Blood Red Sky (2021)
Good movie. Annoying kid.
The movie is good from start to finish, the make up effects, blood, violence etc. All good.
I would have given it 10/10 if the kid had not been there. He's annoying.
8/10.
Cobra Kai (2018)
I need moooore!
I was very excited to see this as soon as I saw it was coming on Netflix. This is just amazing! And you get to see it from Johnny's side as well from when he was young. They really nailed the show. I ended up binge watching this.
Now I just need MOOORE! Waiting for season 3 now!
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020)
Woow! A must watch!
This MK movie is absolutely amazing. Done to perfection imo. If you are an MK fan, then this is a must watch!
There is lots of fighting, gore, X-Rays and fatalities. It is all done very well!
I hope they make a sequel.
10/10
The Strain (2014)
Great show, except for that kid, Zack.
I liked this show and the casting , except for Zack. That kid is so annoying. I kept wishing he would die or get sent somewhere else, just something so he would disappear from the show.
Season 1 is best and then it slowly goes downhill from there.
It's a shame that a lot of good shows include some annoying kid.
9/10.
Stupid kid..
13 Reasons Why (2017)
3rd season irritates me
I really loved 1st and 2nd season. Was so happy when 3rd season came out. BUT that Ani person is incredibly annoying in my opinion. She just randomly appears in 3rd season, she is narrowing and just annoying to listen to. The narrator should have been one (Clay tbh) from 1st or 2nd season. Not some new girl..
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
"Shape Shifters"
Need more films as those werewolves in "Shape Shifters"
Sadly, nowadays we only get big dogs and/or wolves, which people will then refer to as "werewolves" in movies. It's annoying.. or we get people who are a bit more hairy with a bit of makeup.. Also not good enough for me..
If anyone reading this are familiar with the "Underworld" movies, you then know what I mean when I say REAL werewolves..
I liked a lot of the other episodes as well.
Overall 10/10 for me. Saw it all in one go.
Dirty John: The Dirty Truth (2019)
Those recaps really annoyed me
I do get that John was a very bad man but once again we only get one side of the story. He was not serial killer or a murderer. Yes he had a knife at the end but we only don't know if SHE brought the knife and he wrestled it out of her and what not. Point is - we only get one side of the story.
I would have rated this 6-7 - the one sided story annoyed me.
I decided to give it 4 because of all the recaps where it goes back like 15-20 seconds and repeats itself. That reeeeaaaalllly annoyed me. It was also because of the recaps I decided to write this review..
Ready Player One (2018)
I haven't read the book/books?
Judging by A LOT of the other reviews it seems a lot of people are judging this is bad BECAUSE of the book (books if there's more than one)
I just watched this movie, knowing nothing about the book, and I liked it. It's enjoyable to watch and very different from usual movies.
And it seems some people also think it's stupid that this actor refers to the '80's a lot since it was waaaaay before he was born and all that. I was born 1990 and I like the '80's music and some of the films. I don't get why this is a problem.
To sum it all up - you probably shouldn't watch this if you have read the book, 'cause it would seem you would be disappointed.
Otherwise go ahead and watch this for what it is -> a movie..
10/10 imo
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Fantastic show!
I watch sooo so so many movies and I usually read reviews on movies/series before I watch them.
I did this as well with this show. It's odd because it seems that either people LOVE it or HATE it. I didn't seem to find reviews that were in between those two.
Here's why I think this show is amazing -> first of, the cast does an amazing job, the music always seems to fit and the past is right where it should be. Every episode ends with you wanting more and more. The scares are excellent and done really well. The show jumps back and forth all the time but not in any confusing way and everything always adds up in the end of an episode.
And it's not just a cliche with angry ghosts like you see so often. I'm not gonna spoil anything but I will say that the ending surprised me a lot - in a good way.
I don't think there will be a 2nd season, well, they don't NEED to make a 2nd season since everything added up in the end, but I hope they do anyway and maybe give us some history with how it all first started when the house was build and why the house is what it is.
Anyway - if you like horror (and a movie with a good story) you should definitely give this show a go.
I give this 10/10
Hold the Dark (2018)
No explanation for anything that happened
So I watched the first half of this movie last night but I got to tired halfway in that I went to bed and saw the rest of it today. We get no explanation whatsoever as to why anything happens in this movie. Appareantly the mother killed their child for no reason? I THINK they wanted us to compare them to wolves - they eat their youngest when they have no other way of getting food, so they preserve their pack this way. So the mother killed the child because there wasn't enough food? But she didn't eat him, she just killed him and then nothing.
The father as angry through the film but for some reason seems to forgive her anyway..
An angry man decides to go on a killing spree because he is sad/angry his kid is dead. Okaaaaay.
And we have no idea why the wolf hunting man was called by the wife since no wolf killed the boy..
TBH I wanted to give this a 2/10 but I like Alexander as an actor and decided to give this 4/10 for that reason alone.
Death Note: Desu nôto (2006)
Wow. Just... woooow
This show is absolutely amazing! I have only seen the American "Death Note" -> don't bother if you ask me. But this show, just truly amazing. Every episode leaves you wanting more and more and more. I am about to watch "Death Note" movies now as well - the Japanese ones.
Evil Things (2009)
Fast forward to 57 minutes..
I usually don't do reviews. I read reviews and I give scores - but rarely make a review. But for this film, I just had to. The first 57 minutes, absolutely nothing happens.. You see them sit in a car talking while they drive. Then a car drives past them and slows down aaaaand drives past them again. They eat, and they move on - sooo back to driving and talking again. They come to the house - they talk some more and now drink a little - nothing else. And BAM 57 minutes has passed.. And what has happened? Nothing.. Then the narrative changes to the "bad guy's" camera as he films them doing everything we just saw earlier.. Just through a different camera... Some of the cast disappeared. How? No idea. Who took them? No idea. What happened to them? No idea. Really disappointing.. And why the f... does the bad guy make some weird clicking noise? Sounds unnatural, like he is supernatural/alien/mutant of some sort. But we don't know - 'cause we get told nothing..
My advise -> don't waste your time on this. Move along and find another movie instead.
100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck (2012)
So underrated!
First off -> DO NOT trust the bad reviews!
This is a perfectly good movie! (well, the story has been told so many times, but so what) The story is the usual stuff. The acting is good. The build up is good. The scares are good. The visuals are good. The whole scenery is good.
I have no idea why people rate this as bad. Because I can assure you that that is NOT the case!
I watch A LOT of movies. I know bad when I see it. I have been wanting to see this movie a lot of times but always ended up seeing one I knew was good because of the bad reviews, but now I just thought "Well - I'll just give it a go." And I am glad I did!
The story reminds a lot of Grave Encounters. They lock themselves in a building hoping for to catch a glimpse of a ghost and/or multiple ghosts.
I just had to write this review so that people would know that this movies deserves the chance to be watched!
Overall I would give this movie 8/10 (they story should have been different since we all know it) but I rated it 10 because it's underrated on IMDb.
Anti-Social (2015)
This is a great movie!
I will start by saying that I see a lot of movies. So many movies that I always check the description on IMDb and the score. Then I also watch the reviews to see what other people think. There were only two other reviews and they were pretty much bad reviews.
But it does have a score of 6 and I could not find another movie to watch. So I thought "I will just give it a try" and I am glad I did! This is a good movie! I don't know what the other two people were expecting from this, but maybe something like "Snatch" as one of the other reviewers compared it to this. I, however, think it's more like "The Town" with Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner.
There are two brothers. They have a really good relationship but they aren't alike. One is really into art "grafitti" and the other is in a gang of four people. The gang rob jewelries and we also see them use guns sometimes. But even though the two brothers have separated lives, their paths still cross as they want to help each other any way they can. I won't give any spoilers and therefor I won't say anymore about the storyline.
The acting is great. The camera works great as well. Everyone does a good job.
I did not find anything wrong with the ending. We are told everything we need to know. We also see a bit more after the credits have begun - so don't stop the movie right away when the credits begin ;)
I give this movie 10 stars out of 10. Don't hesitate to watch it and if my review isn't enough to persuade you, then watch the trailer or something and just give it a go :) You will know from the beginning if this is not a movie for you :)
iZombie (2015)
Well well well
I have to admit that when I first looked at this show, the cover and pictues etc., I thought it would be some kind of chick flip. Don't get me wrong, there is drama and cute guys - you know them pretty boys and such. Rose McIver does a really good job. She is pretty, she's funny and she is very good at playing the different "characters" when she eats their brains.
I my opinion, this is a show that can be watched for guys, girls and even couples. It got a bit of everything. I am happy that I started seeing this show (I am currently at episode 6) and will continue to watch it.
So give it a shot and see if you like it - you will deffo find out in the plot if this is something you want to see or not.
10/10
The 100 (2014)
Incredibly good!
*** NO SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW ***
This show is really good! For a long time I was thinking that maybe I should see it, but I never really got around to it except for a couple of days ago! And I was hooked immediately! I kept thinking that it is probably some chick flip or something but it is not.
There is drama, there is action, there is suspense and lots of blood! And the acting is really good in my opinion. The pace is good! - You don't feel like it is moving to slow or fast. It is all just very good! (Except the animals for some reason.. The animals are very CGI (But don't worry - there aren't a lot of animals, so it's okay))
I started watching this about 4-5 days ago and it took me about 2-3 days before I was done watching the first season. And now I am almost done with the second season already. And it's not even a week ago I started watching the show!
A lot of TV Series have a long and slow plot (At least I think so) but this just jumps right into it all!
The only shame is that there are no more than two seasons at the moment ;)
I rate this a clear 10 out of 10 stars!
Just give it a shot! And if you are in doubt, just watch the first episode and there is a high chance you will get hooked like me! :)
The Captive (2014)
Moves to slow
I love to watch movies in general. Before I watch a movie I always go to IMDb and look at the ratings, then the summary and final the reviews. People seems to have some mixed feelings about this one. Either they love it or they hate it. So I decided to give it a try.
First off, I want to say that the action is good - no problem there. But it is veeeerrrry slow! And they keep jumping from time to time. A bit annoying because they look the same age anyway.. (Well, Ryan does and the wife does for the most of times) But after a few minutes they will get you some hints. f.example something like -> "How are you doing since it has now been six years?" And suddenly in a sentence something like "We don't talk as much as we used to eight years ago when we lost her". Stuff like that.
I have no idea how it ends as I turned it off after 52 minutes. It just moves to slow for my taste. I thought maybe it would be something like "Prisoners" with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal (It's not if you ask me).
I have given it 3 (three) stars because it probably is a good movie, if you are just looking for some time to kill, and you like watching Ryan Reynolds and don't mind the slow paste. But - to boring for me.
Have a good day :)
Unbroken (2014)
What's all the hate about? I like it!
I think this was a very good movie and I was excited throughout the whole movie! But yes - I get what some people say -> while they are on the boat, it seemed their beard was well attended. Like there was a razor of some sort. But I liked it very much and I would recommend this movie to others! Just the ending I did not like that much - it was like "Oh it's been two hours now, we better hurry and wrap this up". I wanted a a more emothional response from his family and he telling them how horrible it was etc. It was just "Oh hey mom and dad - THE END"
So I will give this movie 9 out of 10 as I wanted a bit more from the ending.
Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
Storyline is as it should be. Although poor acting
Alright - I have just know created an account here so that I can write a review for this movie and also because A LOT of people writing reviews for this movie have NOT read the books and yet they complain about the storyline.. So let me just make it clear - the storyline is as it is in the books!
So why is it so many give this movie 1/10 for storyline and calling it "soft porn" and bad attempt to "BDSM" etc.? IF you had read the books you would know that that IS what is written in the books. That is also the case in the 2nd book AND the 3rd book! So pleeeeaaaassse don't give it a bad grade on storyline when clearly it follows the book as it should..
Alright - having said this I will tell my review if the movie. It's crap.. The books are a lot better. I have read all three of them. But I gotta agree with most of the other reviewers on here - the acting is very poor - no chemistry and very poor dialogue. They completely ruined my picture of how Christian Grey is in the books. It was bad casting actors. They should have chosen other more experienced actors (if such were auditioning)
1/10 for the very bad acting. 3/10 for the casting. I am sorry - but I just REALLY cant see this Jamie as Christian Grey.. Dakota is fine - she just needs some more acting lessons.. 7/10 for storyline. (They were missing some scenes from the books as in my opinion were important)
So overall I give this movie 4 stars (And that is me being generous)
