hero who can punch thru walls is great super hero material. But when said fist only works 3 out of 10 times, because of 'issues', I'm starting to think that the F1 department of Honda designed it. The last two episodes were tough to watch. Not because the story got worse, but it was just too much of the same and I got really tired of the main characters. I think I watched the last two episodes in 5 or 6 parts. Afterwards I wondered why I even committed to that. Season 2 will not be on my watch list.

Sluggish
24 August 2017
I'm well aware that I'm supposed to write a minimum of five lines, but here's really not much to talk about. The movie is sluggish on the positive side and downright boring on the negative, yet honest, side. It is a cliché ridden movie that really doesn't get up to speed. As soon as the movie starts, it feels like you have seen it before, because the story line is so obvious. Giving it only one star would be unfair to the CGI-guys, but giving it more than three is ridiculous.

It's bad.
27 July 2017
I'm still a bit puzzled by the rating at the top of the page. That rating was the reason I decided to watch the movie in the first place. Sadly the movie was even worse than the previous ones. The sounds of the chanting crowd is edited in so bad, it made me cringe. Punches and kicks are missed by a mile, but still sound like bone shattering hits.

I should have known better, but I got fooled once again by an IMDb rating that seems to be affected by people who have something to do with producing the movie, or haven't watched it themselves. There's no way a production like this should get the high ratings and positive reviews it does.

Hand-held and shaky, combined with some terrible acting
12 April 2017
Even though I really wanted this movie to be my cup of tea, which it could have been if they would have used a tripod and would have taken the time to do a bit of decent casting, it turned out to be everything but that. I'm not saying all actors are bad in this movie, but there are quite a few cringe worthy moments. There's a Dutch speaking guy that can't even manage to get the grammar right. Shaky cam -at times- is so bad, that even slowly walking people are (partially) out of the frame. Drunk filming might be fun to do, but the result is no fun to watch. To be fair, the sound is okay though. It feels like most of the budget was spent on sound and music.

All in all I can't say that I enjoyed this film and I cannot agree with those who claim it's 'the future of action movies'. And if it turns out to be just that, it's a sad future indeed.

I didn't make it to the end, so maybe there's some great stuff that I've missed, but that's a chance I'm willing to take..

Oh my god...It's so bad.
15 March 2017
This must be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Let me rephrase; The worst I've even tried(!) to watch. I didn't make it past ten minutes. The camera work is bad, post production is bad, muzzle flash effect and blood effects are bad and the acting is appalling. It's like an amateur backyard production or some school play.

I decided to watch the 'movie' because at the time I'm writing this it scores 7.3 out of 10!? I don't understand how the IMDb rating can be so high? Have people been paid to write those positive reviews? That said, don't waste your time with this junk.

What just happened?
8 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The movie starts out, kind of Terminator like. A guy wakes up, naked somewhere. He gets put in a police car and when the sheriff arrives, the sheriff recognizes his wive's brother and takes him in. Since Aaron can't / won't speak, all kinds of questions arise. Sometimes there's a alternate view on a situation, seen from some invisible man. But there's no interaction, what so ever, so it is unclear what that is all about. Clues seem to be given, more questions arise (what exactly happened in the dessert?), but when Aaron suddenly starts talking, none of the answers are given. It's all a mystery. In the end there's a scene, on a railroad station, in which I hoped everything would be explained, or clarified, but Aaron opens his eyes and then everything goes black....The end. I don't get it?

Long story short: So many questions, no answers and no ending.
