Candyman (2021)
YAWNFEST!
I watched this film with some high hopes but wow was it bad..😮
Too much talking and very little action.
If you yawn 5 times stop watching it and watch the classic original instead.
Ballad in Blood (2016)
Magnifico!
I absolutely loved this film... Bonkers but Brilliant! I did not know quite what to expect when I started watching it, but from start to finish I was 'totally' hooked! When I saw that it was made by a famous Italian director (Ihave seen several of his horror films) I knew from the start this was going to be interesting. Great looking actors, good acting, beautiful scenery and a story-line that keeps you guessing. It has made me want to watch more of Ruggero's films and also to visit Italy! This film is 'never' dull. I will definitely be adding it to my DVD collection. If you like horror films you will love this...
Cabin Fever (2016)
An Excellent Remake Of A Classic
I really do not understand all the low ratings for this film... Being an avid horror fan and having seen the excellent original 2002 Eli Roth classic I watched this remake Nov sure what to expect. A few minutes in and I realised I was going to enjoy this.. For someone who has seen countless friends in peril horror films what struck me was this felt totally 'fresh and new'. Action from start to finish....I was not bored for a moment! The acting was good, the photography was excellent and so too was the musical score (my home cinema speakers certainly took a pounding in places). The special affects were good...especially the rabid like dog! These days too many films made with plenty of hard work and the very best of intentions are criticised and put down....ignoring all the 'good' things about them and instead just pointing out all the bad points.. Personally I did not find 'anything' I did not like about this film. My only regret is that I did not get to see this at the Cinema....I would have very much liked that! I would like to thank 'everyone' involved in this film for making it an excellent and very polished remake. I enjoyed it from start to finish and I hope you too will give this a chance and enjoy it as much as I did....
Wyrmwood (2014)
Yet Another Excellent Australian Film!
I love Apocalyptic films and I love Zombie films... Here is a super Australian films that combine both but in a totally and exciting original way! Action from start to finish this film had me gripped. The Australians certainly know how to make films in new and interesting ways... It's such a pity that more of them are given a Cinema release so more people can become aware of them. If you like action films or The Walking Dead then this film is for you. This is the Directors first full length film and what a great start! Am so glad he is making a sequel... I shall definitely be watching his films from now on. Great Action with some good humour thrown in....enjoy!
Kiss of the Damned (2012)
A Modern Day Classic
Let me begin by saying I am a big fan of Vampire Movies.... There are very few Vampire films I have not yet seen! I stumbled across this film on Amazon and the title made me think it was an olden classic. Nope! It's a great title (I am amazed it has not already been used already) but this film is just a young one made only 3 years ago! I expected it to be just another low budget vampire flick but I was deeply impressed... The story had me hooked from the beginning. The actors were good and had me transfixed also. The settings, the music, the dialogue......everything was ticking the right boxes for me in this film! The Vampires were attractive and there was plenty of nudity. I very much enjoyed it and I really hope the female director continues providing more films like this (this film being her first vampire/horror film). I couldn't help but notice just how well the film was made. I watched another vampire film recently that came very highly recommended (Only Lovers Left Alive) but Kiss Of The Damned is so much better than that one!! Highly recommended and if you are a Vampire Fan this one is one not to be missed and one to own. Enjoy!
It Follows (2014)
The Future Of Horror....
Saw the Trailer for this film and it looked good... I wasn't disappointed!! From start to finish it had you gripped. A sense of unease permeated throughout the film. You didn't know what shocks and scares were going to come at you and from where.. I loved the film The Babadook (apart from the very disappointing ending) but this film was even scarier! I guarantee you will jump at least once and i dare you to watch this alone at night..... I congratulate this fairly new Director on creating such an excellent film and as an avid horror fan i very much hope he will be bringing us some more scary films. There are too many horror films these days that follow similar themes and ideas so its so refreshing to see something new and different. This film breathes new life into the horror genre.... Go see it. You wont be disappointed.

The Only Film I Have Ever Come Close To Walking Out On!
I am regular Cinemagoer and the Trailer for this film looked interesting.... The reviews were mainly excellent it seemed and so i decided to take the plunge! Wow!! How terrible this film was and how totally disappointed with it i was. Where do i begin.... The score for this film (if you can call it that!) was basically someone banging a drumkit what seemed every few minutes! Crash bang wallop!! I was starting to get a headache within about twenty minutes.... The storyline that unfolded before me felt like i was watching a broadcast of a stageplay rather than a cinema film experience (in fact had i seen it on stage i would have been slightly more forgiving in my opinion of it). Some good acting, but what a boring plot! I was convinced that some of the audience watching with me would walk out! I was amazed that none of them did, but i think that, like me, they were hoping that it would at least get better or surprise us with a great conclusion...but NO!! I was wrong to go see this film and although i 'just about' managed to sit all the way through it, i could only bring myself a rating of 1 out of 10. I feel sorry for anyone else splashing out to see this dreadful movie and hoping to be entertained and expecting something special.
These Final Hours (2013)
Wow! Loved This Film!
I wasn't sure what to expect when i saw this.. Maybe a Mad Max type of film perhaps. What i found was a totally absorbing and moving film! I loved it! The budget was about two million and a half and it got a limited Australian Cinema release. Had it had more budget for advertising and a Distributor willing to give it a worldwide cinema release, i reckon it would easily more than made what it cost to make!! It's such a shame that films as good as this don't receive the attention and audience that they should... I would have loved to have had the pleasure of seeing this on the big screen. It's an action film, but also a romance and one i could watch over and over. I will definitely be keeping an eye out on what else this Director releases. Having enjoyed it so much i set about looking into what other good films have been made down under!
