Madame Claude (2021)
Absolutely hopeless
Poorly developed story, it can put anyone to sleep, it is obviously intended to be a sad story but the conflict is underdeveloped, dialogue is like reading the story from a very distracted storyteller that is uninterested and disaffected, I was hoping to see a way much better and exciting film, The time line stretches along the story hopelessly unfolding events that keep moving along quotidian in dates (with lettering) it simply becomes a sequence leading towards the end in a very long alley of a summarized and unremarkable ending that feels like a flight that never took off but it landed. The story deserved a much better film.
365 Days: This Day (2022)
At least the hub admits their talent isn't acting
Any feature on sitehub has better acting with a little more and a little less lines on the dialogue, the disco pop music montage is ad nauseam, the starlets are pretty, they could have spared the beautiful locations and film it in the ussual office with a cheap black couch. Anyway, I suppose this is probably not intended to be viewed by men, the writer had too many Hallmark movies and hard seltzer to write this saga of light porn for women.
Forever (2018)
Entertaining and confusing fleshed out
I just wish that's not life after death! But nice try Amazon I won't let you know what I want after life!
Diablo Guardián (2018)
Exciting.
It is quite exciting to see a huge effort, and by this I mean humongous, Latin production is not often as well made, this is leveling up, acting is not bad as many reviews say, the adaptation us not terrible as some say; in honor to truth, it's actually exciting, actors can go as far as the writing goes. Cinematography is quite satisfying, well stylized, even dare to say better than some of the first chapters of house of cards, none the less technology has evolved quite significantly from five Ds... however my rating is not above the seven stars because as a Latin American I wish we could move on from the quirks (idieosincracys) of Latin America being a drug driven world of lust for drugs, alcohol and prostitution leading to power (which happens worldwide) understandingly this is a drama: and drama ain't all pretty and Hallmark like, but the angle and perspective is maybe just too much of a cliché; and leaves you wanting a little more depth.
Actors are brilliant, direction, art department as well. As a viwer you can hate the bad guys from the very first time you see them; and get disgusted very easily (writing could improve) make it a little more creddible.
Amazon starts great projects, I hope this one stays to evolve, and not end like season two of Goliath which pretty much went sour on the poor writing and the cliché caricature of the Mexican quirks.
Room (2015)
A movie really worth watching.
An amazing story that will make the viewer go through every human emotion possible; even more so by connecting through the boy's perspective of his journey through life as he knew it.
Any words will all fall short to describe how worth this movie is.
It will definitely change something inside of you, and make you remember a time in your life when everything was fascinating and meaningful, a beautiful lesson on the relativity of happiness, bravery and love of a mother wanting to stay sane through her struggles to help him never learn of the sad truth of their own experience and reality.
Cinematic masterpiece, strong story and storytelling, powerful and rich. it will also raise awareness for terrible crimes that happen every day, but brings hope to the victims and their families.
Watch the movie it's worth every second of your time.
Hardcore Henry (2015)
Video game experience brought to life, brilliant.
Although I felt most of the movie feeling like I did pick a wrong movie since I will unlikely pick a blood and violent action movie, I appreciated the intensity and the level of action and screenplay, the POV unlike any other experience brings to life what could be a video game with amazing graphics, it captivates audience with clever character building and plot, climaxes on one huge amount of information learnt through out the entire movie, it's intensity may leave you immerse in the bloodbath throughout its violence engagement on 90% of it or more it only should highly warn viewers about it's level of violence, for the weak of stomach it should warn about its fizzing ultra wide angle POV stylized cinematography. Amazing work, brilliant plot.
The Neon Demon (2016)
Awful yet beautifully shot.
Cinematography of Natasha Braier kept me looking, stylized amazing beauty comes to life in every shot, it keeps your attention dead on with hypnotic surrealism.
Reference to orange clockwork can be felt. The down side is that it gets the point of boredom right at the second half, building up a story with vivid and hallucinogenic experiences trips onto the second half. Feels like a fall off a very tall skyscraper, causing a slow climax that unravels into a ridiculous semi-psychotic ending.
Visual language in the movie is strong but the dialogue is loose, too long of a weak story to watch. Bottom line, it's an awful movie and story with a beautiful style.
If you're epileptic I'd recommend not watching: repetitive light effects. I'm not sure how that is not explicitly warned.
