Stillwater (2021)
Amazing Film!
I know that this film is "loosely" based on the Amanda Cox case, but I did not relate the viewing to that case. Instead I enjoyed the movie every-single-second, with a stellar (!) performance from Matt Damon. How his character manages to show that he needs to control himself, while obviously there is a lot of emotions being supressed, all along the movie, he only opens up when others want him to. An amazing cast supplements the storyline, and I am very satisfied to have seen this movie this Xmas!
Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
Thoroughly Entertaining sequel!
I saw the movie on December 4, Indonesian premiere.
The whole story is a good follow up from the "Welcome to the Jungle" Jumanji-2 film, with some added actors (Danny DeVito and Danny Glover as a good choice.
While I was confused in the beginning, who was who once they were back in the game, the script itself allowed the avators to be exchanged so that they went back to the "Welcome to the Jungle" avators and the people who were in those (I hope you understand what I mean).
The story is simply a new adventure, and so much different from the previous instalment that it is not boring at all, and while it is rated PG13, I found that in general, it is a very good family movie.
All in all, and in all honesty, I already look forward to Jumanji 4 (Xmas 2020 or Xmas 2021 would do just fine.
Thumbs up for the movie, 8/10!
Time Lapse (2014)
Absolutely Amazing; beautiful script and movie.
I have never given a comment here before and I won't easily do this anyway. But while the movie could be a little more clear in the workings of the camera, the storyline is astonishing. The three main Characters are very well played and while you do not see it coming, it is all believable by far. Money and power does things to us that we would not accept if being told beforehand. Both the writer and producer have done an exceptional job and I have enjoyed every second of the film. I still haven't wrapped my head around the timing issue which is the red-line of the film, but I will let you work that out for yourselves. But you will be entertained in a very novel way, and seeing this movie was worth to see 1000%!
