Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West (2005)
Excellent: Stresses the crucial moment we are in!
You must understand. Iran, together with the funding of many Arab Muslim countries, is responsible for most of the terror actions against the west in it's war and struggle to Islamize the world (by putting fear and ignorance into the brain of thinking Humans all over the world). Right now, for all as we know, they haven't acquired yet nuclear weapons, like North Korea. If they won't be stopped, it will be used, first to put fear and pressure upon who they perceive as their enemies, and since they only really care about the "next world", they won't be afraid to use their nuclear weapons, unlike the Russians and the Chinese.
There's much more I can say but there's a word limit, and the issues are a little more complex to fit into one sentence the way ignorant people like it, so do yourself a favor and go read some honest decent history books, and try to really understand in what world you are living in (and in what kind of world do you want to live!). And do that quickly, before the elections, so you won't make a fatal mistake! P.S Ain't that funny, the Muslims complaining all the time that the west wants to take over their world, that America is an imperialistic power and they don't like empires but it's OK for them to be an empire and conquer the world because they are committed to that by Allah and the Islam. What can they do? A god tells them to conquer the world, spread the Islam, they have no choice
Relentless: The Struggle for Peace in Israel (2003)
To Dan-1060 - sadly there's a word limit, so I can't fix thoroughly all of your false claims
You say this movie is one-sided because it only tells the facts of one side (the Israelian) or because it doesn't do the Arab cause any good?
There are no laws that require a Doc movie to deal with all the issues of a story or tell about everyone's suffer. And the fact that someone suffers doesn't mean he's just and good, and doesn't deserve his punishment. By the way, that's a common Muslim pattern: They attack the western infidels, and when the west attacks them back and gives them hard punishing, they start to cry like little brats, saying "What do you want from us? Why do you kill us? We have done nothing wrong!! You are a war criminal and you will pay for this ugly unjustified attack!!!".
When I read what you said it made me wonder from what history book did you learn from? Sadly, having decent honest history books in one's country cannot guaranty knowledgeable people because "History is boring
Let's go knock our head!!!" That's why there many people in Israel that sound a bit like you, in spite the fact that we have a lot of honest decent history books - and know this: most of them were written by extreme left people, and still, Israel comes out as the righteous side! And it's not because of government pressure; from the beginning most Israelian governments were left, and the "right" ones - from Likud - sometimes turned out to be more left than left - center side at the most. The only major difference between them is how hard they react for the many fundamental violations of the "peace" agreements, that the Arabs commit toward Israel. The bottom line that comes out of Israel is: We are the good guys, we are righteous, we were attacked by the Arabs because they're not willing to let us live independent free life (because it's against the Islam to let sovereignty for the "Jews" and Christians), the Arabs deserve the sufferings that we inflicted to them for their attacks on us and we deserve to be compensated, but, after all, our values are of peace and love and we are willing to make some compromises for the sake of peace with our neighbors.
Sadly, my fellow Israelians and other good people don't understand that only when you stand on your justice, people respect you. Only when the Justice of Israel will be fulfilled, and the Arabs will get rid of the criminal dictators who rule them, and unify the Arab nation under a true democratic government, in which nazi fascist religious parties like Hammas / Hizballa / Islamic Jihad / The Muslim Brotherhood and others won't be allowed to participate (and I hope the same will happen with the few idiotic religious parties in Israel they're not nazi fascist, just stupid
), only then there will be a great chance for a peace agreement that will be worth the paper it's written on.
Anyway, if you would've read a decent honest history book, you would have discovered how wrong you are:
The Arabs refused the partition of the land of Israel because it's against the Islam, against their honor, and because accepting the UN plan would have made it very hard for them to defeat and kill the Israelians, if the Israelians will be an official state with recognized territory.
Yes, Israel is our homeland! Even though most of us were expelled from Israel by foreign powers about 2000 years ago, there was always Israelian presence in the land of Israel, we were always nearby, yearning to return and not to be defeated and expelled again. Through the years we came to see our homeland, trying to settle back and only in the 19th century, with great efforts by the modern Zionistic movement, a real hope to re-establish the state of Israel emerged in the hearts of Israelians all over the world. Our holocaust only stressed the danger for us and the need to re-establish the state of Israel as quickly as possible. Our holocaust taught us that we should never trust anyone, and only our people should rule us and be our shield, our army forever!
Gandhi is an ignorant if he thinks the Israelians are colonists in the land of Israel, and so are you. The real occupiers are the Arabs, same as they were in Spain (were they sat for hundreds of years, too). Yet, the modern Israelians never demanded their lands back from the Arabs. The Arabs were told that, if they attack the Israelians, every Israelian land that the Israelians will free in their counter-attack will remain in Israelian hands.
You talk about Teror by Israelians against Arabs before the re-establishment of Israel, about Arabs forced out by Israelians (between 1947-1949 and in 1967), about Human rights abuses, about life under occupation, you laugh about the Israelian concessions in the peace talks and you talk about a "viable state for the Arab Palestinians".
Now, that is all fine and beautiful and justice but no. It is wrong. Because, just like in math, when you are relying on the wrong numbers, the way you are trying to solve the problem might be correct and fine and great but the result will be incorrect.
Same as here: it's great that you're hoping for the triumph of justice and goodness in this world, or at least, in the case of the Arab-Israelian 100 year (or more) long war, but your information is incorrect; the real occupiers are the Arabs, the real colonists are the Arabs. Those who opened this war, who started this war, are the Arabs. Those who deserve the punishment and the suffering are the Arabs. Those who are responsible for the continuing war are the Arabs. Those who need to make concessions are the Arabs.
