Dirty Old Cars (2023)
So staged it's offensive to our intelligence
When I read the synopsis I knew right away the cars were gonna be proped up to increase the /before/after change effect, so it did not surprise me that that's exactly what happens here.
What is offensive to the viewers intelligence is that the "dirty makeup" they give the cars is ridiculous and out of place. Take the Maverick from the first episode for example. Anyone that watches a detailing show like this is into cars and probably car detailing and mechanics, so anyone can see that the algae on that paint is very real. The car was clearly sitting outside on a high humidity shaded area. Anyone recognises the severity of the situation and therefore casn appreciate the work of those guys bringing that paint back to life. So WHY would the special effects/prop guys add that ridiculous pile of leaves on top on the hood?
My theory is that they didn't bother enough to find a crew that knows cars, so they just try to make the cars look dirty and fail miserably.
Btw, what detail shop would bring that maverick inside and blow the leaves all over? When it was clearly just a pile easily removable by hand?
Not to mention, like another review, that those leaves would have just flew over on transportation.
Day Shift (2022)
It's bad
First scene in itself is hard to go through. This movie is a series of product placements disguised as a gigantic plothole.
Why would this guy hunt Vampires for 800$? He could make much more money with his company. Makes no sense. Also he is a terrible shot... when it serves the plot.
Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives. (2022)
This is garbage
Doc leads you on under very obviously false premises, lying to the spectator, using said lies as a narrative vehicle, to then reveal they are indeed lies.
I'm not spoiling it, bue there is a specific aspect of the story that was very unbelievable since the begining and turns out, it was indeed a lie. I can't get past that point. I already lost almost 3 years of my life. This people are all garbage, including the director.
