Another Life (2019–2021)

Not as bad as they say.
21 October 2021
Entertaining for what it was. Was in the mood for horror scifi. It's not quite horror but I remember watching the first season and being pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as cookie cutter as the other shows of this genre currently. The drama can be mildly infuriating sometimes but there's a charm there. Katee Sackhoff is once again a pleasure to watch as well. I was actually afraid after seeing the reviews that we wouldn't get a second season but thankfully they took the chance and made one. Overall not bad for the casual scifi lover.

Surprisingly decent.

For what it's worth this was a reasonably good film. It's short runtime works to its benefit and if you can look past its digital effects, there are some bouts of decent practical work. Don't expect anything profound in terms of script or plot though. Overall, not a bad way to spend under an hour, especially if you've basically seen everything else.

Eh could be worse...

Every holiday season, I like to offset my cookie cutter Hallmark/Lifetime movies with a couple Holiday Horror B movies. Balances it out or something. I've seen some real clunkers and some real gems but Christmas horror movies are especially difficult to get right. This movie however was decent for what it was. Being an anthology film, some segments were of course better than others and the film's limited budget shows but if you enjoy bad movies you'll have a decent enough time here. I found myself wishing that they went a step further to make it pure camp but I wasn't disappointed overall. Anyway grab a beer and have a watch. It definitely isn't the worst of the holiday horrors that's for sure. *No real gore and no nudity.

Deadly Delusion (2017 TV Movie)

Is she crazy or isn't she...after awhile you no longer care

These types of movies do have their audience. The type that can sit down for that runtime and handle the back and forth. When done competently, anyone can get invested. In this film however, only few can withstand the tedium of it all. The movie itself isn't bad. You will go along with the ride and question her sanity as well. You will understand her frustration with herself and everyone around her. And then u just won't care and wait for the answer. I won't reveal anything here but stick with it if you started it, you might as well. But overall some will have a good time and others won't. I didn't, but that's just me.

Entertaining enough...

By no means the best of what lifetime has to offer but I enjoyed it. The adopted daughter aspect gave it a little charm and I even found myself slightly touched by the romance aspect of the film. This however, is a thriller and it leaned more to the so bad it's good thriller territory instead of actual thrills. It had a decent body count, an antagonist that's just the right amount of crazy to make you chuckle. Overall not bad. It had a couple slow moments but not a bad flick when nothing else is on. Oh, keep your eyes open for the "hospital". Just throw some hospital screens next to the wall of this fancy building and put some guys in scrubs and we got a hospital. Hilarious.

Warning: Spoilers
We've seen these movies before. They all follow a formula but we keep coming back because on a rainy day we enjoy turning our brain off and rolling with the predictability. But GOD no one could predict how utterly incompetent everyone in this movie was. The joy from rolling with it turned into complete frustration at the stupidity even on the villain's part. And now.......heavy spoilers so beware.......you have been warned. And now after Jack's death, I am reeling at the only person with any common sense being taken out so quickly. I thought they would at least go with the coma angle. Anyway I got over it but then came the investigation. For a detective to even suspect the daughter over the monster that she questioned who's answers clearly weren't holding up is when I completely tuned out. This movie is a rage and a half. And why is everyone punching in security codes in clear view. Why even bother having them then. As a person that can even laugh at how bad these movies are sometimes, this wasn't funny. Not even a little bit. Oh and one last thing. Why is the detective that caused them grief even invited to the daughter's graduation party? Whatever anyway if you've seen it, you know what I mean and if you haven't, don't bother, you won't be able to just relax with this one.

Batman Begins (2005)
10/10
Batman Begins gets a 10/10 from me
26 June 2005
Being one of the best Batman movies ever made, I must say this movie surprised me and was far beyond my expectations, I can do nothing but pray that they continue making Batman movies of this style. Though some of the action scenes are hard to keep up with, the realism and combination of wit, into those scenes blew me away. Comparing Christian Bale to Micheal Keaton(the best batman to most)is like comparing Pierce Brosnan to Sean Connery. Christian really brings out this movie and plays a role that does nothing but compliment Batman's character,he is the Batman of this time, while Micheal Keaton is the classic(leaving out Adam West), he is the Batman of his time, complimenting Batman's character to the best of his ability with what resources he had available to him. I highly recommend everyone watch this movie, I even brought my mom to watch it and she loved it and she doesn't love any action, adventure, comic movies.Well, except for Spiderman. I plead with everyone to watch it, there are no complaints here!
