Heartbreaking
16 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Watching the documentary, all I could think was, "I want to hug an elephant now." The news coverage of Tyke's death was so full of contradictories. There were never any reports of the authorities trying to tranquilize her. Twice, Tyke broke free from the circus, she should've been transported to a sanctuary. She could've been roaming free, had it not been for the greed of the circus.

I saw news coverage of Tyke's death when I was a child and never forgot it. Seeing it again all these years later, I am still as disturbed as I was the first time. You can see the sadness in her eyes as she laid dying.

Disloyal to the Manga
2 March 2024
I read the manga in high school. I was looking forward to this movie when i saw it was being released. So many things wrong with it. The CGI is pretty dated. Many major characters and plot points are missing. With all this information, the plot is left as confusing and disjointed at times. Trying to compare this movie to Sleeping Beauty, something I don't recall happening in the manga. This would've been better as a series instead of a movie. I can only hope that this movie is considered for a re-release or a reboot as a proper series so everything can be covered properly. If Sailor Moon and Fruits Basket can get a reboot, this one should too.

Emotional and Fascinating
13 July 2023
I found myself crying at a few moments in this. Seeing Al Lewis weak in bed, looking like he was just waiting for the end was just heartbreaking. Listening to Lewis recall the history of America through his perspective from the end of WWII to 9/11 is just a fascinating experience, all as a way to kill time while he's preparing for a public appearance, possibly one of his final as Grandpa Munster. Understandably, his political views may not be for everyone, but it's a way to view a man's insight on the country, from the least likely person you'd expect it from. Anyone who's a fan of Al Lewis or a fan of history in general should give this a watch.

Unpleasant
12 October 2022
I'm only going off the first two movies. I've never read the comic books, but there was too much unnecessary gore with very bad CGI. How is it the effects in this movie look worse than the movie made 20 years ago? Maybe because they used practical effects back this and this makes no effort?

So much unneeded swearing. Mila Jovovich's acting lacks any kind of emotion.

A sequel would be interesting, but given how bad this movie did at the box office, it's most likely not going to happen. David Harbour tried with what he was given. I will give him that. Hellboy 3 with Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman should've happened, not this attrocity.

ROB ZOMBIE FANFICTION
28 September 2022
I grew up on reruns of the Munsters as a kid. When I saw the poster and teaser for this movie, I couldn't help but ask... is Rob even trying? Rob Zombie is obviously a fan of the show, Dragula being proof of it. But, my God! This whole movie felt like a fanfic Rob wrote himself. Grandpa was never this mean to Herman in the show. Rob needs to stop casting Sheri in his movies! She isn't that good an actress in any of his movies. No mention of Marilyn who is supposed to be Herman and Lily's college-aged niece. No hint of their son, Eddie. If Rob's planning on a sequel, he'd better improve himself.

Weird
24 March 2021
I've seen the first two movies and thought that they were okay. This one took things too far and got really weird. The first two movies kept the dogs acting realistic for the most part. This one has chihuahuas standing on two feet, CGI arms playing instruments acting as our hosts. Chloe's owner seems to have disappeared. Now, we have a generic hotel story. This movie was unnecessary and too weird even for kids to enjoy.
