Fear the Walking Dead: Welcome to the Club (2020)
Video Game Cutscene
Majority of the episode felt like a cutscene from a video game. The awkward silences without any background music, at least most of them and even some of the hand movements as well. The long pauses in a conversion between two characters, for example - "We can't hold her off.", and then the reply - "No....we can't.". It all just felt odd, compared to last week's episode, The End Is the Beginning. All in all this was an ok episode.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017)
Cringe Fest
I'd stick to the first 3 movies if i want to watch some diary of a wimpy kid movies, because they are actually funny, a little cringey but funny. This one though, the writers and actors tried but failed miserably. It looks to me that they tried their best but not at all. Not one bit. I loved the all the acting in the first 3 way more than in this movie and that being said, I'd stick to reading the book instead.
Blair Witch (2016)
Completely underrated and misunderstood in my opinion
Yes. We do get to see the Blair witch this time around in the last 5 - 10 min of the movie. I think this movie is on par with the first movie. Its actually that great. And I really loved the subtlety in this one where a drone was used to capture landscape of the forest for them to find the so called "house" where James's sister was last heard from the first movie. And also, of course, the earpiece cameras were a great subtle addition and made things more "on the edge of my seat" I guess. Normally in many found footage horror movies, the protagonist is the one holding the camera the entire time or sometimes their partner/best friend etc. But that wasn't the case with this movie. Every actor/actress got an equal amount of screen time because of the earpiece cameras, and I feel like that's rare with found footage films. There were a plethora of jump scares and man I got spooked like hell. However, there were some things I was able to easily predict like the main protagonist, right from the first 15 min. The director Adam Wingard directed a couple other found footage horrors that I hope I will enjoy and this dude was the perfect pic to direct this movie imo. I hope he directs a found footage alien/ufo movie sometime in the near future, I know that sounds kinda corny but that's just what I'm into nowadays.
The Blacklist: Redemption: Whitehall: Conclusion (2017)
WHY DID IT STOP?!?!?
This show, the spin-off from The Blacklist is just pure brilliance. I mean the writing, the directing, everything to the last detail is everything i want to see in an action/crime show like this. I hope to god this gets revived soon, somehow but until then I'l be watching the original show, The Blacklist which is also again up to the mark. 10\10 both shows.
