One of the Best Anime Ever Created !!!

SG is a story about a mad scientist and a time machine. The story is great, original, creative, twisting, and romantic. It will possess viewers with thrill, affection, curiousity, and bewilderment.

This is one of the best anime ever created. Seldomly I give my applause at the ending of anime series, but one of them is Steins Gate.

Erased (2016)

Original, Creative, and Deep. A Lovely and Suspenseful Anime !

Erased in my opinion, is one of the saddest anime of all time. Recently i watched some mini-series and i continuously suprised by how talented japanesse manga authors. Erased is one of the great works of the decade. Sometimes the characters is lovely, sometimes the scene is tense, and sometimes is sad. This mini-series anime is one of the best in this decade.

12 Angry Men (1957)

Top Class of Acting and Cinematography. A Perfection of Attention to Detail !

I remember 12AM is my first classic black and white movie i watched. From first impression of the cover itself, i really doubt about it. But as the time goes by, this movie incarnate into grandiose, sophisticated, and elegant art. I've been mesmerized, seriously. This is my first classic black and white movie and i instantly honoring it. Nevertheless, this stand at picasso class tier.

The cinematography is one of the best ever made. Seriously, it tought it was really really hard work to do. The attention to detail is very very in perfection. Actors positioning, camera positiong, wide camera shot, close up camera shot, is way on another level. The suspenseful nuance is penetrate deeply into the viewers, what a superb writing. The acting is flawless. Couldn't say no more, this movie is exclusively rare specie.

Therefore, i definitely say this movie is one of the best ever made. It stayed in my top 10 about nearly a decade and maybe for another decades !!!

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Philosophycal work

TSR is a movie about prisoners searching for freedom. This movie contains many good acting, good story, and good cinematography. Altough it cant stand among superior classic movies, but it is prudent to tell TSR is a complete package of entertainment. TSR is a core of prison-escape genre.

This movie is an art of philosophy.

The House That Jack Built (2018)

Illiterate and Dissapointing Work

THTJB tells the story of serial killer of paranoid man. The story is not interesting at all, i tought it include some plot twist or some mystery crime. But it has nothing, this film is a mess. The camera shaking too much. This is dissapointing work from erotic specialist director.

Roma (2018)

Overrated Movie. It is just The Cinematography, The Others are just Try-Hard

Well.. the only one thing that makes this movie great is just the camera works. Camera positioning, camera movement and screen framing is top notch, but the rest is mediocore.

I think this movie want to contest some classic movie such as "Citizen Kane" or some Stanley Kubrick's movie. Also, it really try hard to be appear as classic movie, as it use black and white picture. But i should say, a word "Classic" is not just camera works. Classic movie must consist of good and original storyline, creative art direction, and charismatic acting, but none of them exist in this movie. It failed to contest to classics. The director too ambitious and too optimistic.

And one more thing, why would this movie got 96 rating from metacritic ? Why would this movie rated on par to classics such as Citizen Kane, Casablanca, City Lights, Schindler's List, etc ? Well.. This is a joke.

Cowboy Bebop (1998–1999)

Grandiose Depiction of Timeless Classic

CB tells story about a group of space cowboys. The adventurous cowboys which as bounty hunters, search for police fugitives. As long they go, they found so many challanges and some past stories remedy.

I definity say, CB is one of the best anime in history. It is a timeless classic that no one would forget. Besides it's addicting stories, also contain some romance scent in it and ahead of it's time in sci-fi depiction.

I would say no more, this anime is an art perfection from a maestro in anime.

Band of Brothers (2001)

A Realistic Story of World War 2

BOB, altough it's thrilling concept not as tense as some other best war movies, also altough BOB is a tv series, it already brings some realistic and great scenes. It has good acting from the lead and supporting. BOB also has really good settings, neither social environment, place, and time setting.

BOB is a historic and well-made short tv series.

Dogville (2003)

A Brilliant Movie Setting Concept with Skillfull Lead Actress

Dogville maybe the only one movie using unique setting and cinematography concept. With no walls, no boundary, the viewers could see so many social environment at one time, provoking every wild perspective. Some scenes taken with presice set piece of camera works. Because in this kind of cinematography concept, camera positioning is a key, but it successfully made it.

The lead actress is really flawless. Potraiting cold, calm, and mysterious character. The acting is really charming. Provoking human emotion such as sadness, lovable, lust, toughess, and anger. She has very broad skill of characterization of many human emotion.

Overall, Dogville is a unique and well-made movie with flawless performance of it's lead actress.

The Godfather (1972)

A Perfect Movie

I will tell you an allegory, Godfather is a movie that tells you what a godfather word is and what it means. After people watch godfather movie, it instantly becomes their favourite, and will set their standard of what a real classic and timeless movie is in their future. It will become their trending topic and veneration.

I can't tell you no more, Godfather is a perfect movie. The all three setting components such as place, time, and social environment is perfectly made. The acting skill is flawless. The camera works is precise. The art direction is top notch. If word "masterpiece" could only attached to few movies, then Godfather is definitely one of them.

One Punch Man (2015– )

Funny, enjoyable, and marvelous action !!!

OPM is an anime that tells the story of saitama, who kills monsters by single punch.

From storyline perspective, OPM is not a commodity-like anime. The lead character is a little bit silly, but incredibly powerful from the beginning. This was not like any usual japan anime before, which it's lead character inhibit immense fighting spirit. OPM's lead is different, unique, strong in the beginning, and a little bit mistery inside. We still don't know the background story of the lead, but OPM keep focusing on the supporting character. I think the screen time from the supporting is longer than the lead itself, but the effectiveness of the lead appearance is really precise. I think that was the magic formula, it makes the lead more lovable and set the storyline in different conture.

The pace of the story also fast enough. It is not stalling too many times in screen time for character's background. OPM is focusing in action, comedy, and some light sub-story. The author flipping it's mistery really slow, but really enjoyable yet fast-paced, so the viewers will not be bored. This anime storyline's shape is unique but very classy. I really like it.

Then we go into the cinematography or we called it the editing and art-direction. The animation picture is colorful and vibrant. The action scenes are also very massive, cool, and flawless. The editing of scenes by scenes, especially in action fight, is very neat and clean.

OPM is a classy anime and one of the best of all time. You should watch it.

Death Note (2006–2007)

A geniusly made tv series !

A genius author, which made really original and smart story of manga and adopted into tv series. Death note is at top tier of tv series by all perspectives. It is not a kid anime or manga, it is such really serious tv series made by professional.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009–2010)

So Powerful Tense of Emotion !!

This is the first anime that i watched in a long-run, and also this is the first anime that make me know if there is such power in some animes that could moving people. My emotion was up and down while watching this episode by episode.

I think this is the best anime of japan in terms of emotion. This deserve to be seen as maestro in art and classics. This is an art that truly made by genius professional.

Attack on Titan (2013–2023)

Political intrigue with anti-mainstream story

AOT is an anime series with the uniqueness of its storyline. Potraying undaunted pictures with some unpredictable and not-following-common-tradition of story layer. From time to time, Japan was never running out of talent of impressive manga authors.

AOT never hesitate to delete characters, never doubt to show hardcore scenes, never tired of giving viewers suprise of another layer of character development, and never following formulaic plot structure. AOT deserve to be highly-rated by professionals, neither as an anime or tv/movie series.

Memories of Murder (2003)

Twisting movie that makes you curious

The writing is impressive. After watching this movie, it always makes me curious who the real killer was. Then i search at some blog etc about the ending and i'm suprissed it was based on true story and the killer hasn't found until recently (after i search in some article). I think "what the ....", well then this movie is brave, bold, and have a good writing.

The director and the team really did a great job to depict the true history of serial killer in south korea.

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (2014)

A series that gives my brain bewilderment

If you like astrology or maybe astronomy they call it, if you like history, science, or maybe sci-fi genre, this series will give you a whole meat. Very solid, comprehensive, detail, interesting, very visual, very scientific, and easy to digest, this series is my favourite to watch in the long run.

I stare in bewilderment when i watch this series. What a very insightful series.

Parasite (2019)

A good and light movie, but overrated

Parasite is one of good movies directed by boong joon ho, but I think the best from him was "memories of murder" movie, and this movie is number 2.

The lead character acting was flawless, especially kang-ho song. He the only one that brings thrill to the story.

I think this movie is lighter than memories of murder, but i think more people like it. I think parasite a little bit overrated.

Hunter x Hunter (2011–2014)

Hunter x hunter is my top 1 anime of all time

This remake from 1999 classic hxh also really good. It brings me nostalgic from my childhood but with better animation. Hxh 1999 series is a little bit horror and the characters also more darker, but two of the series is amazing.

Since my childhood, this is the anime that set my standard of all anime after. The story, character development, plot twist and especially strategy of the fight scene, is wayyy on another level. I'm very impressed since then and i'm addicted to this series. Honestly, the author is on another level to create a storyline that day. Then, i read all the manga but sad to hear that the author always hiatus, even tough i think this manga and anime will be a massive follower magnet if it was normally continued.

I think this is the best anime japan ever made, and this is in my top 1 best anime of all time. I hope the author get well soon because so many hxh fanatics waiting from their childhood until now, after pandemic era, or maybe until their age get old, just to wait this anime to continue. Plase continue this manga or continue just to make it finish the story at last. Don't let hxh fanatics gets old and die while waiting this masterpiece to continue.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008)

The best american animation-series of all time

Seldomly the country of uncle sam made some great animation series like this. Unlike japan, which very identic with anime from a long time ago. But with avatar: the last airbender, i think america also have a high potential to create animation-series with good storyline.

I hope another masterpiece like this will emerge from america or nickelodeon. Avatar: the last airbender right now definitely the best.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Movie: Mugen Train (2020)

What a vibrant movie

The newly continuing series of demon slayer: kimetsu no yaiba, with very vibrant art direction and breathtaking action scenes. The producing team also was genius, making the continuing anime series into a movie, that turning into one of the best profitable movie of all time in japan.

From all perspective, the storyline, animation or art direction, musics, etc. This movie is flawless.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019– )

One of the Best Anime of All Time

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba tells the story of Tanjiro Kamado who wants to heal his sister from turning into a demon. Tanjiro then join the Group of Demon Slayer to seek the demon named Kibutsuji Muzan who turns his sister into a demon. Tanjiro hopes after he find Kibutsuji Muzan, he will seek for answer to heal his sister. But in the way to find him, he founds so many challanges.

I'm very impressed by how the story and the animation goes, even I'm not usually watched many animes before.

The story has breathtaking action. Also the story is not slow-paced like other long-run type of animes. The story is precise, right to the point, and not adding so many uneeded scenes. Some long-run type animes usually add so many uneeded scenes in the middle of the battlefight, but this anime is different. It is not following the formula. It only add a few character's background scene without dragging the whole series. The anime is brave, not afraid to show sadistic scenes with very very good suspense skill from the writer and without making the viewers ill. Some of the story was really sad and depressing, and it keeps me missing. Even i'm still not read the manga before, but this anime series definitely deserve to be applaused.

The animation is marvelous. It delivers so many vibrant colours, vibrant characters design, vibrant art customes, good environment settings, and breathtaking action scenes. It also has very very good editing, especially in fight scenes. I think it was one of the best animation movie series by far.

One more thing that makes this movie series really good was the music. The soundtrack of opening, ending, and filler was very addicting. It has great vocals and arrangements.

The conclusion, i think this anime is the new standard of anime from all perspective, either the story, animation, art design, musics, etc. This is an addicting anime with flawless production.

A Silent Voice: The Movie (2016)

What a Superbly Touching Movie..!

First of all, this movie is underrated and honestly, I think this is one of the most depressing movie of all time. Even in the form of anime, the film delivers the story in such a heartbreaking way. It is really dark and the character development is great. The movie delivers the character's emotion to the viewers with marvelous precision while greatly controling the pace or tempo of the story with calm backsound. This movie surely will drive the viewers emotion heavily and intensly. In the end, my mind said "what a superbly touching movie..!"

Your Name. (2016)

Magnificent ! This movie is impressive, incredible, fantastic, near-perfect, rare-made ! This is a masterpiece !

Whoaa ! I don't know where to start from. This is one of movies that left me speechless ! I've been shaken, it instantly made me impressed and deifying it. I praise this movie in an apex ladder board. Forgetting this movie for the rest of your life is just infinitesimal chance. I've been eroded and impaired by its visionary, beauty, and emotional form.

What a zeal, Makoto ! Here he comes ! Praise the luck oh people, we found a new movie professor here. We found a predecessor of Miyazaki, an anime-making skill similar to him. Well maybe now we can call Makoto is paternal to Miyazaki, but maybe moments later reach in peer or surpass. Praise the lord, this is Japan, a new born history-maker has arrive. I write this as a rite of his advent.

This movie has a very strong impact to its viewer. Makoto combine sci-fi and drama to bring affection, love, tension, and thrill. By its form YN is incredibly complex. It plays the plot forth and back and connect it slowly but surprisingly impetuous. You could never guess anything in YN because Makoto wrap the story neatly and unwrap it in the right time and structure. All that you get only a shake in your body knowing how beautiful and twisting the story is. This is one of the most original movie this year, and the originality seems bonded to its viewer by its memories and visionary idea. This is a real contender to holywoods animations

Your name is a solid movie and it instantly in my top list movies. Prepare to be surprised by its beauty and twisting story. Japan has a new-born star now, Makoto is genius and a heart-breaker !

Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)

Kubo and the two strings is one of the best stop-motion animation movie ever made

KATTS is an adventure stop-motion picture that tells a journey of kubo to find the three piece of armor to beat his enemies which are his aunties and grandpa. As the journey begins, he meets some colleagues such as a monkey and a beetle. The three piece armor itself are not easy to obtain. Kubo need to face its protector such as giant skeleton and one eyed monster. When the last armor found, then comes the time when he need to face his hardest enemy, his grandpa, a moon king.

The coolest thing from KATTS is it just a stop-motion, but real contender at awards, maybe Oscar for best picture of the year too. This movie is a huge leap not just from stop- motion, but also for a movie. It has an original story and screenplay, fairy tale story structure with beautiful color composition.

The color composition is so vibrant and modern. I like how the director compose blue, black, and white to create such a beautiful night with moonlight. While he compose a good proportion of orange to create dusty set place in the early duration. Some screenplay also worth to be stated amazing. Voice cast also did a great job. From all aspect, KATTS is above average.

You will not get bored witnessing a journey of Kubo til the end. This movie will keeps you surprise and erupt you as the story untold. This is the potential how an adventure animation genre film could be. Don't blink !

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)

British style of movie composed with dark imaginative direction from Yates make Fantastic Beast have his own unique screenplay

First off all, i will say what are the three things that make Fantastic beast good to me. One, the twist concept. Two, Farrell's performance (Greaves). Three, Fogler's performance (Jacob). Oh and yeah of course, the Jacob farewell scene.

The twist concept using British typical, giving so many option to reveal who the real enemy is. Thanks to Hitchcook who made this potent formula. With so many option about who the real enemy is, the movie tells audience to keep thinking until it's reveal. This will keeps audience enthusiasm to the story. This formula also often used by Christopher Nolan whose also British director.

I must confess Farrell performance is incredible, even surpass the lead, Eddie Redmayne, psychology-problem actor specialize. Farrell was electrifying and charismatic. Honestly, I am a little bit sad he just play role as disguise to grindelwald, whose true identity played by Johnny Depp. Well, i degrade my trust a little bit to Depp. No promising performance from his some latest movies.

And the last is Fogler's performance. What the director intention is, to grow likable feeling to Jacob as the duration goes on. I also like this formula, this formula seems very heartbreaking in the end, because step by step director develop Jacob's character, from his problems, his comedy, and in the end reveal his true loving and caring trait, but then should let all those things gone suddenly. I like that rain obliviate idea, it was deep and original. Jacob's character was played really great by Fogler. He just like a completing piece to the cast, i will never imagine how this movie could be without him, it should be a little bit empty and shallow.

The conclusion is, this movie is good and matched with it's metascore (66). Special thanks to J.K Rowling who write screenplay for Fantastic Beast franchise and bring Potterian nostalgic to movie cinema.
