Oh this film was just DREADFUL!
12 February 2015
Okay. So I have not read the book, (being a male), and I went with one of my female friends who HAD read the book, (and she said she had enjoyed it) -- although having said that, she had read it a number of years ago.

We paid our money and we took our seats. The film began; and I have to say that the wooden acting, the cruddy screenplay, the corny dialogue, the ridiculous script, the highly improbable storyline, were all just TOO much for us! (And not just us it seems! As we could hear titters from the audience at large as well coming from dialogue within the story that were supposed to be serious scenes -- so not just us I hasten to add)...

We gave it half an hour and then I leaned over to my friend and said "Do you think there's any chance they will give us our money back?? What do you think to it?" -- and thank God she replied, "Oh thank Heavens you said that; I can't stand it another minute! Lets just get outta here!!!!!!! It's just terrible".

We got our money back. We complained it was nothing like the book and that we demanded a refund as had only seen half an hour of the movie, and hey presto they refunded my credit card! No questions asked!

I give this rubbish 1 star; and that was for the pretty outdoor scenery!

Don't waste your time with it -- it is Hollywood at it's worst.

Not Very Good
8 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
(Spoilers everywhere). Not very good! I give it 5 out of ten. When the girl died at the end I kept thinking there was going to be some BIG plot twist that was going to mess with my head and was going to go "OH MY GOD -- OF COURSE!!"

For example I thought the old man who had slashed his wrists was going to be an actor, (within the film), brought in to scare the girl, and that he was going to appear back alive again afterwards with the ginger haired guy, and the actress... I thought it was all a big plot/act to kill the girl by the actress and the ginger guy because they were together, and they were an "item" or something! But it wasn't; it was a true ghost story!

The bit with the old man following the girl down the basement was truly crap!! Why would he scare her like that when they had "bonded" earlier on whilst he was alive and she was giving the sheets to him??????? His ghost wouldn't do that to her surely as he was a nice guy; he wanted to come back to the room where he had had his honeymoon and die there like his final letter said!!!! He had no malice towards the girl. His ghost wouldn't have followed her naked down those stairs! How ridiculous.

Dreadful - A Complete Waste Of 25 Minutes
10 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Well I tried my best, but I could only manage about 25 minutes of this God awful film. I was expecting something really good, because I have always wanted to know the REAL story of "Noah" etc, and have wanted to see a decent adaptation of it; but this was just very strange Walking Rocks; exactly in the same manner as those "Walking Trees" from the "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy!! Only these "Walking Rocks" were nasty; (I think???) The whole film is just boring CGI (yeah we've seen it all before), and shooting!!! That's all it is! And how this has managed to get a 6.1 rating God only knows??? Everyone is only giving it a 1, so I can't understand the rating?

All I can say is that Hollywood must have money to burn to make this heap of rubbish. WHY did they make it???????? They have ALL that money to make something thought provoking and GOOD; like "12 YEARS A SLAVE" for example; and yet they make this crap??? It really is the most awful, dull, boring film I have ever seen!

As I said; I gave it 25 minutes and then said to my friends "Oh this is terrible, can't we watch something else??" And everyone agreed! There were four of us. None of us were bothered about it; hence us watching "12 YEARS A SLAVE" instead.

Do yourself a favour and save your money and time. Don't waste it on this rubbish.

Rubbish
28 August 2012
What a load of rubbish! I can't believe I actually went to see this tripe. It was only because I went with friends (and they all wanted to see it), that I went.

Nearly three hours of utter clap-trap. I didn't understand the story-line, I couldn't tell what the guy with the "Alien type" mask over his faced was saying? I couldn't care less about ANY of the characters.. There was no story to it... All of the actors (such as Christian Bale and Michael Caine and Anne Hathaway were obviously just doing it for the money).. Christian Bale should be ashamed as he has done such fine work in his time such as "The Machinist" etc.

All that money and THIS is what Hollywood gives us these days!!!! Where are all the GOOD films these days? Where are the "Schindlers List's"... Where are the "Empire Of The Sun's" or "Eyes Wide Shut", where are all the arty films such as last years "The Artist"?? This film was utter rubbish!
