Infinity Pool (2023)
Infinitely lame
I hated this movie. It feels like a teenager project that got a budget by mistake. It desperately tries to be smart and shocking but the result is a shallow, childish and boring concatenation of scenes. The premise is kind of overdone already. The story and the writing are so poor that there is little to build on top of that. The characters are zero dimensional and nonsensical. The editing style and the score are a pain. So I couldn't recommend any adult to watch this movie, perhaps to edgy 14 year olds? The funniest of all is the fact that some of the movie themes revolve around lacking artistic talent as well as living out of one's parents' success. I wonder if Cronenberg Jr is about to grasp some kind of realisation here. My advice to him would be to consider directing other screenplays than his own.
Por H o por B (2020)
Funny inside joke with a message
For the Spanish viewer, this series should be fun! I had many laughs following the 2 female characters' weird adventures. There is an obvious message about reconciliation with one's self as individuals and as a community, which gets very clear by the end of the season. The sheer absurdity of many of the scenes often got me chuckling unexpectedly.
Lovecraft Country (2020)
Enlightening, entertaining and well crafted
After 3 episodes, i gave this series a 5 rating and dropped it off. Fool me!
Now that I watched it complete, just wow!
I was not ready for it, incredible, powerful and beautiful.
Everybody should know this story, and all Lovecraft/Sci-fi fans should enjoy it.
But don't be like me and have some patience for its depth to unfold.
I just started watching it again!
A Cure for Wellness (2016)
Dark-dreamy mysterious wonder
This movie it's darkly beautiful and suspenseful at the same time. Every aspect of it drowns you from reality into a dream then into a 19th century nightmare.
The story line it's unveiled slowly with enough information so you understand the main events of it, leaving ambiguously explained some other details so you must come face to the specific truth by yourself.
I saw some reviews complaining about the plot not making sense which I disagree completely.
And other reviewers who, having get the plot, did not liked it. Maybe because of it's Lovecraftian taste to it.
I have happened to really enjoy it.
A bit too long though :D
Thrive: What on Earth Will It Take? (2011)
Pretty simple IQ test for your family & friends
If you would like to know whom of your family and friends would believe any BS they get thrown at without applying any kind of fact checking, critical thinking or, what is worse, basic common sense; just share this documentary with your contact list and wait for positive responses. Mind, the result of such simple test might crush your heart.
