Dynasty: A Real Actress Could Do It (2022)
More OG characters please
I am in love with S5 ad because I am also a fan of the original, S5 is especially fun to watch with all the OG references. When I saw Daniel Reece, I was so surprised, because he was only in S5, but I loved that they did a reboot version of Daniel. Now Ashley Mitchell has to come. I would also love to see Caress, Sable and Blake's brother Ben, on the show. And I want Claudia and Steven to return. Hopefully the writers listen to the fans.
Dynasty: A Little Fun Wouldn't Hurt (2022)
Loving S5 of Dynasty
Loved this episode. So happy about all the OG characters and OG storylines. S5 is the best season yet. I wish we got to see more of Alexis. I always associate Dynasty with Alexis, and she needs to have a bigger storyline. I also missed Dex.
Dynasty: Go Catch Your Horse (2022)
Great episode. Alexis and Dex are amazing.
I loved 5x04; all the OG storylines and OG characters were a real treat indeed. I am really loving Alexis this season, and Dex is a very welcome addition. Great casting too. I hope they make Alexis and Dex business partners like in the OG, Dex's shouldn't be reduced to only Alexis' boyfriend. He has so much potential. And Alexis seriously needs to run an empire, that is what she is known for. She also needs more screentime 🙌 I am so hoping Dex is promoted to series regular in S6. On the less positive: I sorry to say, once again Culhane proves to be a character that has totally run his course. He's been with the show for 5 seasons, in every single episode! It's time to write him off, to make room for Dex and other OG characters. I am really hoping Claudia will make a return soon.
Dynasty: The Aftermath (2021)
One of the best episodes of season 4.
This episode was amazing. Alexis finally got the screentime she deserved. All of Alexis and Dominique's scenes were extremely entertaining. I loved the OG wibe this episode had. Chris Fife should become the showrunner of Dynasty. Every fan agrees.
Dynasty: You Vicious, Miserable Liar (2021)
Where is Alexis?
This was an "OK" episode but nothing really special. I did enjoy Adam and Amanda's rivalry. The most disappointing thing about the episode was that there was no Alexis. I don't understand why Elaine seems to be getting less and less screen time. And she goes missing in every other episode now. It' annoying because Alexis started of so strong in season 4. But now she is barely on the show. It's very odd, considering that Alexis is an iconic character, and fans are calling her and Dominique the highlights of season 4. Alexis better be in all 22 episodes next season, plus they need to introduce Dex! And I think it´ time to recast Steven and bring him back to the show. I couldn't care less about Fallon and Liam.
Dynasty: Stars Make You Smile (2021)
Amazing episode
This episode was amazing! It was among the best episodes this season, together with the first two episodes and episodes 13. I have never seen Alexis written so well before. Episode 17 should be the blueprint for how Alexis' character should be approached, as a manipulative vixen. I do hope her wardrobe gets more colorful in later episodes though, but Alexis was on fire this week. 4x17 was Dynasty at it's best; great character development, great writing; a lot of drama and not to heavy on the comedy. Plus the directing was "movie-like" amazing, but it's no surprise as Michael Allowitz is for sure the show's best director, his work on Dynasty cannot be matched. I am so glad the writers are finally embracing the original Dynasty and not trying so hard to make it "a different show". The writer and the director of episode 17 should do every single episode of Dynasty. Bravo!
Dynasty: I Hate to Spoil Your Memories (2021)
Solid episode, but no Alexis
This was a very well written episode. The tone was right, as well as balance between drama and comedy. But Alexis should be in every single episode, so I really missed her in this one. Still, a good episode.
Dynasty: Your Sick and Self-Serving Vendetta (2021)
Alexis and Dominique stole the show.
This was a decent episode. Alexis and Dominique stole the show like always. Cristal and Blake were very good. Fallon and Liam had the most predictable and stale storyline, as usual. But what is unforgivable is the slander done to Sam, and thus the whole LGBTQ community, the OG and the entire Dynasty fanbase. When Sam doesn't have a storyline, the writers always end up reducing him to a stereotypical gay best friend. When he does have a storyline, he's a cheater, liar and a complete mockery of the forward thinking character he was with Steven. They need to reintroduce Steven, even if they have to to recast him. Steven was the first gay regular on TV, an iconic character that encouraged countless of people to come to terms with being gay. Steven is a historically important character that changed the landscape of TV, yet he has been replaced by a bland stereotype, that is becoming a total embarrassment.
Dynasty: Equal Justice for the Rich (2021)
amazing episode worthy of the Dynasty name
This episode was one of the best I have seen in a long time. It had drama, good built-up, character development and minimal comedy. I love how season 4 feels more like the first season and not like season 3. It is also more similar to the original Dynasty. Last season was a major mis-step but S4 has been very good, and this episode is how Dynasty should be written. Bravo.
Dynasty: A Little Father-Daughter Chat (2021)
There is no Dynasty without Alexis!
406 was an "ok episode". I was happy there was no silly sitcom nonsense like in the tragically bad 404. However, 406 tought us just how important Alexis is to Dynasty. 406 felt very flat and emply without her. Alexis and Dominique have been the stars of S4. Period. 406 was not a horrible episode at all, and I can appreciate that it was more grounded, mature and less silly than S3, and no singing! BUT, 406 also proved that Fallon and Liam are NOT "carrying the show". This is Dynasty, not "The Falliam romance comedy". Alexis and Dominique are way more interesting characters than Fallon and Liam, their time has passed it seems. Anders, Jeff, and Adam are also much more interesting. The writing is on the wall, and it's time for the writers to open their eyes and read it.
Dynasty: New Hopes, New Beginnings (2021)
Finally Dynasty is being written for people over 13
Finally the writers deliver a mature episode, great character development, and consistant storytelling. The Colbys got a really good storyline. Dominique was great and showed depth, guilt and regret. Michele played it so well, she "painted with a fine brush", not playing it weepy, just a clean and subtle performance. Culhane and Sam's story was well written. Blake and Cristal's story was very good. The comedy and drama has never been so well balanced. Really enjoyed seeing Monica again and Jeff was great. It would have been nice to see more of Alexis though. But 4x05 was one of the best written Dynasty episode I have seen. It was a huge improvement over last week's trainwreck of an episode.
Dynasty: Guilt Trip to Alaska (2019)
Excellent season premier
I really liked this episode. I loved Daniella as Cristal and her character kept getting better and better, unfortunately this can not be said about other characters that really deflated with every single episode. Dominique was fantastic in this episode, a true villainess and not the cartoon version that we see later in season 3. There was some impressive camera work in this episodes and I loved the ending. There is a noticeable change in tone this season. It is much more comical and really lacking in depth and drama. I don't know why they changed the tone so much as previous seasons had a good mix of drama and comedy. The premier however is very enjoyable to watch, I only wish this quality had continued for the rest of the season, but something really went wrong.
Dynasty: Something Desperate (2019)
Unwatchable episode
The show sure has taken a bad turn. While season 3 is mostly an enjoyable season, the increasing amount of musical numbers are concerning and even though some like it, alot of fans do not and are really put off by this new comical "high-school musical" approach. Even though the reboot is aimed for younger audience does not mean that only teenagers watch the show nor that the young viewers do not enjoy the older characters. It is a global hit and all kinds of people watch it. This new approach is alienating a very large part of the fandom. These loyal fans have supported Dynasty since season 1. It is clear that the first season is the most popular one, a view shared by all age groups. The balance of drama and comedy was very good at first, but now the show is way too comical and "kid-friendy" with a noticeable lack of the drama that the show is known for. I hope next season will be more drama-heavy and less "bubble-gumish". Less musical numbers and sitcom comedy would be ideal as alot of viewers are moving away from the show now after watching season 3. It seems the network and cast are more interested in what they like to do than what fans want to see. Even though this show is a reboot and should not be a copy/paste of the original, it is still based on a cultural and iconic TV show and the show is becoming a mockery. CW would be surprised how many older fans watch the show; age 20-40, which is hardly old. Episode 4 is the worst episode of the entire 64 episodes by far and, I am sorry to say, an insult to the original series. I would hope the network rethink their approach because the show is becoming a total parody and looks like it is now a platform for Liz to show off her voice. Liz is extremely talented singer, but the show should still utilize the older cast more and decrease the comedy/musical elements to keep integrity of the show intact.
