Dogman (2023)
I surprisingly really liked it...
I surprisingly really liked this movie!
Surprisingly after reading some of the mostly bad reviews in here. It is a kind of weird but still very interesting story. Some says that the plot and some of the dog-action scenes, are really out there and could never happen in the real world - well maybe the are right in some deegree, but surprise surprise it's a movie and therefore fiction. But if you "buy" the premise and dive into it, I promise you, it will be worth it in the end ;o)
If the Academy looks this films way, then Caleb Landry Jones, the lead actor, deservingly will be a contender for an Oscar - What a performance!
I was never bored watching this and if thats not enough reason to watch it, then watch it for the performance of Caleb Landry Jones.
The Volcano: Rescue from Whakaari (2022)
A must see...
This is a really heartbreaking story and at the same time a fantastic documentary.
I lost track of time while watching, so if you are into fascinating documentaries this film is a must see.
It's beatifully shot, but I guess that's just the case when filming in New Zealand. Respect to the survivers for participating in the film and telling us their stories. Especially the brave young man that lost his parents and sister to Whakaari, and of course to all that helped in any way like the heroic helicopter pilots!
Im only left with one unanswered question: What happened to the ones in charge of the incompetent authorities ordering the emergency helicopters to fly back???
This film made wanting to go visit NZ, meet its seemingly fantastic Kiwis, explore the nature but not visiting any active volcano.
Nothing Compares (2022)
Thoughtful and brilliant!
I saw this really interesting documentary yesterday for the CPH-DOX festival in a packed cinema hall.
I myself have a couple of old and dusty Sinéad O'Connor albums, but they have unfortunately like Sinéad herself been forgotten with time .... And that's a shame, well almost a sin, as she and especially the 3 amazing albums from 1987-92 deserve to be heard! I got several songs, some new ones too, on repeat in my head after seeing the film, "Mandinka" among others.
I was looking forward to the super hit with over 200 million plays on Spotify, which, however, was not included in the documentary due to the rights holders! (Prince Estate!)
Apart from the music, the film took me back in time to my own youth and was both interesting, touching, funny and really really thoughtful especially with the eyes of today.
It deserves to be seen, and Sinéad deserves to be heard.
Midsommar (2019)
Dont believe the haters ;o)
Dont believe the haters, I really liked it.
Its not a SCARY movie with a lot of jumpscares etc. - But a very intense and disturbing movie with beautiful cinematography.
Give it a try
Ronny Chieng: Asian Comedian Destroys America (2019)
Just very very funny :o)
I didn't know Ronny Chieng before I saw this tv-speciel on my IPad 10.000 meters up in the air! It made my flight both fun and seemingly shorter! I didn't snoor but definetely laughed out loud a couple of times. His comedy-range is wide, and he is just very very funny, thats it!
Nice to see something/someone new on the comedy stage - I'm now a fan and will find out more about this funny f... - Ronny Chieng a future comedy star!
Klovn the Final (2020)
Le Grand Finale - Perfect ending...
Really really funny ending to the "Klovn" universe! If you like "Klovn" then you will love this movie. It's awkward, over the top, true to the Klovn-universe and basically hilarious.
I watched this movie at a fully packed Copenhagen cinema, and throughout the movie you could hear giggling, big and noisy laughs and someone saying "oh no...." when Frank and Casper was About to do Something crazy :o)
I predict that about 1 million danes Will go see "Klovn - the final" - Thats more or less about 20% of Denmarks population!
You Will lave the cinema energized and with a BIG smile om tour face!
Go see it.....
The Irishman (2019)
Joe Pesci is Better Than ever....
The only bad ting About this movie is the kind of experimental use of CGI! Everything else is more or less Perfect.
Bobby and Al is of course great actors, Maybe the best of all time, but the star of the film is in my eyes Joe Pesci - he is better than ever 😊
I will recommend all to watch the following "The Irishman- in conversation" Also by Netflix and with Al, Bob, Joe and Mr. Scorsese.
Joker (2019)
2nd time and still amazing......
Saw Joker for the second time in a cinema to night, and I was still both entertained and amazed over this masterpiece......
One of the best films for many years and just might the best performance by a leading actor since Taxidriver and still maybe even better....
Joaquin must win the Oscar for that performance.... I was blown away by his portrail of Joker.
Go see it for the first, second or maybe eight time👍😊
