Fast X (2023)

Not as horrible as the last one....but don't get your hopes up.

I did not expect much here, it was really cheap at the goodwill so I hope I can sell it for $3 to make my money back. Look for my listing on eCrater.

Not as CGI heavy as the last one, back to some of the basics of car stunts, action.

Jason Mamoa as Cesar Romero's 1967 Joker makes a good villain, he was having fun and that does show, but it still is not that good of a movie.

I didn't get how the kid has more scenes than Jordana Brewster, and the Late Paul Walker.

It all sets up ANOTHER SEQUEL....will be nice to see Jason vs Dwayne, those two are going to have some fun together, and Vin will need to get taller boots.

There are a few too many swerves with who used to be a baddie and who is now a baddie.

But don't expect much and you will be entertained, I even raised my star rating from one to four.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (2023– )

Not bad, some good stuff, but not amazing

There is some bad stuff right off the bat with the 'video game esque' stuff on the boat.

From there we go to something that makes less sense than BOMBERS IN SPACE, why would France be importing the walking dead? People die in France, it's a nice country, but it does happen.

The thief girl in the beginning I think they lost a good character for the Daryl character to work off of by only having her in one episode.

The kids episode, makes one want to hit the FF button.

Other than being a full blown Karen what is the motivation of the French lady? Not really explained why they are making acid walkers, it appears to be difficult enough just to survive, which I think if France had to go back to agrarian ways they would do just fine compared to America.

I didn't hate it, as I did give it a 7, Norman is a good actor, I'm secretly hoping for a third Boondock Saints.

Love Missy, was so glad she got the lead in a show, and I'm happy she had a kid in S2 in her personal life.

The show, so formulaic, every ep in S3 starts with what really started in S2, every 'unsub' is a white supremacist and or an Incel, they waste 15 minutes per episode disproving what they should have known in the first place.

So won't be back, and I hope Missy gets another show, the fellow that plays her partner, they have good chemistry, work well together, it's just the writing is horrible, and beyond repetitive.

Now I just hope I can sell the dvds I bought of this show.

And what is with this 600 word count crap!

Mermaid Down (2019)

Really have to recognize hard work, even though it doesn't always pay off.

I don't think this is a spoiler, set is a small house that's supposed to be a hospital, I guess they spent all their money on the boats and special effects.

Lead actress is hauntly great, oh an not hard on the eyes.

I liked it, didn't love it.

There's a story here, but like the prequels it just doesn't feel complete.

The mom killing her 10yo with a pillow in the first I think it was 20mins. An later the autopsy of said little boy, could have covered up the little dingaling, did not need to see that.

The setting with all the decay around them in every scene seemed a good idea.

But how did we get here?

We see people who can eat plastic, but we don't see anyone eat something that looks like actual FOOD.

Viggo is good, I was surprised that K-stew did a really good acting Job, only thing she could have done more would to be eat bugs on screen for this role.

Tanaya Beatty is hawt.

The Blackout (2019)

Lots of good ideas here.

I liked it, true the bad dubbing made it hard to get the emoting from the actors, but, at the end I thought it was some imaginative Sci-fi, wish hollywoke could figure out how to think outside the box.

Ending is well done as the tack of the idea of an alien invasion.

Blade Runner: Black Lotus (2021– )

Brie is a good actress, and pretty fearless in this, but I couldn't help but feel this was a Molly Shannon script that had been sitting on the shelf for a couple of decades, so they put her in a supporting role and let Brie be in the lead.

Short, waaay to many loose ends so I gave it a 6.

The only way this could have been a success, is if it was done like Dark Shadows, campy and FUN!

Instead you get another movie trying to make Frank Miller's the Return of the Dark Knight, instead of Zak Snyder's Super-batman, Wonder-batman, Speedy-batman, and everyone's favorite Silver Cyborg Vibrator-batman.

Movie was doomed. Don't bother.

The Hoard (2018)

This isn't just a spoof of one reality show, it spoofs three styles of them.

The Hoarders show, a Syfy Ghost show, and an HGTV/DIY show.

I'm not going to look it up, but if someone who made this isn't involved in production of actual reality shows I would be very surprised. As the camera angles, the drone shots of the cast.

Loved this movie, every once in a while I try to look up what happened to the actual bus, the googles say it's been scrapped, but how could someone not look at that front end and keep it in a garage somewhere.

Julia with a big gun, how does that not get you to watch, but it's more about a writer, who had to write, so he wrote about not being able to write.

If you are expecting a long existential monologue then you will probably be disappointed.

The Mandalorian (2019– )

Is it really that good, or were the sequels just so bad?????

I don't feel I'm hating on this show when I ask that question, is it really that good, or is it that the sequels were so absolutely horrible(there isn't a good enough adjective to describe how bad), that by comparison the Mandalorian is great due to not having to give us much to be good.

S2 seemed like it was planting waaay to many spin offs, so S1 is definitely better.

Also, does Mando cement the fact that Star Wars is DEAD as a movie property, I know after Last Jedi I won't see another SW 'movie'.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979–1981)

Season 1 great, S2, not so much

I loved this show in season one, then when S2 came out I was completely lost, Wilma became a cruise director, and being that she was a Lt. Col, she should have been in charge of the ship.

But alas, it didn't last, miss shows like this.

Savage Creatures (2020)

But it was really funny, just the concepts going on in this movie made it fun, Cannibals vs Vamps, then Vamps vs Zombies created by aliens, then Vamps vs Priest/Nun, then Vamps vs the Aliens.

It was cute, and fun, worth the $1.25 I spent on it.

Treasure Hunters (2015)

Great cover, has nothing to do with the movie.

The cover says Lara Croft, but the movie is basically the end of film/acting school.

The story, thin thin thin story, is more accurate to real life treasure hunting in the PI, crooked public officials, and street thieves.

Acting wasn't great, but I doubt that you would do as well your first or second time out.

Batwoman (2019–2022)

I would rate it 1, but Alice tries to entertain...

Michael Keaton once said "He didn't like being a co-star in his own movie", but, Michelle and her stuntwoman owned that movie.

I can see why Ruby left this trainwreck, it didn't get better in season two, and if I didn't get a copy for less than $9 I wouldn't have bothered to watch S2.

From the Prison Warden who pulls a Kamala Harris, sending out terrorists to trash community centers so the inmate numbers continue to be high, it's Gotham City, a community center isn't going to help you any more than social worker, when what you need is a cop and a prosecutor that would put the bad people in prison where they belong.

And yes, Alice is the only reason I still watch this, she's at least trying to entertain, but the rest is drivel, worthless woke drivel, that makes Adam West and Burt Ward's camp, a joy.

Nobody Dies (2018)

Badly dubbed, but funny.

As I watch this I just think about who would play in an American version, as Gina Carano I think would be perfect, also Joe Pesci and Ray Lolita would be perfect for the Old Detective and the Mob Boss, and could they get Wil Ferrell to play the accountant?

I gave it a couple of extra stars to offset the haters.

With how woke everything else out there is, especially the Paramount Net, this show just aims for being amazingly great.

Beth an Rip are meant for each other, both fearless and indestructible.

I love Teeter, or as she pronounces it "Taay-tar".

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)

But this movie is a major departure for what made the first one good.

Either Angie was phoning it in, or there just wasn't much for her to do in this one, as this movie focuses on just about everyone else.

Angie was the star in the first one and she's on the JV team here.

F9: The Fast Saga (2021)

It's just "Ludacris" that a Fiero in space could travel from 50miles up to 250miles up without any fuel, not to mention enough air!

Vin almost has a spill in his hidden heel boots when he walks into the 'embassy' to confront Cena. If you watch closely you can see the boot 'wiggle' when he steps, like any lady wearing high heels.

Beyond unrealistic, Vin is 'strongest one there is', except when it comes to punching Cena, who after being punched by Vin in the face/head repeatedly has not a hair out of place.

Um, if Vin punches you in the face, you are going to look like it.

The term 'phoned in' definitely describes this.

It is still sweet that they leave a chair open for Paul Walker's character even though the actor has passed.
